Heroes of Might and Magic III HD hits Steam, iOS, and Android today Posted: 29 Jan 2015 03:00 PM PST The beloved classic Heroes of Might and Magic III HD: The Restoration of Erathia has come to Steam, Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store and it's just as much fun as I remembered it. The classic high-fantasy aesthetic is still as cool as it was in 1999, and the gameplay translates surprisingly well to the iPad. All the content from the original release is intact, and offers multiplayer either through Steamworks on PC, or hotseat mode on iOS and Android. The only disappointment is that the source code has been lost for the two expansions, so the possibility of remastering them is up in the air.
February's Xbox One Games with Gold is already out Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:40 PM PST February's the shortest month of the year, but Xbox is artificially lengthening it by spilling it over into January. That's the only way to explain this month's Xbox One Games with Gold already popping up for free on the Xbox Live Marketplace. #IDARB is available and free right now on Xbox One for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. It was supposed to go up on February 1, but you can have it more than two days early. Why did #IDARB go up so soon? My best guess is that Xbox Live's servers just couldn't contain its wild, insane party ways. Try it out; you'll see what I mean. If not, we'll have a live look for you soon if all goes according to plan. #IDARB [Xbox]
Life is Strange: Episode One Achievement guide Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:00 PM PST It's always great when a game's Achievements exploit the mechanic or feature that the title does best. That's what Life is Strange's set does -- at least for the first episode. Almost everything in episode one can be unlocked through exploration. The sole exception is an Achievement for simply finishing. The Achievements that might prove difficult are for taking ten optional photos. Life is Strange has a chapter select feature that tells you how many photos in each section remain to be collected. However, make sure to select the option to "play this chapter in collectible mode" which will allow you to hunt without changing any choices you've already made. Everything from here on out may contain spoilers. Even the images for the Achievements are spoilers in that they give away what needs to be done. I've listed them in the order in which they appear, but I highly recommend playing through once at your own speed before using a guide to clean up. With all the formalities out of the way, an easy 200 Gamerscore's right around the corner!
Oh, nice, Future Press is doing a hardcover Bloodborne strategy guide Posted: 29 Jan 2015 01:00 PM PST I know, I know -- you don't need a guide for Bloodborne just like you didn't need any assistance with Dark Souls or Demon's Souls or King's Field. You're that good. Or, more likely, you just wanted to go in as blindly as possible. That's admirable and advisable. But, game art! Future Press is publishing a hardcover strategy guide for Bloodborne on March 24. It features an interview with director Hidetaka Miyazaki and contributions from prolific YouTuber EpicNameBro. I'm quite fond of his Dark Souls videos and, knowing this crowd, some of you are too. The guide is regularly $34.99 but Amazon's charging $22.93 for the pre-order right now.
| Rosalina amiibo Canadian fate confirmed: she's being redistributed to other retailers Posted: 29 Jan 2015 12:16 PM PST Recently we learned that because of Target's closures in Canada, the fate of the Rosalina amiibo was up in the air. Now we have solid confirmation of what's happening with the character. After days of silence, Nintendo has now confirmed that Rosalina will be redistributed to Best Buy, Future Shop, Wal-Mart, EB Games, Toys"R"Us, and Amazon.ca. In short, she will no longer be exclusive to one retailer in Canada. Pretty sweet! Keep checking Amazon.ca occasionally, as she has been going in and out of stock today. Now about that US Rosalina exclusivity... I'm just hoping she's available in mass quantities when she's expected to launch this Sunday. I'm still dreading the hypothetical announcement of Lucina's Walmart deal -- can you imagine the sheer amount of big box bungling with that theoretical situation? | Tales of Zestiria tops Japanese Charts, Kirby tanks Posted: 29 Jan 2015 12:00 PM PST Tales of Zestiria was the best-selling game in Japan last week, netting over 340,000 sales in its domestic debut, according to data compiled by Media Create. For reference, here's how previous entries in the series fared in their initial weeks at market:
Meanwhile, Legend of Legacy, a Nintendo 3DS role-playing game from Unchained Blades studio FuRyu, was the week's runner-up with 54,000 sales. Kirby and the Rainbow Curse was another notable new release, though its reception was rather tepid. Nintendo's pink puffball trailed at number three with a deflating 32,000 units sold. 「テイルズ オブ ゼスティリア」34万本。「レジェンド オブ レガシー」や「タッチ! カービィ スーパーレインボー」もランクインの「週間販売ランキング+」 [4Gamer via Siliconera] |

Review: Life is Strange: Chrysalis Posted: 29 Jan 2015 10:00 AM PST "If I'm not looking through a viewfinder, I'm looking through a window. Always looking." Max Caulfield, the introspective protagonist of Life is Strange, spends her life searching, observing. Actually, it might be more akin to wandering. She's 18, a newly minted "adult." Everyone keeps telling her how much life has in store for her, but she's more intent on the short-term -- just surviving one awkward social interaction after another. It's a situation that's easy to empathize with. Everyone's felt the uncertain pangs of adolescence, even the most sure-footed of people. Life is Strange gives the player a chance to walk in those shoes with Max -- to try to avoid the gaze of every set of judgmental eyes, and to skirt confrontational conversation lest things just get even worse. It can be weird and cringe-worthy at times, but, hey, doesn't that nicely sum up those formative years?
