World of Warcraft still worth playing?

Posted: 23 Jan 2015 09:29 PM PST

“World of Warcraft” is the most “popular MMORPG Online game” published by Blizzard Entertainment having servers across the globe with players counting around 400 millions.

World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft also called as “WoW” on short is one of “most played MMORPG” across the globe having development center in Germany and support centers in USA is based on pay2play  model even though Blizzard Entertainment allowed World of Warcraft played for free till level 20.

I have played World of Warcraft till the end content yet I feel I haven’t quenched the Online Gaming thirst and I feel the same may be running through you guys too:)

I have payed like a hell to buy so may items, monthly subscriptions, OOPS amount of money and yet I feel that players who use mods, Ha*ks win the most, if you are like a player like me who tends to do things in legal ways then I would say that you better off from playing World of Warcraft in short as you tend to love the game and finally finding yourself in ditch status. Awch! I know how it hurts :<

I have had World of Warcraft game masters run to me and say YO!  Stop running on players.

World of Warcraft Gameplay

What I feel is that Blizzard Entertainment is milking money from players in the form of World of Warcraft game. I have too been the victim of “World of Warcraft game“. What to do I can’t leave without it! But I had to :(

I know you as a “World of Warcraft Online Game“player will surely disagree to this point If I say You are just a dumb ass to “play World of Warcraft“.

Yes, I have been a pom-pom buster when I am playing World of Warcraft. If you are paying just to play World of Warcraft by wasting countless hours, doing nothing in life, just hitting computer keyboard just to defeat some player, farming to get some gold, running through quests to get some dumb legendary weapon to get lastly banned!!! OMG LOL :>

That was my 2 cents on playing World of Warcraft :)  What do you think “Is Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Still Worth Playing?

Do let me know What do you think? In the comment form bellow :)

Dark Avenger new class enters Dragon Nest MMO Online Game

Posted: 23 Jan 2015 08:26 PM PST

“Dark Avenger” a new special class enters “Dragon Nest MMO”, a game developed by Eyedentity games, published by Actoz Soft, Shanda Games.

Dragon Nest MMO Online Game

Dark Avenger, a special class is that cannot be enjoined as an advanced class of any class. This class has to created from scratch and yet has no advanced class.

What I found from various sources is that at around level 50 dark avenger would receive a unique ability what we call it as skill hat can be activated  only once and cannot be reused as the skill consumes 1 avenge every 3 seconds. Dark Avenger in dragon nest become formidably powerful  when he is in party and is buffed combined with his fire ability.

Yet what I am still confused ‘Whether Dark Avenger is hack and slash character it is just another play a like class in dragon nest online game?’

Dragon Nest Dark Avenger

When searched on Google I came across a video which shows the uniqueness of Dark avenger in Dragon Nest which I call as “Dragon Nest Dark Avenger Gameplay Video”

Eyedentity Games has released a “short intro video of Dark Avenger from Dragon Nest”

It seems that Dark Avenger is available in Korean Servers and I am not sure when Dark Avenger will be available in English and other Global Dragon Nest Servers.

First impression on iPhone 6 Plus

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:57 AM PST

Apple iPhone 6 Plus
courtesy: gsmarena.com

We thought at first that Apple would not explore to larger screen phones as they are known with their smaller iPhones by model but because of the larger demand of the smartphone market on larger screens, we think that Apple took a risk on creating a phablet they hope to be as competitive against present phablets out now in the market.

But the question is: Does the iPhone 6 Plus have the features needes to compete with other leading phablets in the market? Join us in finding out what’s beneath the new iPhone 6 Plus.

iPhone 6 Plus make just look like the big brother of iPhone 6- which has larger screen and longer battery life in the cost of pocketability but today, remember that many consumers believes that bigger is better. Which is why we find the move of Apple good in creating a phone which caters to majority of the market.

The iPhone 6 Plus is powered with an A8 processor, built in a 5.5-inch 1080p screen and fueled with an upgraded battery which can stay for as long as 80 hours on standby mode. It may not have the same octa-core processor of Sams7ng but remember that iPhone focuses more on the user experience and not just on performance alone.

