New Mexico shooting? Lets scapegoat videogames!

New Mexico shooting? Lets scapegoat videogames! screenshot

It's implied that the headline to a news story contains the most important information from that story, right? That's not just a matter of opinion. That's a generally recognized fact, isn't it? So am I really seeing that NBC.com has used the headline, and not 1, not 2, but 3 opening paragraphs to discuss the fact that a 15 year old boy accused of shooting and killing mother, father, and siblings liked violent videogames? Seriously?

Seriously.

If you read more deeply into the story, you'll also find that the 15 year old was also raised in a home with his jailhouse chaplin (and ex-convict) father, who not only trained his son to use a variety of guns at a young age, but also transformed their property into a "halfway house" for other convicted criminals. The boy was brought up with a relative armory in his home, among ex-cons who were in some "halfway" state of reforming from unspecified criminal mindsets, and it's the videogames that NBC can't stop talking about?

I'm no PhD, but I don't think it takes a whole lot of book learning to guess what may have really contributed to this child's comfort with gun violence, and his repressed anger at himself and the world around him. I'll be highly surprised if we don't eventually discover that this boy was abused by his family and/or some of those ex-cons. Sadly, if the mainstream media's pattern of witch hunting continues, I'll probably have to dig through paragraphs of crap about how much he enjoyed Pac-Man and movies about Gladiators in order to find that information,

Here are the 2013 IGF Student Showcase winners screenshot

Now that we've seen the Main Competition finalists for the 2013 Independent Games Festival, it's that time when we check in on what the students have been up to. Judges narrowed down more than 300 entries to end up with the following list of Student Showcase winners:

Of the winners, Knights of Pen & Paper and Zineth immediately jump out as me as recognizable, which means there's further link clicking that needs to be done on my part. If you'd like to dig deeper, be sure to read over the announcement post, as it also lists the honorable mentions.

New character skins for Borderlands 2 now for sale

New character skins for Borderlands 2 now for sale screenshot

Tired of the dozens of ways you can customize the look of your Vault Hunter in Borderlands 2? 2K Games announced today the availability of new DLC skin packs you can buy to shake up your style a bit more. Each of the playable characters has a new head and body skin available in each of three themes, which 2K has chosen to call, "Domination, Madness, and Supremacy," for a total of fifteen original, new designs.

The DLC items are being sold with the head and body items together for $0.99 (or 80 MS points) each, and they look pretty cool. It's nevertheless weird to think about paying money for cosmetic items applied to a character you never see because the game is played entirely in first-person view. I get excited by the prospect of looking at my unlocked skins, but actually paying for more of them seems like a lapse in judgment.

Let's Fish! Hooked On hits PlayStation Vita next week

Let's Fish! Hooked On hits PlayStation Vita next week screenshot

When talking to another human being who doesn't play many videogames, I have to imagine trying to explain a title like Let's Fish! Hooked On would come across as mystifying. And in its own way, that's kind of awesome. It's a pleasant surprise, then, to see this latest fishing game from SIMS (Sega Bass Fishing) arrive on PlayStation Vita on January 29, 2013.

The PlayStation Blog has the details, reporting that Hooked On will release for $19.99 via PlayStation Network. There's a full story mode in World Tour, but if you're in it purely for the arcade-style fishing action, a Challenge mode with online rankings will satisfy that desire.

Here's today's Destructoid Show! Lots of cool stuff today, and some stupid crappy stuff. Sounds like a regular ol' Tuesday, huh? The Elder Scrolls Online has started beta signups, Ralph Nader called video games a mean name, Resident Evil Revelations is coming to consoles and PC, and Ni No Kuni got reviewed! Also, Dead Space 3 has some smelly little microtransactions in it.

Bass and Treble are next in Bandai's D-Arts Mega Man line

Bass and Treble are next in Bandai's D-Arts Mega Man line screenshot

After rockin' some kickass Mega Man X figurines for a while, Bandai decided to return to the series' classic roots with an OG Mega Man and Rush combo this past December. And because little boy blue was just so gosh-darn popular, his rival Bass was bound to crash the party.

D-Arts Bass is confirmed for a June release at a price of ¥3990 (~$45), and he will include his trusty canine companion Treble. No American release has been announced yet, but Bandai has been on the ball in bringing all the Mega Men westward via Bluefin.