1996-style shooter Strafe looks like the start of something great Posted: 29 Jan 2015 09:15 AM PST I've greatly enjoyed the promotional work that's gone into Strafe, also known as STRAFE®, also known as "the goriest shooter of 1996." But beyond the head-exploding live-action throwback trailer, wonderful as that was (hehe), what's the deal with this game? Let's find out together. Strafe, as demonstrated in this ten-minute video, looks fast and fun. I like how blood permanently sticks to floors and walls. I like those Doom-style lifts. I like that projectiles come at you just slowly enough that you can reasonably dodge them. And the plodding level-exit door? Perfecto. I'll be curious to see where Pixel Titans takes the game if and when Kickstarter funding is secured.
2015's LEGO game lineup: Avengers, Jurassic World, mobile ports Posted: 29 Jan 2015 08:30 AM PST This latest round of LEGO games will do wonders for Brett's Gamerscore. Several titles are releasing in 2015, including LEGO Jurassic World, which hits in June and spans all four films, and LEGO Marvel's Avengers, which is out this fall and covers the events of The Avengers and Age of Ultron. That darned apostrophe + s is going to exponentially annoy me with each passing post. These games will be playable on PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, and 3DS. It feels awkward to robotically write it out like that, and slipping in a "joke" platform to ease the tension is beyond cliché by now. This is how supervillains are born, people. As for those iPhone/iPad ports, there's The LEGO Movie Video Game (out now), LEGO Ninjago: Shadow of Ronin (March 27), and LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham (spring). No thanks.
Dem bones: The best skeletons in video games Posted: 29 Jan 2015 08:00 AM PST I've been playing tons of Grim Fandango ever since the remastered version came out a few days ago, and it's left me with skeletons on the brain... and in the closet. This led me to thinking about more skeletons in games. There's a lot of them! While most video game skeletons are relegated to simple enemy fodder, there are still plenty of standout skellies out there. Why not write about 'em? Here are ten of the best skeletons in video games, no bones about it!
Ermac joins Mortal Kombat X roster Posted: 29 Jan 2015 07:21 AM PST Ermac is the latest Mortal Kombat X roster addition. You can see him in action right now on the NetherRealm Twitch stream below. You can also spot Kitana and Reptile on the character select screen. Those two will be played on the next stream. This is all Ermac, baby. They're showing off his final variation right now. Mortal Kombat X launches April 14 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
Majora's Mask gets a cute lil '90s-feeling, live-action commercial Posted: 29 Jan 2015 07:15 AM PST In a fitting tribute to the days of polygonal graphics that didn't play well on air, Majora's Mask 3DS has a nice little commercial you wouldn't be surprised to see stationed between episodes of Rocko's Modern Life and Doug. Not that these have all washed away. Sony does more cool-teen-targeted live-action commercials still, while anything about Pokemon on TV tends to look just like this Majora's Mask trailer, with obscure forest settings. This is a bit more spooky, though.
How long can you survive in Out There: Omega Edition? Posted: 29 Jan 2015 07:00 AM PST Out There: Omega Edition by Mi-Clos Studio is certainly a pretty little thing. Don't let its eye-catching pulp-comic appearance fool you, though. It's a difficult game. Think Oregon Trail meets FTL and you'll have a good idea of what the studio is going for here. You'll jump from one star to another, burning through precious resources as you go; hoping beyond hope that your next jump will put you in a position to scratch up just enough fuel to continue on your journey. Although admittedly a difficult game by design, it's actually quite relaxing to play. If you enjoy the randomness of a roguelike and don't mind the constant threat of permadeath, Out There: Omega Edition could be a fun addition to your library. Currently, the game is available in beta form on the Humble Store for $8.99. By pre-ordering you'll get instant access to the beta on Steam, Out There Classic for Android (that will update to the Omega Edition for free) and you'll get the Early Access version of the game when it launches sometime in March or April.
