When I think back to the launch of Final Fantasy XV back in 2016, I still can’t quite believe that Square Enix managed to get away with it all. Everyone might be kicking off now about separating the Final Fantasy VII Remake into multiple who-knows-how-many parts, but at least we know (hopefully) that they’re all going to be actual games. If you wanted to understand what the heck was going on in Final Fantasy XV, you had to watch a 110 minute CG movie called Kingsglaive first, then a five-part anime series called Brotherhood.
There was also an entirely separate (albeit promotional) game detailing the life and fun adventure times of the main character’s dad called A King’s Tale, and a real-life version of the in-game minigame, Justice Monsters Five. You didn’t need to play the last two to understand the story, but man alive, what a mad old set of affairs, eh? And that’s before we get to the whole DLC debacle.

Or to be more specific: the matter of alliance. Where does Europe stand? On the side of the US or China?
Let us first look at a few assumptions and a few facts. America, the democratic world power, is currently governed by a narcissistic president — a man seen to be vulgar, uneducated, and with a volatile character who lacks any sense whatsoever for institutions. Half of Americans and three quarters of Europeans have no respect for him.

The incident occurred after the jet suffered an "in-flight malfunction."
Pictures emerged on social media of an accident over the weekend at Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland involving an F-15C Eagle from the Oregon Air National Guard's 142nd Fighter Wing. The fighter skidded off the runway and lost its radome after making an emergency landing. The pilot did not suffer any injuries, thankfully.
Joint Base Andrews Public Affairs Office confirmed the mishap to The War Zone and said that it had taken place on May 2 at around 1:30 PM local time. There were no major impacts on the base's operations as a result.
The pictures showed that, in addition to the nose radome getting sheared away, the F-15C's landing gear collapsed and the drop tank under the aircraft's right wing got crushed. The jet's radar antenna, likely an active electronically-scanned array for the AN/APG-63(V)3, was also missing.

A top aide to President Trump on Monday delivered a critique of the Chinese government's efforts to clamp down on free speech in a speech delivered in Mandarin and seemingly aimed at the Chinese public.
Deputy national security adviser Matt Pottinger, who worked as a journalist in China early in his career, hailed two "brave" Chinese doctors who raised early alarms about the coronavirus and faced retribution from the Chinese government.
"When small acts of bravery are stamped out by governments, big acts of bravery follow," Pottinger said in remarks streamed for a virtual symposium held by the University of Virginia's Miller Center.
BEIJING (Reuters) - An internal Chinese report warns that Beijing faces a rising wave of hostility in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak that could tip relations with the United States into confrontation, people familiar with the paper told Reuters.
The report, presented early last month by the Ministry of State Security to top Beijing leaders including President Xi Jinping, concluded that global anti-China sentiment is at its highest since the 1989 Tiananmen Square crackdown, the sources said.
As a result, Beijing faces a wave of anti-China sentiment led by the United States in the aftermath of the pandemic and needs to be prepared in a worst-case scenario for armed confrontation between the two global powers, according to people familiar with the report's content, who declined to be identified given the sensitivity of the matter.
The report was drawn up by the China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations (CICIR), a think tank affiliated with the Ministry of State Security, China's top intelligence body.

The Trump administration projects about 3,000 daily deaths by early June.
As President Trump presses for states to reopen their economies, his administration is privately projecting a steady rise in the number of cases and deaths from coronavirus over the next several weeks, reaching about 3,000 daily deaths on June 1, according to an internal document obtained by The New York Times, nearly double from the current level of about 1,750.
The projections, based on modeling by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and pulled together in chart form by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, forecast about 200,000 new cases each day by the end of the month, up from about 25,000 cases now.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Trump administration is "turbocharging" an initiative to remove global industrial supply chains from China as it weighs new tariffs to punish Beijing for its handling of the coronavirus outbreak, according to officials familiar with U.S. planning.
President Donald Trump, who has stepped up recent attacks on China ahead of the Nov. 3 U.S. presidential election, has long pledged to bring manufacturing back from overseas.
Now, economic destruction and the massive U.S. coronavirus death toll are driving a government-wide push to move U.S. production and supply chain dependency away from China, even if it goes to other more friendly nations instead, current and former senior U.S. administration officials said.
"We've been working on [reducing the reliance of our supply chains in China] over the last few years but we are now turbo-charging that initiative," Keith Krach, undersecretary for Economic Growth, Energy and the Environment at the U.S. State Department told Reuters.