If you haven't purchased any D-Arts figurines, Mega Man or otherwise, whip out that wallet as soon as you can. These aren't model kits or resin statues, but rather some of the highest quality action figures I have ever seen. The sticker price may seem rather high, but sleep easy knowing that these figures more than demonstrate their worth. Trust me.

Because you spent every waking moment gorging on Disgaea: Hour of Darkness since its digital re-release on last week, NIS America is dishing out seconds. Tactical role-playing game Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is set to grace PlayStation Network.

While the better regarded Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days is already available for PSP and Vita, Cursed Memories costs just $9.99. That's quite the steal for a game you could potentially spend hundreds of hours with. Look out for it later today.

Skiing/snowboarding PC game SNOW sounds terrific

Skiing/snowboarding PC game SNOW sounds terrific screenshot

While I'm of the opinion that we could use more snowboarding games regardless of what specific form the gameplay takes, with SSX still relatively fresh on our minds, it would be nice to see a high-profile title founded in realism. Perhaps Poppermost Productions will fill that void with its free-to-play, CryEngine 3-powered PC game SNOW.

I had never heard of this prior to today, but it sounds highly promising. The Stockholm, Sweden-based studio is partnering with notable freeskiers Tom Wallisch, Tanner Hall, and Russ Henshaw in an attempt to nail realistic gameplay for its open-world title.

"We are extremely fortunate to have such amazing athletic talent on our team," said CEO Alexander Bergendah. "They will provide us with unmatched insight into their world, and offer gamers experiences that they've personally designed." Apparently, a public beta test is coming soon. Better keep an eye out!

Divekick is coming to the PS3, PC, and Vita

Divekick is coming to the PS3, PC, and Vita screenshot

Iron Galaxy Studios and Shoryuken.com editor-in-chief Adam Heart have been hard at work getting Divekick together for a formal release. It appears as if an agreement has been made, and the game is getting a full release on the PS3, PC, and PlayStation Vita later this spring.

This version will contain online support, a full campaign, and other features. For those of you who haven't heard of Divekick before, it was initially a Kickstarter-fueled fighter that turned to publisher support, and it uses two buttons.

After first being dismissed as a simple parody, people actually started to take a liking to the game, and there's a decent hardcore scene around it. As someone who's been interested since the beginning, I can't wait to see how this pans out!

What do you think of the Metal Gear Revengeance demo?

What do you think of the Metal Gear Revengeance demo? screenshot

The Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance demo is now up on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The demo is based on the Tokyo Game Show demo we saw last year, and sees Raiden fighting cyborgs, Geckos, and the dog robot with a chainsaw for a tail.

We've been looking forward to this new entry to the Metal Gear universe long before it was even a Platinum Games project. Now we're just under a month away from the February 19 release in the US.

While I intend on playing the ever living hell out of Revengeance when it's officially released, the demo has left me a bit turned off. My attempts are parrying attacks seemed to work only half the time, leaving me frustrated more often than not. I need to give the demo a few more spins, as others didn't seem to run into my problem when I brought it up on Twitter. It probably also doesn't help that I'm just coming off of a big high from DmC's combat system, which I adore.

What do you think of the Revengeance demo?

This Month in the Community: Coldcocked screenshot

[Every month or so, we on the Dtoid Community Team throw together a round-up of everything happening in and around the community! We'll scour the C Blogs and Forums for awesome posts, recap our latest community playdates, highlight community podcasts, and give you the low-down on any NARPs you may have missed.]

It's winter here in the mighty USofA, and if you're like me, anything below 40 degrees means you're staying the hell indoors. Thankfully, the Destructoid community is here to keep me company!

Dtoid had a wonderfully active month in the C Blogs, Forums, "real world", and on the front page, so let's take a look at everything you've been up to!

COMMUNITY BLOGS
by Mr Andy Dixon, US Community Manager

Nine C Blogs received the front-page treatment since we last spoke! Between Bory Borham's in-depth analyses of the newest Metal Gear Solid trailers to ChillyBilly's story of compulsive collecting gone bad to TriplZer0's five stages of backlog grief to Cutie Honey's unique recap of the games he played in 2012, the sheer variety of the things you wonderful people are coming up with never ceases to amaze me. Without a doubt my favorite blog of the year had to be the CblogRecaps crew's 2012 highlight reel, though. If you haven't checked out this compilation of almost every quality blog written in 2012, you're missing out!