Jump'N'Shoot Attack! aims to be the next big anti-mobile game Posted: 29 Jan 2015 06:30 AM PST It wasn't that long ago that auto-run platformers were novel, even quaint. Bit.Trip RUNNER, Canabalt, Vib-Ribbon, and even Anthony Burch's Runner all managed to get out to the market before Endless Runner stigma became a part of gamer culture. If you tell people these days that you're putting out an auto-scrolling platformer on iOS/Android, they'll roll their eyes at best, and do awful internet things to you at worst. If you are one of those eye-rolling people, this game was made for you. Jump'N'Shoot Attack! has more in common with a shmup like Gradius than something like Temple Run. Prior FreakZone Games releases like Manos: The Hands of Fate and Angry Video Game Nerd Adventures were unabashed tributes to the NES era of gaming, and Jump'N'Shoot Attack! is no different. It wears its love of Contra, Metroid, and Mega Man prominently on its sleeve. The game also isn't shy about thumbing its nose at modern conventions of mobile gaming. The creator of Jump'N'Shoot Attack! feels "...many gamers don’t have much interest in mobile gaming due to 'virtual buttons' not being responsive enough, and the 'free to play' model offering 'endless' games with no goal other than to pay more money for more unnecessary features. Jump’N’Shoot Attack has been designed and built with these people in mind, the two-touch control scheme is perfect for a touch-screen, the game has a beginning, middle and end, the challenge is high with no loss of responsiveness, and the game is to be sold at an upfront price with no IAP or ads." If more games like this prove to be successful, maybe "pay-to-win" gaming will start to loosen its stranglehold on the mobile market. We'll know soon enough, as Jump'N'Shoot Attack! is set for release any day now.
| School of Ragnarok is Square Enix's 1-on-1 arcade fighter Posted: 29 Jan 2015 06:15 AM PST If you are in Japan or going sometime this year (and want to take me with you!), you can play Square Enix's newest title, School of Ragnarok. The one-versus-one fighter is more of a Gundam VS (or maybe Square's own Dissidia) than a typical fighting game. As of right now, it's an exclusive title for arcades all around Japan. Maybe if it proves successful we'll see console ports, maybe even localized ones. Probably not, actually. But enjoy the announcer yelling "School of Ragnarok" in the trailer. | Moon Chronicles gets a season pass, three more episodes coming next month Posted: 29 Jan 2015 06:00 AM PST Renegade Kid has unveiled a new plan for Moon Chronicles, as more is on the way next month. On February 5, episodes 2, 3, and 4 will drop for $4.50 apiece. Or, if you're in a more carefree mode of operation, $9 for the lot. Since the first episode already exists, the rest is basically an add-on for the previous package. Europe is still MIA in terms of a release of any kind. |
Resident Evil is The Beatles, The Last of Us is The Offspring Posted: 29 Jan 2015 05:30 AM PST Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is the latest episodic game series about a grizzled man with a dark past protecting a mysterious child survive a zombie or zombie-like danger scenario. Our own Alessandro Fillari recently had the chance to get some time in with the Barry Burton side of the game's campaign, as well as the new iteration of its score-focused Raid Mode. Both of these modes may be a little more strange than Alessandro led you to believe. Either that or he just has a much higher tolerance for weirdness than I do. From where I stand, this game looks bananas. This video was initially planned to be about a minute long, working as little supplement to Alessandro's write-up. Before I knew it, I was seamlessly splicing together sound-alike pop songs from different generations of music history, giving The Last of Us a new name, making a supercut of some of Barry Burton's best lines from Revelations 2, and erasing the whiteness around the one and only Sherlock Hemlock. If you have half as much fun watching this video as I had making it, then you're about to have an above-average amount of fun.