The device may be uncomfortable holding at first due to its large size but it feels light on the other hand as its only 7.1mm thick. It’s made from materials found on the iPhone 6, with the same metallic / ceramic feel which we can compare to the iPad Air. Lastly, the round edges which we often see on iPhones perfectly fits on the device. In fact, it looks and feels nice on the bigger iPhone.

With its big screen, the iPhone 6 Plus is expected to have great display. Apple has done a great job in building the iPhone 6 Plus with a 1920×1080 screen, to differentiate it from the iPhone 6. This basically means that you’ll get a more rewarding experience in terms of vibrant and clearer visuals on the screen. In addition, the iPhone 6 Plus has an upscaler to allow apps to look great without the developer having to do anything about its resolution to fit in the new device.

Even if we have said earlier that the iPhone 6 Plus focuses on user experience, this does not mean that they are lacking on the performance department. Users can now have the luxurious experience they did not receive from iPhone 5S, with the iPhone 6 Plus having increased processor and larger screen size. The 50% increase in processing, combined with the 100% increase in battery life could mean that Apple may finally solve the problem on how to prolong their iPhone’s battery life.

Also, it’s expected that the iPhone 6 Plus will bring quality gaming experience to users. The bigger screen with high quality resolution and as well as its gripability ensures a great experience in terms of gaming. In opposite, we can safely assume that the device will be less use as a phone. It will be more towards the usability as a tablet than a phone whose uses focuses on communication.

However, this doesn’t mean that iPhone 6 Plus falls short on this department. In fact, we find it more efficient as a phone than its predecessor, the iPhone 5S. The larger screen is a good news as it enhances the messaging capabilities of the phone. Compared to iPhone 5S which has smaller keys to peck on, the iPhone 6 Plus offers increase ability to type giving consumers a more easier way of texting with others.

The biggest addition to the newest iPhone devices (including iPhone 6 Plus) is Apple’s Pay System which you can use both in offline and online. In offline mode- you just only need to select a card from Passbook, hold the phone to the payment terminal, use TouchID to verify your fingerprint and you’re done. While in online, the Apple Pay System works similarly like Paypal- it also has a dedicated button you can use to pay, and if you’re using a phone with a fingerprint scanner then you can use that for verification and not tapping out a password. The Pay system both works well in offline and online however, the only downside is its exclusiveness. Apple Pay needs and iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus to work at the moment, as you’ll need the NFC chip inside to enable contactless payments.

In terms of its camera, the iPhone 6 Plus has the same 8MP sensor camera with improved iSight, like the iPhone 6. It’s a very adept camera which has the ability to record 240fps slo-mo and paired with the large screen, it’s safe to say that the iPhone 6 Plus fairs well with other tablets out now in the market.

However, Apple did change something to differentiate the two new devices. They made sure that the larger device would stand out as they have given it an optical image stabilisation, rather than the digital method used on the iPhone 6. This means that images are clearer, less blurry and can even take in more light thanks to being more stable when pressing the shutter button.

Last to discuss is its pricing. When users choose one of T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plans, they can get the 16GB iPhone 6 Plus with $0 down and can be paid off in 24 equal monthly payments of $31.24. The total cost is equal to an off-contract phone, which $750.

iPhone 6 Plus is really a good deal for a phablet. It may not have an octa-core processor, or it may be too expensive, but it will not be left by other phablets out in the market. The iPhone 6 Plus is a sure winner in terms of fabulous design and great screen technology. And, just imagine what it can do when Apple releases the iOS 8 with Metal Upgrades on it

Level 80 Pure PVE Physician Skill Build in Dragon Nest Online MMO

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:49 AM PST

Build for PURE PVE Physician – Dragon Nest MMO

Academic Line:
Mind Conquer: Lvl1: Same with MP Mastery, I set it to level 1 to give way for Stun Grenade. Just pray that your INT is high enough or you have an LF in your party if you got mana problems.

Wax: Max Lvl: Max level has a 16.5 sec. CD, which is the most essential skill for team mobility by an Academic class
Stun Grenade: Lvl 14: I didn’t max it for my Alchemist build later. 75% stun rate has a good proc chance in PVE if you want some mobs to be stunned for crowd control purposes. If you want to see a no-stun grenade academic build, go check my Adept build.