And speaking of missing out, if you're not up-to-date with all of our faptastic community podcasts... well, what the hell is wrong with you?! Check out all the aural badassness contained within these pages:

Awesome, right? Go give them a listen if you know what's good for ya!

Dtoid's Artists Wanted and Bloggers Wanted have both enjoyed an incredible turnout for their latest assignments, too. Dozens of you shared your favorite videogame moments of 2012 with us, and nine of you bared your souls for our "self portrait" art assignment. New editions of both are coming soon!

And that's it for the C Blogs! Thanks for all your hard work, everyone!

FORUMS, WE HAVE THEM
by Aaron "Mxy" Yost and Joanna "Zodiac Eclipse" Mueller, Forum Admins

It's a new year, and that means brand new lists of stuff Dtoiders consumed! In 2012, Dtoiders completed a total of 2,523 games. Digtastik has already started up the 2013 Completed Games thread, so get to listing! Remember, if you finish 25 or more games in a single year there's a nifty badge in it for you! For those interested in listing other forms of media, Tarvu's got you covered with the 2013 Completed Films, Books, and Television Shows thread.

The Forums version of Secret Santa has finished up! If you'd like to see what people got check out the Seacrest Santa 2012 thread.

Jon Bloodspray wants to know what your New Year's resolutions are. Mine are top secret, so then nobody else can give me shit when I fail them.

The Werewolf games on the Forums could use some more players, whether you're a veteran or a noob. Check out the thread for info on how to play or to look back at previous games!

MAGFest XI happened at the beginning of January! This was the first gaming con I have been able to attend, and it was an absolute blast getting to meet you guys! Changston deserves big props for taking the lead on organizing things this year. The next major US event is PAX East 2013 from March 22nd to 24th, and N7 has a thread up if you're planning on going!

Finally, don't forget that planning for Friday Night Fights starts in the Forums! If you're interested in hosting or joining a game with other Dtoiders, look for the weekly threads for the platform you prefer and jump on in!

COMMUNITY PLAYDATES
by Spencer Hayes, Community Master

So as it sits I'd like to take this chance to re-educate everyone how Friday Night Fights work. "But Spencer" you might say, "didn't M. Randy Dixon just post an awesome guide a few days ago?" Shut up, sometimes it's best to reiterate things in rhyme. Let's do that:

There once was a website so fair
Destructoid, with robots on-air
They started a fight
On one special night
In which every member was there

The venues were non-exclusive
And the times were all inclusive
They did it up right
With no end in sight
Now we have fun everywhere

Alright, that fell apart but you guys get the idea. Go play games with your fellow community members! It's good for you.

NARPS
by Conor Elsea, Community Monster

As Mxy and Jo just mentioned, MAGFest happened!! Some other things too... but mostly MAGFest! I wasn't able to attend, but I was tweeted at with pictures of crotches, so I'm guessing it was one hell of a party. If you went, you should share your stories in the comments!

Changston and TheTino (that right, Tino?) put together a NARP in central Jersey, but as of now, there's no Cblog and no pictures. These classy gents know a thing or two about NARPing, so it's a safe bet everyone had a great time.

Start planning your spring and summer NARPs now people! Get out of them emailers and into the forums and cblogs to get as much exposure as possible. Let me know if you ever want help or suggestions! Andy and I may even be working on something for this summer, so stay tuned!

DTOID EUROPE
by Beccy Caine, European Community Manager

Last month marked Dtoid UK's annual DecNARP, from which I was sadly absent due to my being in the line of duty in the hospitality industry during the festive period. Woe. Luckily community members JJMcCallum, iceblight and TheToiletDuck were there to chronicle the weekend and they have a lovely write up over here. For an idea of what they got up to, here's a summary from JJMcCallum:

Wooden ties, enough alcohol to intoxicate a small village, five kilograms of meat, a roast dinner, Power Rangers, hijacking of hashtags and the little hatted hobbit who just couldn't stand no more.

So there you have it. Head on over and give it a read! For the newbies amongst us or anybody in need of a reminder, planning for events such as this one happens in our forum thread or the Google Groups mailer. Come and say hi!

----------

And that's it for this edition! Got any ideas for making this feature better? Please sound off in the comments!