You can slice the Moon in half in next week's Hyrule Warriors DLC! Posted: 29 Jan 2015 05:15 AM PST In this trailer overviewing the Majora's Mask DLC for Hyrule Warriors, we get to see Young Link don the Fierce Deity's mask and cut the Moon in half. My dark fantasy has finally been realized. There's more excitement abound: Tingle's dramatic leg jiggle; Darunia wearing the Goron mask; that low-fi rendition of the Clock Tower tune. I am all about this. It's releasing February 5 for $7.99 as a standalone or at no additional charge if you already own the $19.99 DLC bundle.
Flippy platformer Antipole is coming to the eShop in DX form Posted: 29 Jan 2015 05:00 AM PST It's been a while since we've heard anything about the Antipole franchise, a game that originally launched in 2011 on the DSi. It's about to get a whole lot more relevant though, since developer Saturnine Games is bringing it to the 3DS and Wii U eShop. The remake is called Antipole DX, and will feature a new visual style as well as remixed legacy stages and new levels. Leaderboards are in as well. For those of you who didn't get in on the original, this is a great gateway. Antipole Gets the DX Treatment in Flip to 3DS and Wii U [Nintendo Life]
| The Mega Man Universal Fighting System card game is getting new decks Posted: 29 Jan 2015 04:30 AM PST Mega Man Universal Fighting System is a neat officially licensed card game from Jasco. The presentation is great based on the tin box alone, and the actual mechanics are easy to pick up. If you're into the game you'll be able to pick up a new expansion this year, titled "Rise of the Masters." These boosters will add in new cards as well as a play mat. By "boosters" I mean those old-fashioned decks that have 10 random cards in them -- man I spent way too much on Magic and Pokemon boosters back in the day. | Review: Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare: Havoc Posted: 29 Jan 2015 04:00 AM PST Call of Duty map packs are definitely a mixed bag. Fifteen dollars is pricey by any standards, and the prospect of one or two remade maps and a grand total of four arenas isn't anything to get excited about. Advanced Warfare's new Havoc DLC has just arrived this week on Xbox platforms, and it's par for the course in terms of what you'd expect. As usual though, zombies save the day. |
Get hard with Battlefield Hardline open beta Posted: 29 Jan 2015 03:30 AM PST Today, EA announced that the Battlefield Hardline open beta will begin February 3 and end on February 8. If you haven't had a chance to play EA's version of cops and robbers, now is this time. Well, technically February is the time. Regardless, this will be an open multiplayer beta for anyone with a PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, or Xbox 360. EA has promised some big changes since we last played Hardline, so now we'll be able to see for ourselves.
Nintendo Download: Gunman Clive 2 Posted: 29 Jan 2015 03:00 AM PST The Wii U eShop is getting more exciting today with the release of Metroid Prime Trilogy for $9.99. I still have my lovely hard copy safe with the rest of my Metroid collection, but considering how rare it is, I'm glad everyone else will get a chance to try these great games out. You'll also be able to pick up Rock ’N Racing Off Road, Frenchy Bird, and Shadow of the Ninja. The 3DS is equally awesome with Gunman Clive 2, which is launching for just three bucks. Look for a review soon. Also launching is Sumico, Drop Zone: Under Fire, Jewel Quest: The Sapphire Dragon, and Shadow of the Ninja, as well as two new Mario and Luigi mustache themes. Oh, and one more thing -- a Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. demo, people!