Dragon Nest Physician Build

Alchemist Line:
Magma Wall: Max Lvl: Even in Phys revamp, this skill can still pack a punch even if a physician lacks FireAtk. so i suggest you max this skill
Magma Wave: Lvl. 6: After the Phys revamp, people prefer Mixed infection since it is now more powerful than Magma Wave (for this skill is the magma wave equivalent of a Physician) but Mixed infection’s casting time and AOE compared to Magma Wave 5 bubbles sucks so I leave it to Level 6 for mob clearing purposes. It’s still a good filler DPS move if all Physician Burst skills are in CD for level 6.
Injector: Max Lvl:Physician revamp removes healing ability of Injector but makes it into a buff that raises movement speed and action speed to 5secs. At max, this buff can increase MS ans AS by 36% (37% with skill ring)
Poison Charging Max Lvl: Physician revamp increases its damage by 100%. Max Lvl has a damage calculation of 631%+8936 (which is pretty high)
Disease: Max Lvl: Physician revamp make the poison status into Plague status. Max level since this is the Magma punch equivalent of Physician and can pack a punch with a decent amount of DarkAtk.
Mixed Infection: Max Lvl: This skill is now the Magma Wave substitute for Physicians: Revamp makes Mixed Infection use the Bubble System where 3 bubbles gets +100% damage while 5 bubbles gets 200% damage.
Poison Break: Max for Physician Revamp. Revamp makes Poison Break use the Bubble System where 3 bubbles gets +100% damage while 5 bubbles gets 200% damage
Poison Pool: Max for Physician Revamp. Revamp makes Poison Pool use the Bubble System where 3 bubbles gets +100% damage while 5 bubbles gets 200% damage. It can also be cancelled now even when you are casting the skill.

Dragon Nest Physician Build

Physician Line:
Love Virus: Max Lvl: Debuff now increases PhyAtk and MagAtk by 33% (36% with Skill Ring) and debuff duration is now 10 sec. (5 sec before)
Heal Shower: Max Lvl: This skill’s CD is now 25 sec. (60 before and will become 20 sec if you have CD reduction plate).
And of course all of your EX skills and 65 passive. Notable descriptions are:
Injector EX: Party member buff that increases his FD by 50%
Disease EX: Plague duration increase. Plague debuff increases Poison Break EX and Poison Pool damage by 100%. (Sorry Adepts but Poison Break EX ONLY )
Chemical Harmony: This 65 passive gives another bubble when Injector is cast and every successful hit of Injector will decrease its CD to 1sec.

How to Provide Unique Value in Your Content

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:30 AM PST

Marketers of all stripes are hearing more about providing unique content and value to their audiences, and how that’s what Google wants to show searchers. Unique content is straightforward enough, but what exactly does everyone mean by “unique value?” What does that actually look like? In today’s Whiteboard Friday, Rand illustrates the answer.

How to Provide “Unique Value” in Your Content

Providing unique value in your content. Now I’ve been known to talk a lot about what you need to do to get to the kind of uniqueness in content that Google wants to index, that searchers want to find, that is likely to earn you amplification and links and all the signals that you’ll need to do well in the rankings, and to do well on social media and in content marketing of all kinds.

The challenge has been that I’ve seen a lot of people adopt this attitude around, yes, unique content, unique value, but merge those two and not view them as two different things and really not understand what I mean when I say unique value at all, and it’s not just me. A lot of the content marketing and SEO industries are talking about the need for unique value, and they may say other words to describe that. But unfortunately, as an industry, we’ve not yet coalesced around what that idea means, and so this Whiteboard Friday is to try and explain exactly what a lot of these best practices and experts are talking about when they say “unique value.”

Modern criteria for content

So let’s start by talking about our modern criteria for content, and I have a slide that I like to show a lot that kind of displays this, and many other folks in the field have as well. So if I’m going to be producing content, I need to meet these five criteria.

One of a kind

One of a kind is basically what we meant when we said old unique content, meaning that the engines have never seen those words and phrases and numbers and visuals and whatever in that order on a page on the web before. It’s been written for the first time, produced and published for the first time. Therefore, it is one of a kind, doesn’t seem elsewhere.
Relevant

Relevant meaning it has content that both searchers and engines interpret as on topic to that searcher’s query or their intent. Sometimes you can be on topic to the query, meaning you’ve used the words and the phrases that the searcher used, and not be on topic to their intent. What did they actually want to get out of the search? What question are they trying to answer? What information are you trying to get?