Until next time! <3

Quantic Dream registers domain that references 'PS4'

Quantic Dream registers domain that references 'PS4' screenshot

Superannuation has been on a roll lately with spotting curious domain registrations. As posted on Kotaku, it's been discovered that Heavy Rain developer Quantic Dream registered singularityps4.com back in November of last year, following the same URL naming convention used for the prior game's website.

Currently, the studio has its PlayStation 3 title Beyond: Two Souls (pictured above) in development and, seemingly, this other project for Sony's unannounced PlayStation 4. Superannuation picked up on the fact that Quantic Dream founder David Cage has cited the book The Singularity is Near as inspiration for the team's Kara tech demonstration.

Not to trash Beyond, but I was significantly more interested in seeing the ideas presented in the Kara demo expanded into a full game. Could such themes of artificial intelligence be explored on Sony's upcoming console? It seems entirely plausible.

Silkroad Online: Death Bone’s Secrets Revealed

Posted: 22 Jan 2013 11:37 AM PST

57458 540x400 silkroad online deathbone

Joymax has revealed new secrets today behind the origin of “Death Bone,” a special boss event for Silkroad Online.

When Roc was a little bird his nest was stolen by his own family which caused him great remorse and almost led him to take his own life. To overcome the trauma, he studied dark magic, but little did he know that this would cause something more terrifying than death. Becoming the skeleton-like ‘Death Bone’ was not by his own choice. As Roc began to practice dark magic, his power gauge lost its maximum limit and rose higher and higher and all of his glowing feathers were lost in the process. The only way to actually see the mysterious Death Bone is to get to the Roc Mountain’s nest!

Roc Mountain will be upgraded, raising the entrance level limit of Death Bone’s appearance to levels 80-120. Players who obtain the “Key of Bloodline” from “So-Ok” and enter Roc Mountain can attempt to defeath this beast. Those who screenshot the monster and share it will get a chance at several cool prizes, and every player who uses the key between January 15 to January 29 will receive a Monster Summon Scroll. Lucky players who use the Key will also get Roc Insignia, a special strength and intelligence increase.

City of Steam partners with publisher R2 Games
Although limited in duration, City of Steam's alpha and closed beta sessions last year have helped build a following for Mechanist Games' upcoming steampunk-flavored browser-based MMO. And now, thanks to a publishing partnership with Reality Squared Games, the industrial age fantasy game will have access to a wider audience.

R2 Games already has other free-to-play titles in its portfolio, but City of Steam will be the first using the Unity 3D engine. R2 Games CEO Jared Psigoda stated, "I see a lot of potential in City of Steam. Mechanist Games' approach to making a game is something we're thrilled to be a part of. We want to make sure City of Steam gets the recognition it deserves for being the innovative game that it is."

Return to Ekrund now in Warhammer Online's live event
A week ago, it was only a tease hinted at on Twitter. Now, it's a sure thing: The Return to Ekrund live event is on Warhammer Online servers. The event takes place in or around Ekrund, the tier one starting area for Dwarven Oathbreakers. Players can work through the many steps of the event to earn special rewards. Event tasks include safely escorting Dwarf historians, killing enemy Greenskins, piecing together puzzles, and more.

Worried about turning into a chicken because your level is too high for a starting zone event? Don't be! Higher level players are tweaked in the RvR lakes (the PvP areas) and returned to a level fit for the area. However, don't expect to keep all your high-powered skills and your fast mount when you level down; you actually only get access to the skills, abilities, and tactics of that level!

      DUST 514
Less than a week before DUST 514's January 22nd open beta launch, CCP invited Massively and other publications to attend an orbital bombardment event in San Francisco. The Daily Grind: Would you buy a console to play an MMO?

        DUST 514
Imagine there's an MMO you really want to play (for some of you, this is going to take a lot of imagination, but pretend, for just this question, that you actually like playing the MMOs you play). Maybe the game is going to connect to an existing MMO in a novel way, or maybe it's that $300,000,000 ultimate sandbox you've been hoping for. This theoretical MMO is just perfect for you, and you need to play it like yesterday.

Except that it's coming out on consoles, and only on consoles for the foreseeable future. And it's a console you don't already own. Nooooooooooo!

