APB Reloaded Celebrates a Year as a Top-Five Free2Play Title on Steam

Posted: 29 Jan 2013 04:04 PM PST

APB War

Reloaded Games®, a leading publisher and developer of free2play® massively multiplayer online games, announced that the Company's pivotal open-world third person action game APB Reloaded™ continues to be a top-five free2play title on Steam®, a position held for more than a year. Launching to Valve's leading platform for digital content distribution and management back in December of 2011, APB Reloaded has demolished a major milestone in player loyalty, typically reserved for the industry's publishing elite.
As of the beginning of the first quarter of 2013, APB Reloaded resides as the fourth most-popular free2play game offered by Steam, besting gaming juggernauts and iconic brands like Lord of the Rings Online™, Star Trek Online, and DC Universe™. Thanks to a loyal player community and the hard work of Reloaded Productions, APB Reloaded has proven that addictive gameplay, and solid mechanics and infinite customization continues to resonate with new players and returning San Paro veterans alike.

APB Rocket Launch

"Being a visionary publisher usually means that everyone continually tells you that you won't succeed, and the run-away global popularity of APB Reloaded is validation that we have found something very special in the free2play space," said Reloaded Games' Chief Marketing Officer Rahul Sandil. "Industry pundits decried our decision to secure the rights to All Points Bulletin and make the game free2play. Game critics and non-supporters doomed APB Reloaded to obscurity once we officially launched, yet here we are, a year later, with global sell-through of the retail version in Europe, licensed distribution in Brazil and Russia, and the game remains a top five most-popular downloaded game on Steam."

In the coming weeks, APB Reloaded will introduce the Settling the Score update, with an improved District instancing mechanic, a new scoring system that balances arrests, kills and mission objectives, and new way for players to choose their own spawn point after death. Fans of the All Points Bulletin universe may want to remain alert; word on the street is that the rumor of an all-new APB experience may be revealed in coming months.

Conquer Online has announced the introduction of its newest class, the Oriental Assassin.

The assassin is a powerful long-range fighter, excellent both at hunting monsters and at single or group PvP. Based on Conquer Online’s “easy-to-learn” design concept, new players can also learn how to use their assassin quickly, getting you right into the action! You begin your training as a dedicated Archer, gaining the strength and ability needed to become an ancient assassin at Level 40.

A new US server will open on January 29 named after the new class, and several fun events have been planned for all players on the “Assassin” server to help boost their initial character progress, including a starter pack for all new characters.

With the Oriental Assassins unleashed upon the world, CO now has 2 different styles of legendary swords for hire, the Ninja and the Oriental Assassin. Who will prove the strongest?

The new in-game sounds will give players audible feedback for actions, which is intended to increase the enjoyment and atmosphere of the title. InnoGames plans to present more audio previews in the coming weeks.

Mercenaries Revealed for Ecol Tactics Online

Posted: 29 Jan 2013 02:33 PM PST

GamesCampus has announced details today on the four NPC mercenary classes available in Ecol Tactics Online.

“Players don’t enter the battlefield alone, and choosing the right mercenary to complement them is completely up to the player,” said Elliott Coward, Project Lead for Ecol Tactics Online. “Mercenaries become permanent party members – just like in a full client-based MMORPG, except Ecol Tactics Online is immediately accessible in a browser.”

Appearance, costumes, and customization are free for the player to edit for these four classes:

Cleric
Reading about strategy, triage, and practicing on paper cuts and boo boos wasn’t enough for this young buck. He left his family’s ridiculously large estate behind, along with all its wealth to join the Mercenaries Alliance. His craving for life experience leads him to Vermonics. Keeping his allies on their feet with heals and helping them recover from poisons, paralysis, Clerics find safety in the back of a group.

Mage
Trained in the ways of magic for decades, The Mage harnesses her power to control the battlefield. The Mage always carries a Staff but has been known to use wands from time to time. Summon powerful minions, control your opponents with spells, and deal damage over a large area. The Mage is nearly 120 years old but you won’t find a wart on this witch; it’s amazing what the arcane arts can do to your skin!

Fighter
Confident, brave and maybe a bit foolhardy, the fighter wields Swords, Daggers, Sabers, Katanas — basically anything sharp and pointy. Fighters control the battlefield by knocking opponents around into just the right position for the rest of his crew to finish them off! Fighters excel at positioning and melee area of effect attacks.

Archer
A silent huntress, bow always at the ready, agile and swift she attacks from long range with her formidable strength. Arrows imbued with magic apply poisons which stun, weaken and damage opponents. She excels at single target damage and crowd control, and has the longest range attacks in Ecol Tactics Online!