This pandemic crisis has open the doors for the White House to pursue a far more aggressive economic policy against China that if proposed a year ago, would have produced an enormous backlash. I do expect a number of companies will remain in China, but it will not be like it was in the past. Many will relocate to other countries, and some will return to the U.S.. I can easily see this happening first with medicines, supplements, and medical products.

In this article, I’ll give you a quick tutorial on how to send and receive text messages on your PC or Mac without using a phone at all in the process. There are a lot of SMS apps for PC and Macs, but in this article, I’m going to focus on three of the biggest and most popular. They are Pinger Textfree Web, Pushbullet, and MightyText. In addition, I’ll discuss the old standby Google Voice, as well as the little-known SMS messaging features of Skype.
Pinger Textfree Web
Pinger Textfree Web is a neat website that gives you a free online phone number and a textfree.us email address to use. You can use the account to send and receive texts as you see fit. When signing up, you need to provide a valid zip code and will then need to choose a phone number to assign to your account.
You’ll also need an outside phone number (like a cell number or a Google Voice number) to validate your account. Pinger Textfree Web runs as a web page, so you can use it from any PC, Mac, or even on a tablet or smartphone.
The Pinger Textfree Web interface is simple and easy to use. Your phone number is to the left and clicking on it brings up the text window. Type in your message and your recipient and hit send. Text messages seem to be sent out very quickly.
During my testing of this web app, there was a delay of fewer than two minutes between sending a text and seeing it received on the test phone I used. The service keeps track of your message threads just like an SMS app on your phone would.
The messages are stored on the Pinger servers, not locally, so if you have Internet connectivity problems you might have trouble accessing your message history.
The app also tends to fall behind when it has many long conversations to keep histories.
Pushbullet
Pushbullet works in a similar way to Pinger Textfree Web but requires you to download a small app to the computer you are using. There are apps for just about every operating system under the sun. That’s fine if you’re at home but not so great if you are locked out of a work computer. If you’re at work, use the browser extension instead if you can. You will also need to install the Pushbullet app onto your phone to sync the two.
Install the app and sign in with a Google or Facebook account on both instances of Pushbullet. From there you can select SMS from the menu, compose your message, add a recipient(s) and send the message.
Arriving messages and phone calls will trigger a Windows notification and you can reply directly or from the Pushbullet app. The app also integrates with Cortana but I didn’t try that part. Pushbullet seems to work quickly and effectively. Having to install stuff may be a no-go for those at work but otherwise, the app works well.
MightyText
MightyText also requires you to install a browser extension and mobile app but works well enough to make it worthwhile if you can do it. It only works with Android phones too which is another limitation. That aside, the app supports Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Opera, and IE. It works on desktops, mobiles, and tablets and has a very tidy UI.
Once installed, you sign in with your Google account and you will see a small MightyText icon appear in the browser window. You will also be sent to an authorization page that will allow Google to access MightyText. Once done, you will be returned to your browser and can use the SMS app the same way as these others.
Google Voice
If you’re in the U.S. Google Voice is still available should you want to use it. If you live outside the U.S. I’m afraid this option won’t work. The platform never got the attention or the investment it deserved but it still works solidly and can be a major part of your telecom strategy. There are rumors that Voice will be discontinued at some point but until then, you can use your Google number to send and receive SMS.
The sign-up process for Google Voice involves first selecting a local number in your area code, then signing up for the account. You will need a non-Google Voice phone number with which to validate your Google Voice number, and each Voice account you have will correlate to one Gmail account.
Once you’ve completed the Google Voice sign-up process, you will be returned to a very familiar interface that looks like any other Google app. On the left of the interface is a button to make phone calls and one to send text messages.
Hit Text and a popup window appear enabling you to add the recipient, type in the message, and then hit Send to send the text message. With Google Voice, SMS messages to the U.S. and Canada are free but you will have to pay to send text messages to recipients in countries outside the U.S.
How to receive SMS on PC without a cell phone – Send or receive text messages with Skype
If you use Skype, you can send and receive messages. It isn’t free like calls and video chats are, but it is cheap. It isn’t quite as fluid as these other apps as there is no sync between your phone and Skype. If you need to create a Gmail account without a phone number it’s possible, read this article.
You also need to configure a Sender ID to make it look like you are sending from your cellphone if you want that feature. If you do that, any SMS you receive will appear on your phone and not on Skype so you may not actually want to do that.
Otherwise, verify your cell number on Skype and add a payment method. Then in the main window where you add your message, select Skype where it says ‘via Skype’ and change it to SMS. Add the mobile number if you need to, or otherwise, select a contact, type your message, and hit Send. You can also text people who are not contacts by using the dialer.