Transistor, Yakuza 4, Thief coming to PlayStation Plus Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:45 AM PST Boy howdy, next month's PlayStation Plus lineup is exciting. Starting February 3, PS Plus subscribers will have access to Transistor and Apotheon on PS4, Yakuza 4 and Thief for PS3, Kick & Fennick on Vita, and Rogue Legacy across all thee platforms. The jury still appears to be out on Driveclub. Sorry, Sony. We haven't forgotten. PlayStation Plus: February’s Free Games [PlayStation Blog]
| Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax coming to PS3, Vita Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:30 AM PST Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is coming west this summer, Sega just announced. The crossover project celebrates the 20th anniversary of Dengeki Bunko, pitting characters from Sword Art Online, Spice & Wolf, and other series against one another. Familiar faces from Sega's catalog, including Virtua Fighter's Akira Yuki and Selvaria of Valkyria Chronicles fame, also join the fray as unlockable characters. Moreover, the rings themselves draw inspiration from Sega titles like Sonic the Hedgehog and Phantasy Star Online. The fighting game was developed by Ecole Software and French Bread, who you might know from their work on Melty Blood and the upcoming Under Night In-Birth. Dengeki Bunko: Fighting Climax is planned for a summer release on PlayStation 3 and Vita via both PSN and your favorite brick-and-mortar retailers. | Misanthropes rejoice: Evolve's solo mode is looking good Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:15 AM PST Sometimes I am in the mood for good competitive multiplayer action, and thus far Evolve has looked like it will be up to that task. Other times, I'd rather not deal with other people, and that's okay with Turtle Rock's multiplayer-focused shooter. It turns out it has an offline mode that looks good. Who knew? (Maybe you did; I haven't been following that closely.) The bigger draw for most players is that achievements and unlocks will be consistent across single player and multiplayer modes, so a newly unlocked (or purchased) monster can be taken for a ride against a group of bots before going out into the "real world," as the commentators in the video above describe. The video is a long one at 22 minutes, but it shows off the Defend mode from both sides. One man plays as the Wraith against a team of four bots, then switches sides and plays as the entire Hunter team against the monster. One neat thing is the ability to switch between Hunters on the fly. The player in the video takes full advantage of this, setting traps with support characters, switching to assault to deal damage, then switching to medic to heal up. In some ways, it almost seems like it would be more difficult to handle the Hunter team all alone rather than to serve as one role in a group of humans. |
OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood debuts its first trailer Posted: 29 Jan 2015 02:00 AM PST OlliOlli took off like a storm after it hit the Vita. While it was an unassuming indie skating game, its quality spoke for itself, and it's a certified success at this point. Developer Roll7 didn't rest on its laurels though, as the studio is now showing off its first footage for the sequel, OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood for the PS4 and Vita. It'll feature new tricks, a local multiplayer mode, new environments, and multiple routes. The development team notes that it has tried its hardest to make every stage feel unique, and four players will now be supported by way of split-screen. Yep, I'm very interested in this. The current release window is still "2015."
Real life Ryu wrecks car with his bare hands Posted: 29 Jan 2015 01:30 AM PST I hope that car was non-running and cheaper to junk than fix, or else that's a waste of a perfectly good little car. Not that we all haven't thought about letting the aggressions out and possibly hurting ourselves while destroying some property. Just think about taking a baseball bat to some cheap, boardwalk-prize glassware. I could go for one of those right now.
Combo Queen brings jiggle physics to an SNES aesthetic Posted: 29 Jan 2015 01:00 AM PST It's not that animated breasts are all Combo Queen has going for it. They're just the first thing I noticed clicking around the trailer and ending up on a bouncy idle animation. The pixel art here is rather lovely, but I don't have an iAnything and, understandably, the Android version is "coming soon," so I won't be playing it yet. It can be hard to tell from trailers what is going on in phone games. What is player controller and what is automated. Given that this is described as a "hack and slash action RPG hybrid runner," the latter part of the descriptor is probably most telling. Still, if it leans more on the side of a tap happy rhythm game, I'm fine with that so long as it's done right.
Badland is coming to consoles with a Game of the Year edition Posted: 29 Jan 2015 12:30 AM PST Badland is still one of my favorite iOS games to date, and it looks like it's coming to the Wii U eShop, Xbox One, Vita, PC, PS3, and PS4. Developer Frogmind Games is crafting a new Game of the Year version for the console, which adds in 100 solo levels and 100 co-op stages. There's no set date yet but we can likely expect it in 2015. Some of you may scoff at the "Game of the Year" notion, but many mobile sites legitimately awarded the game with that honor in 2013. It's definitely worth checking out, as co-op worked great, even on an iPad.
Here are all of Majora's remastered masks Posted: 29 Jan 2015 12:00 AM PST The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask is coming to 3DS, if you've missed the hype around it or its limited edition New 3DS XL. Holmes wrote one of my favorite pieces of last year about it, right here. while Ben "bbain" Davis recently waxed nostalgic about it here. We have lots of feelings about Majora's Mask, collectively. And Majora's Mask has lots of masks. I was wearing my segue master mask just then. Anyways, they're below. If you haven't played the game yet, maybe don't look at them.