Helpful

This one’s pretty obvious. You should resolve the searcher’s query in a useful, efficient way. That should be a page that does the job that they’re hoping that that content is going to do.

Uniquely valuable

This is the one we’re going to be talking about today, and what we mean here is provides information that’s unavailable or hard to get elsewhere — I’m going to dive into that a bit more —
Great user experience

This means it’s easy and pleasurable to consume anywhere on any device.

You meet these criteria with your content and you’ve really got something when it comes to a content marketing strategy or when it comes to content you’re producing for SEO. This is a pretty solid checklist that I think you can rely on.
Unique value and you (and your website)

The challenge is this one. Uniquely valuable has been a really hard concept for people to wrap their heads around, and so let’s dig in a little more on what we mean when we say “unique value.”

So these are kind of the three common criteria that we mean when we say “unique value,” and I’m actually going to show some examples as well.

1) Massive upgrade in aggregation, accessibility and design

The first one is a massive upgrade versus what’s already available on the web in aggregation, accessibility, and/or design. Meaning you should have someone who views that content say, “Wow. You know, I’ve seen this material presented before, but never presented so well, never so understandable and accessible. I really like this resource because of how well aggregated, how accessible, how well designed this resource is.”

Good examples, there’s a blog post from the website Wait But Why on the Fermi Paradox, which is sort of a scientific astrophysics, “why are we alone in the universe” paradox concept, and they do a brilliant job of visualizing and explaining the paradox and all the potential scenarios behind it. It’s so much fun to read. It’s so enjoyable. I’ve read about the Fermi Paradox many times and never been as entranced as I was as when I read this piece from Wait But Why. It really was that experience that says, “Wow, I’ve seen this before, but never like this.”

Another great site that does pure aggregation, but they give incredible value is actually a search engine, a visual search engine that I love called Niice.co. Not particularly easy to spell, but you do searches for things like letter press or for emotional ideas, like anger, and you just find phenomenal visual content. It’s an aggregation of a bunch of different websites that show design and visual content in a search interface that’s accessible, that shows all the images in there, and you can scroll through them and it’s very nicely collected. It’s aggregated in the best way I’ve ever seen that information aggregated, therefore, providing unique value. Unfortunately, since it’s a search engine, it’s not actually going to be indexed by Google, but still tremendously good content marketing.

2) Information that is available nowhere else

Number two is information that’s available nowhere else. When I say “information,” I don’t mean content. I don’t mean words and phrases. I don’t mean it’s one-of-a-kind in that if I were to go copy and paste a sentence fragment or a paragraph and plug it into Google, that I wouldn’t find that sentence or that paragraph elsewhere. I mean unique information, information that, even if it were written about thousands of different ways, I couldn’t find it anywhere else on the web. You want your visitor to have experience of, “Wow, without this site I never would have found the answers I sought.” It’s not that, “Oh, this sentence is unique to all the other sentences that have been written about this topic.” It’s, “Ah-ha this information was never available until now.”

Some of my favorite examples of that — Walk Score. Walk Score is a site that took data that was out there and they basically put it together into a scoring function. So they said, “Hey, in this ocean beach neighborhood in San Diego, there are this many bars and restaurants, grocery stores, banks, pharmacies. The walk ability of that neighborhood, therefore, based on the businesses and on the sidewalks and on the traffic and all these other things, the Walk Score out of 100 so 74.” I don’t know what it actually is. Then you can compare that to, say, the Hill crest neighborhood in San Diego, where the Walk Score is 88 because it has a far greater density of all those things that people, who are looking for walk ability of neighborhoods, are seeking. If you’re moving somewhere or you’re considering staying somewhere downtown, in area to visit for vacation, this is amazing. What an incredible resource, and because of that Walk Score has become hugely popular and is part of many, many real estate websites and visitor and tourism focused websites and all that kind of stuff.