Burner has to be the best-known way to get a temporary phone number. It’s a phone app that works in Canada and the U.S. and provides a second phone number for your existing phone. After a free trial, Burner is $4.99 a month. You choose a number and can keep it for as long as you like. When you’re done with it, press a button in the app and the number is burned. Choose another and you’re good to go.
Google Voice
Google Voice is a free-for-all unified communications solution. A single number can be set up to ring all your phones, mobile and landline. You select a number local to your city, tell it where to divert to and away you go. You can also call and text out and use the number as you see fit.
There are rumors that Google Voice is going to be retired but it hasn’t happened yet so this is a viable way to get another number. It’s free too as long as you live in the U.S. Google Voice is not available outside the States.
Hushed
I had never heard of Hushed but someone suggested it when I was canvassing for input for this article. It works a bit like Burner but with a lot more coverage. With access to 40 countries and some neat features, Hushed is definitely an app to consider.
It costs $3.99 a month for moderate usage and has a couple of extra security features. Texts can be set to self-destruct, defaults to WiFi so as not to use your minutes where possible and you can use multiple numbers on a single smartphone should you need to.
CoverMe
CoverMe offers temporary phone numbers and so much more. If you’re concerned about security or surveillance, this is an app to try. It not only provides a temporary number, but it also uses military-grade encryption for calls, offers self-destructing texts, private file sharing, and a private vault installed on your phone to keep things safe.
The downside is that encryption requires both parties to use CoverMe. All calls are routed between two networks regardless of whether they are encrypted or not. This alone would make surveillance almost impossible. Call using CoverMe does not appear on itemized bills and there is even a decoy password available as well as a real one.
Line2
Line2 is a more lifestyle-oriented service than the previous options. It extolls the virtues of having a cloud phone number attached to your real phone number. It offers both business and personal plans that include the U.S. or Canadian phone number, inclusive SMS and voice minutes, and the ability to use the number on a cellphone and desktop computer.
It is $8.30 a month to start but you get unlimited texts, 5000 minutes, a new number, LTE compatibility, group calling and messaging, and some competitive international call rates. There are no security options like those in CoverMe or Burner but as a legit second line, it delivers the goods.
TextNow
TextNow is a free application that you can download to your current phone. It features the option to make calls, send and receive texts, and choose the area code you’d like to have. This application is absolutely free and allows you to continue using the phone number you’ve chosen until you either quit using it or disable the app.
You can download Textnow from the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store. For one time use, or to keep the number for a while, this is an excellent, non-invasive, and free solution to getting a temporary number. The application uses wifi or your cellular data connection and is perfect for international communications.
If you’re just looking for a temporary phone number to use for a while, all of these services offer just that. A couple offer a whole lot more too which may offer some people more security than they need but are still neat features to have.