I picked up a PS3 partly for this reason -- to play PS3-exclusive games like Journey. But an MMO? That would take a lot more doing; it'd have to be a truly compelling world that offers something I can't get anywhere else. Whether or not it's your thing, DUST 514 is asking just this question of gamers, but it wasn't the first and it surely won't be the last.

So what about you? Would you buy a console just to play an MMO -- if not DUST, then some other game?

Every morning, the Massively bloggers probe the minds of their readers with deep, thought-provoking questions about that most serious of topics: massively online gaming. We crave your opinions, so grab your caffeinated beverage of choice and chime in on today's Daily Grind!

Check out ten minutes of Asta game footage
The folks at Asta: The War of Tears and Winds are probably hoping that Mists of Pandaria players will crave even more Asian World of Warcraft action as evidenced by a new video that shows off the game's looks and combat. It's a lengthy 10-minute tour that begins with character creation (why are MMO characters so fidgety, anyway?) and progresses through several zones with an emphasis on battles, scenery, and East Asian designs.

Asta's been in the making for quite some time now and features a gorgeous look powered by the CryEngine 3. Check out the new footage after the jump and see whether this might tempt you to put your current game down in the future.

[Thanks to Paul for the tip!]

Gas Powered Games laid off 80% of its workforce this week as the studio's future became uncertain. CEO Chris Taylor revealed that if his Kickstarter campaign for new action RPG Wildman fails, the company will have to close its doors. Jay Wilson stepped down as Diablo III's Lead Game Designer to move on to other projects but assured players that the game will continue to be regularly updated. With less than a week to go until Path of Exile opens its doors to the public, two Massively freelancers recently tried the game and delivered their verdicts.

Rise of Immortals released its new All Random All Mid game mode that promises short casual matches, while Dota 2 revealed its new Least Played mode that forces players to pick heroes they ordinarily avoid. Heroes of Newerth's new ranged agility hero, Bushwack, hit the servers last Friday, and League of Legends announced early details of its upcoming support champion, Thresh. For those who've ever wanted to get into competitive League of Legends gaming, Riot Games also published an infographic this week showing the path to this season's competitive championship tournament.

It's not exactly a secret that ArcheAge is a good-looking game, but did you know just how good-looking it can get? Thanks to the magical, wonderful power of Nvidia graphics cards, now we can.

XLGAMES and Nvidia teamed up for a video to show off the premium graphical effects that ArcheAge is capable of putting forth. The video continually turns effects on and off for comparison purposes, showing how much more defined the world can be with all of the effects turned on. These include anti-aliasing, depth of field, and some pretty nifty water motions.

Seeing is believing, and believing is after the jump!

Leaderboard: Lord of the Rings Online vs. Star Trek Online

            Leaderboard
IP-based MMOs are both a blessing and a curse. On the one hand, if they're done right they can be a gateway to the genre for those unfamiliar with MMOs as well as a fresh focal point for dedicated IP fans. On the other hand, IP-based games can take disastrous liberties with their source material that make for an off-putting experience. In some cases, they can also simply be bad games.

For today's Leaderboard we're pitting a couple of genre heavyweights against one another to see which proves more popular. Lord of the Rings Online and Star Trek Online aren't the only IP-based MMOs out there, but they've both been around for a while and are both reasonably successful. Which do you think does a better job of translating its source material into a fun MMO? Vote after the cut!

Ever wish that you could put to rest a long-standing MMO debate once and for all? Then welcome to the battle royal of Massively's Leaderboard, where two sides enter the pit o' judgment -- and only one leaves. Vote to make your opinion known, and see whether your choice tops the Leaderboard!

DK Online charges into open beta
After two months in closed beta, DK Online has opened its testing doors to everyone who wants to get in on the action. Now whether you prefer the style of the mighty Warrior, the subversive Shadowmage, the righteous Paladin, or the fire-flinging Sorceress, you can take on the role of a Dragon Knight to battle against the encroaching evil of Dark Knight Nox.

Along with open doors, this beta is bringing two new castles to fight for, a new level cap of 42, plenty of new monsters, a skills revamp, and the new land of Emtlant for players to explore. Aeria Games is also hosting a number of events during this time, such as GM hide and seek, a scavenger hunt, and a large-scale invasion. For more details on the events and to download the game, visit the official site.

Sometimes it's a little tricky to write about an MMO right before content releases. There's usually a definite slump in developer interactivity as the team prepares for what will inevitably be a very busy time. Star Trek Online is no exception to this rule, and this is one of those weeks.