Another good example, blog posts that provide information that was previously unavailable anywhere else. In our industry I actually really like this example from Conductor. Conductor, as you might know, is an enterprise SEO software company, and they put together a phenomenal blog post comparing which portions of direct traffic are almost certainly actually organic, and they collected a bunch of anonymized data from their platform and assembled that so that we could all see, “Oh, yeah, look at that. Sixty percent of what’s getting counted as direct in a lot of these websites, at least on average, is probably coming from organic search or dark social and those kinds of things, and that credit should go to the marketers who acquire that traffic.” Fascinating stuff. Unique information, couldn’t find that elsewhere.

3) Content presented with a massively differentiated voice or style

The third and last one that I’ll talk about is content that’s presented with a massively differentiated voice or style. So this is not necessarily you’ve aggregated information that was previously unavailable or you’ve made it more accessible or you’ve designed it in a way to make it remarkable. It’s not necessarily information available nowhere else. It’s really more about the writer or the artist behind the content creation, and content creators, the great ones, have some artistry to their work. You’re trying to create in your visitors this impression of like, “I’ve seen stuff about this before, but never in a way that emotionally resonated with me like this does.” Think about the experience that you have of reading a phenomenal book about a topic versus just reading the Wikipedia entry. The information might be the same, but there are miles of difference in the artistry behind it and the emotional resonance it can create.

In the content marketing world, I really like a lot of stuff that Beardbrand does. Eric from Beardbrand just puts together these great videos. He has this gigantic beard. I feel like I’ve really captured him here actually. Eric, tell me what you think of this portrait? You’re free to use it as your Twitter background, if you’d like. Eric’s videos are not just useful. They do contain useful information and stuff that sometimes is hard to find elsewhere, but they have a style to them, a personality to them that I just love.

Likewise, for many of you, you’re watching Whiteboard Friday or consuming content from us that you likely could find many other places. Unlike when Moz started, there are many, many great blogs and resources on SEO and inbound marketing and social media marketing, and all these things, but Moz often has a great voice, a great style, at least one that resonates with me, that I love.

Another example, one from my personal life, my wife’s blog — the Everywhereist. There are lots of places you can read, such as, a history of Ireland. But when Geraldine wrote about her not-so-brief history of Ireland, it had a very different kind of emotional resonance for many other people who read and consumed that and, as a result, earned lots of nice traffic and shares and links and these kinds of things.

This, one of these three, is what you’re aiming for with uniquely valuable, and there are likely some others that fit into these or maybe that cross over between them. But if you’re making content for the web and you’re trying to figure out how can I be uniquely valuable, see what it is that you’re fitting into, which of these themes, hopefully maybe even some combination of them, and is that defensible enough to make you differentiated from your competition, from what else is in the search results, and does it give you the potential to have truly remarkable content and SEO going forward. If not, I’m not sure that it’s worth the investment. There’s no prize in content for hitting Publish. No prize for hitting Publish. The only prize comes when you produce something that meets these criteria and thus achieves the reach and the marketing goals that you’re seeking.

The Crew Game – Review

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:14 AM PST

A great racer to me doesn't focus on an abundance of customization options or entire garages of cars. It doesn't even serve up solid multiplayer modes or an interesting soundtrack. It keeps me playing.

And let me tell you, unless it's Mario Kart or a stupidly solid racer that entrances me from its opening credits, that doesn't happen very often. I don't care about winning a tournament and I have no interest in being a professional race car driver like Jerry.

The Crew Game

The Crew (Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 4 [reviewed])
Developer: Ivory Tower, Ubisoft Reflections
Publisher: Ubisoft
Released: December 2, 2014
MSRP: $59.99

The Crew was arresting ever since I became entangled within its narrative, which is surprisingly gripping for the genre. Its deliciously cheesy and lightweight criminal protagonist's plight gave me something to shoot for: revenge.

Kyuss' "Demon Cleaner" blared from my television as I burned rubber to tail the dirty FBI agent who murdered Alex Taylor's brother, years after his being framed. With the law on my side, I was absolutely ready to exact my sweet, sweet revenge by working my way to the top of the gangs who put me away and took my brother from me.

Sure, it's cliched. You've heard this story before, namely within the realm of Need for Speed and its ilk, but I didn't care. I related to it. I probably would have done much of the same given the situation. So I couldn't have cared less who I was playing as after The Crew motivated me to drive cross-country in-game, winning races, delivering cars, and taking out leaders in the name of justice along the way.