Building Your Online Business with Shopify
Setting up a Shopify account won’t take too long. But after you go through the process, your store is still on its baby legs. All of the vital Shopify settings will apply automatically, but you’re still left with a lot of customization.
You can choose the theme, add images, and install supporting apps. But more importantly, you need to build your shop menu. Creating Shopify menus is essential for building the navigation system of your online store.
You can add products, write blogs, create collections, and link to other pages. Before we explain how to add a drop-down menu on Shopify, let’s explain how to add and edit items on the main menu.
Open your Shopify admin page and select “Online Store>Navigation”.
From the Navigation page, select the menu that you want to change.
Select “Add menu item”.
Type in the title for the item. You can add emojis and special characters too.
Select the “Link” option and then choose the type of link. Or you can write in a web address that will lead to another page.
Select “Save menu”.
You can repeat the process as many times as you need to when building your store. When you want to make a change, just follow the same first two steps and then just select “Edit” on the menu items.
Then make the changes and select “Apply”. If you want to add items on the menu from iOS or Android app, the steps to add and edit items on the main menu are identical to the web portal.
Setting Up the Drop-Down Menu
Most online stores and businesses have drop-down menus that further group items on their page. Most customers expect this kind of navigation because it makes finding items easier.
Drop-down menus are usually nested under the top-level item on your page. For example, if you’re selling women’s clothing, one of the top-level items are Accessories.
From there, you can create a drop-down menu that further categorizes items into “Jewelry”, “Bags”, and “Watches”. But keep in mind that the top-level item can only have up to two nested items under it. To add a drop-down menu, follow these steps:
Open your Shopify admin page and click on “Online Store>Navigation”.
Select the title of the main menu.
Select a menu item for the header of the drop-down menu.
Add more menu items to your drop-down menu by selecting “Add menu item”. Type in the name of the item, and then add the link. If you don’t have the link yet, just type in “#”.
Select and drag the items to nest them under the header.
Select “Save menu”.
The way your main menu, as well as drop-down menu, will look will depend on which Shopify theme you’ve selected.

With Product Reviews, you can import and export reviews in the form of a spreadsheet, and manage them in a couple of clicks. You don’t need to publish or remove reviews one by one – there’s a convenient bulk actions feature to deal with them.
Adding the reviews will require a bit of coding. This may sound complicated at first, but if you carefully follow the steps explained in the Shopify official manual for this app, you’ll set up the feature in no time.

Open the Online Store and then click on Themes.

When you’re done, select Save.
If you’re using a non-sectioned theme, follow the instructions below:
Go to your Online Store and open the Themes section.
Select the desired theme and choose Actions.
From here, select Edit code.
From the Templates directory, click on product.liquid.
Choose where you want your reviews to appear on your products page and paste this: <div id=”shopify-product-reviews” data-id=”{{product.id}}”>{{ product.metafields.spr.reviews }}</div>
Select Save to complete the edit.
How to Manage Your Reviews
When you get started, you’ll probably want to turn off the automatic review publishing. This will allow you to check each review before they’re visible to everyone. To switch this feature off, follow the steps below:
From the admin dashboard, select Apps.
Click on Product Reviews and then choose Settings.
Find the Auto-publish option and select Disabled.
Select Save to keep your changes.
If you want to publish a review, choose Unpublished from Product Reviews and select the review you’d like to post. Click on Publish to confirm. Bear in mind that you can use bulk actions to publish a large number of reviews simultaneously. Bulk actions can also be used to unpublish, delete, or unflag reviews.
Follow the same steps to unpublish an undesired review. You can also remove it by clicking on Delete after you’ve selected the review you want to eliminate.
If you wish to post a reply to a review, do the following:
Open your admin panel.
Select Apps.
From there, go to Product reviews and choose the desired review.
You’ll be taken to the review page.
Type in your reply in the corresponding field.
Select Post reply to publish your message.

For Paper-I: Paper-I shall be of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.
Sixty (60) multiple-choice questions will be given, out of which the candidate would be required to answer any fifty (50).
Each question will carry two marks.
In the event of the candidate attempting more than fifty questions, the first fifty questions attempted by the candidate would be evaluated.
NOTE: All questions of Paper-II and Paper-III will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus (including all electives, without options.)
For Paper-II:
It shall consist of 50 objective type compulsory questions based on the subject selected by the candidate.
Each question will carry two marks.
For Paper-III:
Paper-III will consist of 75 objective compulsory questions from the subject selected by the candidate.
Each question will carry two marks.