Super Smash Bros. Wii U unlocks more existing 8-player levels Posted: 28 Jan 2015 11:30 PM PST If you're itching to play more levels in Super Smash Bros. Wii U 8-player mode, you're in luck, as 15 whopping existing stages have been added to the mix as a result of the 1.0.2 update. Now you'll be able to enjoy arenas like Pokémon Stadium 2 and Mario Circuit, with a random mix of regular (nine) and Omega (six) variants. Some of the stages have had a few tweaks, like the lack of reflections in the mirror in Wii Fit Studio, and so on. Check below for the full list. Super Smash Bros. [Nintendo -- Thanks, Jeff!]
BootChess beats 32-year-old record for smallest chess game at only 487 bytes Posted: 28 Jan 2015 11:00 PM PST Today's trend seems to be leaning towards larger and larger installs, some clocking in at 40+ GB. Developers are concentrating on bigger textures, lossless sound, and zero compression. Even patches can be multiple GB, many of them required on release. There are some though that challenge themselves to do the opposite, to build a game using the least amount of space possible. For 32 years the smallest chess program was 1k ZX Chess (actually taking up only 672 bytes of memory) for the Sinclair ZX81 programmed by David Horne. The ZX81 came with 1kB of memory, so the game was programmed more by necessity than desire, with the whole program fitting on just two magazine pages. It featured a functional AI to play against and was written in pure Assembly.
Nintendo's 2015 Wii U and 3DS release schedule Posted: 28 Jan 2015 10:00 PM PST Steven already brought you the hardware and software sales figures that capped off Nintendo's 2014, so let's take a look at what's ahead for Japanese, European, and North American 3DS and Wii U players. It's release schedule time! Break out the reading glasses. Either hit the .pdf link below, or follow these (first-party, third-party) for .jpg excerpts. I believe in SMT X Fire Emblem. But, failing a timely release, the new Fire Emblem looks real nice. Earnings Release for the Nine-Month Period Ended December 2014 [Nintendo]
Years later, Torchlight II is almost ready for Mac Posted: 28 Jan 2015 08:00 PM PST You mean to tell me 2012's action-RPG Torchlight II isn't already available for Mac? Oh. I see. Well, props to Runic Games for not abandoning the task, then. Maybe I'll play it on my next flight. The Mac version of Torchlight II hits Steam on Monday. This solemn trailer says as much, but you'll still want to stick around for Falcor the Papillion. Be still, my heart. I'm also fond of Runic's official announcement email for the release date, viewable below. *Spooky scary skeleton warning*
| Super Smash Bros. for Wii U contains a ton of unused data Posted: 28 Jan 2015 07:00 PM PST
Some people make it a hobby to find out everything they can about a game, inside and out, and these data miners have been poring over the code of Super Smash Bros. since release. Over the last couple of months, bits and pieces pointing to cut content have been found, seemingly confirming director Masahiro Sakurai's claims that there was a rush to get the game out on time. This video from GameXplain has a good rundown on much of the data, including:
I think the game is great as is, but it would have been cool to have even more stuff. Maybe this cut data is a window into the next iteration of the Super Smash Bros. series. Smash Bros. Wii U data mining reveals another round of unused data, potentially removed content [GoNintendo] |
Speedrunner hilariously breaks Psychonauts as its developers watch in horror Posted: 28 Jan 2015 06:00 PM PST More fun times from Double Fine's Devs Play series. This episode, if you've seen the exceptional Lion King and Doom videos already, is centered on the studio's own baby, Psychonauts. Double Fine founder Tim Schafer and co. filed into a room to watch speedrunner Stephen "SMK" Kiazyk do his thing and boy, the ribbing was on point from both sides. Love the back-and-forth here, with random shouts from the crowd as glitches pop up. "I didn't work on that!" And, haha, the anti-climactic ending: "Yeah, that's Psychonauts."

Indigo Prophecy gets an HD trailer, downed Amazon page Posted: 28 Jan 2015 03:30 PM PST Hey, Indigo Prophecy is looking pretty good. I wish this remaster would've picked a name and stuck to it, though. Calling it Fahrenheit: Indigo Prophecy is just kind of messy and goes against naming your game good. Only problem is that this remaster is supposed to come out tomorrow and its Amazon page is down, though you can buy the 2005 version for $10. All the "buy" links on the remaster's website are down except the Mac and Linux versions through GameAgent. And the earlier Amazon link was just giving people Steam keys, but it's not listed on Steam. Hopefully it'll be sorted out by tomorrow's launch. I liked, but never finished Indigo Prophecy after the game froze on me and I lost progress and interest with a stunning simultaneity. I think it's worth checking out just for the intro, though.