That's why with all of its shortcomings I was able to genuinely sit back, relax, and enjoy The Crew. Most importantly, I did it without the influence or necessity of other people. And looking back on my time with the game now, like in real life, other people would only have tainted what I was able to accomplish.

Let's get down to brass tacks, though. The bread and butter of any racer is of course car mechanics, and there's a comfortable mix of arcade-style handling with simulation-styled controls. You can alter the controls to your liking so it feels more familiar and workable, but for the most part the game is quite forgiving, even if you tend to bump into that car in front of you or the signpost on the side of the road. This actually tends to work in your favor, especially during timed events where clipping a guard rail and spinning out in another game could mean the difference between starting the race over entirely and losing a couple of seconds.

The Crew Game

All of the cars have a very basic "stock" feel to them in the beginning, which you can liken to the very same feeling arcade racers pack. You'll need to tune them accordingly before they begin to feel more like wieldy vehicles, and this is done by purchasing additional upgrades with points earned throughout the game as you progress. There's a robust if uninspired system in place to ensure your earnings are tracked in every way they can be, so there are plenty of opportunities for you to earn additional points here and there to make your muscle car or humble sedan roadworthy.

But without somewhere to drive, where would we be in a racer? The vast open world of The Crew is its biggest asset, and despite the dozens of missions and races you can drive to from the start of the game, you'll undoubtedly spend most of your time checking out the U.S. countryside, just like a virtual road trip. You can hit up Manhattan and check out the Rocky Mountains with no loading times between, spending hours upon hours exploring every little nook and cranny the game has to offer.

Sprinkled throughout the countryside are a smattering of missions you can complete, ranging from a couple of minutes long to a few hours. You might spend some time speeding through gates for experience. In another area you might be charged with delivering a car as a gift for one of the gang members' contacts. There's always something to do, even if a good part of it consists of single-player missions that are best enjoyed alone.

The Crew Game

That's where things get a little confusing. Unfortunately, Ubisoft opted for the boneheaded decision to force The Crew players to remain online at all times to play this game. Effectively, that makes it a racing MMORPG, given the fact that experience is earned through said missions and whatnot. That also means other players are sharing the map with you at any given time.

Luckily, you aren't forced to get buddy buddy with others in order to complete missions and progress, though if you want to reach out, you can form your own crews to conquer instances you just can't best. You can even reach out at any time to complete a mission with a second player, which can get you through some pretty tight spots. If either player wins, both participants receive experience, which makes playing with others a lucrative offer.

But what really happens is a flood of notifications declaring that RiffRaff420blAzEiT wants to race against you, or YesImAGirlPlayingAVideoGame wants to complete a mission together. In more congested areas you'll find that everyone just wants in on the multiplayer experience, which only got worse as the days piled up after release date. Some might find this an alright problem to have, given the fact that online-only games need their players to participate. But as someone who prefers to play solo, period, it was tiring and jarring, especially since I wished only to spin the narrative of my choosing, and that was being a lone wolf on a cross-country journey to avenge my brother. I didn't want anyone getting in the way.

The Crew Game

Of course, for the review's sake, I had to participate in multiplayer events, which worked quite smoothly. It can still be difficult at times to find players for races or assistance (if that's your kind of thing) but I didn't have any issues establishing or maintaining a connection once I made the decision to. It's a helpful addition when and if you choose to take advantage of it, but if all you're concerned with is a solo career as a driver, you'll want to turn notifications off and speed through the desert on your lonesome.

Unfortunately, sometimes the solo grind can be difficult. Unless you challenge nearly every mission you come across and rack up the experience points, you won't have reached the best level at which you can best your competition. This will call for an abundance of experience farming, which does tend to give a "homework" sort of feel to the game at some points, but with so many places to explore, you can take it one play session at a time. No need for rushing — you've got the whole of the the States to explore.

The Crew Game

With an insanely large world it had to be assumed there would be at least some sort of hit in visual fidelity as well, and while the game looks competent at least in the current-gen department, it's not as great-looking as it could have been. The trade-off for minimal load times and such an expansive world more than makes up for it, however, and visually impressive cut scenes prove time was spent on making characters and cars impressive where the effort could be more concentrated.