New Delhi | Bengaluru: The onus to ensure that all private sector employees install the central's government's health app Aarogya Setu on their mobile phones cannot lie with the head of a company, according to MAIT, the country's hardware manufacturing body."Dereliction by an individual employee should not be a sword hanging over management," MAIT's chief executive officer George Paul told ET.The nodal industry grouping, which counts as its members global technology majors Cisco, Dell, Intel and Canon among others, will write to the government seeking a withdrawal of this punitive measure announced in the guidelines released by the ministry of home affairs while announcing the extension of the lockdown to stem the spread of Covid-19.'Enabling Feature to Resume Ops'"It is advisable that punitive measures on heads (of companies) be withdrawn," said Paul who took over as head of the industry lobby in April 2019."Heads of all organisations are equally keen to run their operations without the pandemic situation flaring up. So, any measures in that direction will be implemented. And the more data populated the app is, the more effective it will become," he said.An official from the ministry of electronics and information technology (MeitY) said this measure (installing the app) has been implemented on the demand of the services industry which wants to control the pandemic but at the same time wants the economy to also open up."While this may seem like it is being made mandatory, it should be seen from the light of an enabling feature which can allow businesses to start operations," the official said."Anyone who is in the red rating should not come to work, and only those who are green should step out. Privacy matters to that extent only and the larger economy of the country has to be also taken care of," said the official on condition of anonymity.MHA in its notification last Friday had allowed factories and offices in designated zones to begin operations while mandating the use of the contact tracing Aarogya Setu app by all employees while holding heads of respective organisations liable for 100% coverage. But, let's see how the enforcement is done," said Ashish Aggarwal, senior director at National Association of Software and Services Companies (Nasscom), the software lobby that has not received any expression of concern over the app from member companies.People who are voicing privacy concerns should look at the government's move of mandating employees from a health point of view and not data, Aggarwal said, pointing out that app can always be deleted, while the government has also clarified that data will be deleted in a specific time frame. NEW DELHI: The Vaccine Task Force (VTF) set up by Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for focused research on Corona vaccines has allowed research institutions and laboratories to use the patient samples for research and development (R&D) purposes and the government has framed detailed guidelines for sharing of bio-specimen and data for such research amongst institutions, reports Aman Sharma.This marks initiation of efforts at the government level to search for a coronavirus vaccine. In a letter to secretaries who have been asked to inform the concerned research institutes, the office of the principal scientific advisor professor K VijayRaghavan has asked research institutions which have received clearances from ICMR as Covid-19 testing-sites and wish to use samples for R&D, to inform the VTF about delineating the specific research intended to be undertaken. "The joint committee will examine each request where the R&D objectives and protocols are clearly presented and defined. Field applications and deployment of the R&D results will need necessary subsequent approvals following due process," the letter dated April 22, which ET accessed, has mentioned.
Kolkata: Coal India is incurring daily net cash losses of ₹190-200 crore as sales are down and customers are delaying payment. Before the lockdown, it managed daily cash profits of ₹50-60 crore. Executives said the company will struggle to pay for regular expenditure, half of which goes to pay salaries.In April, sales and production dropped 26% and 11%, respectively, compared to April 2019. Dues from state power companies rose to a record ₹16,500 crore towards the end of April from about ₹14,000 crore at the end of March.Before the lockdown, Coal India's daily cash earnings hovered between ₹260 crore and ₹270 crore, including government levies like taxes, cess and royalty. It is now hovering between ₹30 crore and ₹40 crore a day. 75545881"Following grievances lodged by consumers, the government has also asked subsidiaries to expeditiously release all security deposit refunds under expired fuel supply agreements to ease consumers' hardship during the current lockdown. Initially, we were planning to stagger this payment to manage our cashflow," a senior Coal India executive said.Before the lockdown, daily cash expenses were ₹210-220 crore including salaries, operational input costs and payment of levies to the government. Coal producing subsidiaries need to pay royalty and cess on the quantity of coal produced in a month. Although, fall in production reduced outgo including levies marginally, the reduction has been undone by additional outgo on account of security deposit refunds within a fixed timeframe. Expenses are currently hovering at ₹220-230 crore daily.Coal India has been reporting net profits over the last several years. During the quarter ended December 2019, it reported a total comprehensive income of ₹3,670 crore.ET had on April 27 reported that subsidiary Bharat Coking Coal didn't have funds to pay April salaries to its 42,000 employees since it received almost no payment from customers during the month. Its dues crossed ₹3,200 crore, one of the highest among subsidiaries.