We're still about two weeks away from celebrating Star Trek Online's third anniversary. To date, we have only a few ideas about what the anniversary celebration might entail, but not much else has been revealed by the team at Cryptic.

However, that doesn't mean nothing has happened. Quite the contrary! There are a few things to talk about this week, including some fun news that actress Denise Crosby has been tapped to participate in the game. So join me past the break as I touch on some of the fun stuff in STO that we're hearing about!

Dave Brevik defends the cost of Marvel Heroes' Ultimate Pack

                Posted: 21 Jan 2013 12:00 PM PST

No matter how much money you spend in League of Legends, you cannot play Rocket Raccoon there.
The idea of spending nearly $200 on a free-to-play title before it releases seems counterintuitive. Still, if you want the Ultimate Pack for Marvel Heroes, that's precisely what you'll need to do, a move that's sparked enough controversy for Gazillion's CEO Dave Brevik to comment on the pack.

While Brevik admits that the price is quite hefty, he emphasizes that it's a substantial long-term discount for players and isn't so unusual when you consider the variety of other games offering collector's editions at similar price points. He points out that he's already spent much more than that playing League of Legends through a variety of small purchases.

Brevik also takes the time to defend the game from other criticisms regarding its interface, graphics, and story, arguing that he is happy with the game in its current state while stressing that it is currently a beta. He also mentions that the pre-purchase packs are entirely optional and much of the content within can be earned within the game. Marvel Heroes is currently on track for a release in the spring of this year.

Chaos Theory: ARG expands The Secret World

Chaos Theory The Secret World ARG
If there is one thing that many MMOs have in common, it's in-game events. Just about every title has a least one event, often centered around holidays, where players do special tasks in-game and receive special gifts. The Secret World is no different, most recently running an apocalyptic event with Mayan zombies for players to trip over. But who says all events have to actually be in-game? Certainly not Funcom.

Among the other hooplah over the supposed end of the world last month, The Secret World fans were participating in the game's latest Alternate Reality Game (ARG). Set out in the real world, the ARG let anyone -- player or not -- experience the ambiance of TSW investigation missions by solving a set of conspiracy-laden tasks and receiving in-game rewards. While the first ARG was via Facebook, this one utilized email, a special website, and even text messages and tweets. Some missions were solo events, while others required the world-wide community to band together to complete. And there's nothing like a common goal to bring folks together (even in some unexpected ways!).

Didn't have a chance to play all the way through? It's not too late; the situation room is still open. Go ahead and put your thinking cap on and prepare to be drawn into a world of conspiracies, whether you play TSW or not.

A newbie in Heroes of Newerth: How patch 3.0 improves the MOBA experience

My first experiences in the MOBA genre went something like this: "What do you mean last-hitting and how come these towers keep shooting me? I'm a hero, for freak's sake!" to which my teammate would respond, "Quit feeding and die in a fire." It was a confusing and tumultuous time. Thankfully, the genre has taken a turn for the better, adding more in-depth tutorials, bot matches, and various other aids to help new players transition into the game and beef up the competitive numbers.

Heroes of Newerth is no exception. S2 Games is preparing to globally launch (yes, everywhere at the same time) patch 3.0 on January 31st, 2013, and it will include a lane full of visual enhancements, bots with customizable AI, and a stronger emphasis on teaching new players the ropes.

Could HoN establish itself as the MOBA for new players of the genre? We trekked to a demo in San Francisco last week to find out.

The Nexus Telegraph: Sci-fi commonalities to expect in WildStar

You can't take the sky from me. Unless you can.
There are certain bits that sort of obscure this fact, but when you get down to it, WildStar is a science fiction game -- a science fiction game taking lots of cues from more fantastical offerings and Westerns, but still science fiction at its heart. And that means that it has certain expectations from potential players, just like fantasy games are expected to have elves and superhero games are expected to have someone who is only distinguishable from Superman by the lack of a logo.

Here's the thing, though: Science fiction covers a pretty wide range of setting, so some of those expectations may or may not come to pass with the game. Today I want to talk about some of those reasonable guesses, the sort of thing that you just think has to be in a science fiction game. Is WildStar going to feature these elements? I'm not sure, but I can make some guesses (which might be proved wrong before the week is out, but guessing is fun like that).