Goldman Sachs Group Inc. and Morgan Stanley economists said there is evidence the world economy is starting to recover from the coronavirus and the restrictions placed on businesses and consumers."Economic activity has probably bottomed now," Jan Hatzius, chief economist at Goldman Sachs, said in a report to clients on Monday. "Lockdowns and social distancing are starting to diminish as many countries are cautiously reopening their economies."Goldman Sachs predicted advanced economies will contract an average 32% in the current quarter before growing 16% in the next three months and 13% in the final quarter of the year.At Morgan Stanley, chief economist Chetan Ahya said in a report on Sunday that "a number of the high-frequency indicators we track suggest that the global economy is in the process of bottoming out."75546180Consumers' expectations have improved, mobility trends have risen from their troughs and household spending is contracting more slowly than in the early weeks of the outbreak, he said."Our read is that China's economy bottomed in February, and we think the euro area has likely troughed in April with the U.S. following suit from late April," Ahya said.In a separate note also released on Monday, HSBC Holdings Plc economist James Pomeroy warned against betting on a "sharp turnaround in the global economy." He cited numbers from China suggesting consumer spending may be slow to bounce back as people will remain nervous about shopping or returning to work.As governments increasingly ease back on virus restrictions, another threat highlighted is the potential for a second wave of the outbreak, further disrupting activity."The biggest downside risk to the global economic outlook is that infection rates re-accelerate sharply as the economy reopens," Hatzius said. "After all, our recent analysis confirms that much of the medical improvement has resulted from lockdowns and social distancing."
NEW DELHI: iPhone makers Foxconn and Wistron are set to resume production after obtaining permission from state authorities in southern India, marking the restart of India's handset production that had to close down totally amid the Covid-induced lockdown, losing ₹20,000-25,000 crore.Foxconn also makes Xiaomi devices and Wistron is also the maker of Apple smartphones.However, companies such as Dixon, Samsung, Oppo and Lava, which have factories at Noida and Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh, continue to be in a limbo due to lack of clarity on starting operations.75541377Manu Jain, India head at Chinese handset maker Xiaomi, said its manufacturing partners will soon resume production after getting local approvals from state governments. Foxconn, Xiaomi's manufacturing partner, has received approval from the Andhra Pradesh government for the Sri City plant and will start production soon."The ramp-up will be slow. We are hoping them to be up and running soon," Jain said on Monday.Muralikrishnan B, COO at Xiaomi India, added the company expects to hit regular capacity by June, with labour shortage being a key issue.Ä person familiar with the matter said that Foxconn has got approval to resume production with 10% workforce, but getting people is a big challenge. Five in 10 organisations across industries are keeping their salary increment budgets unchanged, and around 36% of organisations have opted for decreasing the salary increment budgets, finds the KPMG in India's COVID-19 HR Practices Survey Report titled 'Cutting through Crisis.According to the survey, five in 10 companies have deferred or suspended their promotion schedule; at the same time a downward trend on promotions numbers across all job levels was observed wherein 33% of organisations admitted to having reduced it. However, most organisations in IT/ITES, life sciences/pharma and retail sector have refrained from any downwards trend in overall promotion cycle.Amidst the pandemic, organisations worldwide have taken steps to reevaluate their practices and do what's best to sustain amid tough times. For instance, a few organisations are implementing hiring freezes and wage freezes, while others are introducing remote working alternatives, revisiting employee engagement initiatives and additional financial assistance. The survey analyses the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on key human resource (HR) processes, policies and interventions across industries, as well as highlights the impact of the pandemic on a wide range of HR practices and processes like employee well-being, recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management and learning and development, etc.While 68% of the responding organisations admitted that they are mature to support remote working, only 48% are supporting their employees by providing laptops with secured connection to ensure smooth remote working. Seven in 10 organisations have re-defined their communication strategy to increase engagement of employees, virtual team meetings (70%) and briefing for employees by leadership (62%) being the top two leading engagement practices.The survey finds that more than 40% organisations in advisory, automobile, education, energy, oil and gas sector have opted to defer the increment cycle."The Covid-19 crisis has disrupted the business world with a radical impact cutting across industries. Organisations are navigating an unprecedented and challenging time and are collectively at a level playing ground as none had an upper hand of being better prepared or equipped to deal with the crisis.