The Crew offers you the entire countryside to explore solo or with friends (or strangers), plenty of cars, customization options, and a narrative that extends a purpose beyond "being the best" to get your motor running. Ubisoft's familiar structural pitfalls like microtransactions, online-only play, and other trappings hinder rather than enhance, but those things have become par for the course by now. Thankfully, they don't mar the overall experience, and that was an overtly positive one for me. I don't need a crew to cruise downtown Chicago or the west coast. I was just fine going it alone. And if you settle in for a few hours and let the game take you, I surmise you will be, too.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition – Review

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:10 AM PST

When I was younger, Duke Nukem 3D had a “parental lock” option with a passcode. Naturally, as any inquisitive child would do, I backed up my save files, uninstalled the game, re-installed it, and set up a new jibberish password that way my parents would assume they forgot the code or there was an error with the game.

With or without the adult content, Duke was one of my most cherished shooters. Although it is decidedly dated by today’s standards, its massive 10-weapon loadout featured a ton of diversity, and the environments contained some of the best hidden areas in the genre, even today.

It’s a bit of a relic, but Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition is an endeavor worth pursing if you have any interest in first-person shooters, and can deal without a handful of modern conveniences.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition (PC, PS3, Vita [reviewed])
Developer: 3D Realms (original work), General Arcade, Abstraction Games
Publisher: Devolver Digital
Released: January 6, 2015 (PS3, Vita)
MSRP: $9.99 (Cross-Buy on PS3, Vita)

With its numerous references to Evil Dead, They Live, and other cult classics, Duke 3D was far more than just stripper and potty humor. Duke had morphed from a relatively safe action hero stereotype in his older days to full-on camp, and the tone was spot-on. Without a bit of nostalgia though a lot of the jokes are going to fall flat, and I suspect some of the younger audience may not even know what he’s referencing. In other words, your mileage may vary in terms of the game’s personality. I’m just glad that the game hasn’t been censored in any way in the re-release.

Everyone is likely to enjoy the superb map design from 3D Realms. This was back during the glory days of the FPS campaign, where nearly every room holds a hidden switch or hollow wall ready to be blown up. Every single stage in Duke 3D is littered with secrets, from references to cold hard power-ups. It’s a joy to replay the game again and try to find everything — heck, I’m finding new secrets almost 20 years later in Megaton.

What you’re getting for your $9.99 is all four “official” episodes of Duke 3D (with four difficulty settings), which feature 8-10 levels each, in addition to three classic independently developed episodes with unique themes. Duke Caribbean: Life's a Beach is the clear-cut winner of the extra packs, as it re-themes the game to the tune of a tropical vacation, complete with water pistols and Super Soaker shotguns — also, all the enemies are hilariously decked out in vacation garb.

Duke Nukem 3D

Duke it out in D.C. is a bit of a mixed bag, as the level designs tend to be a bit on the boring side at times, and aren’t as tight as you’d expect from the rest of the game. Duke: Nuclear Winter, a tale that sees Duke charge into the North Pole, is the weakest entry, but still worth playing if you’ve exhausted everything else. These packs aren’t new content as they were available on the PC in 1997, but they were difficult to find even if you were a Duke fan back then, and it’s nice to see them finally hit the PS3 and Vita for the first time.

As far as the controls go on the Vita, everything is very straight-forward and seamlessly integrated with the portable’s limitations in mind. A quick tap on the left or right side of the screen will switch your weapons respectively on the selection list, and you can give the d-pad a quick tap to toggle “run mode,” which is the equivalent of holding down the shift key on the PC. The weapon-switch system is instant, and works far better than I thought it would.

Another addition in Megaton is the power to rewind time after a death and replay from any point in a stage. This is a great option for newcomers as some levels tend to be pretty punishing, and without knowing where everything is, lengthy. That way you won’t get too frustrated as you attempt to plow through a level and can stop and smell the roses. Sadly, this is compounded with an odd system that locks you out of stages you haven’t completed yet in an episode, so you’ll have to do everything in sequential order. For a game that’s nearly two decades old that limitation seems pointless.

Duke Nukem 3D

Online multiplayer for up to eight participants is in, with both one-on-one and free-for-all options, as well as a cooperative feature. Ranked and unranked options are available, but I doubt the community will be large enough (or be around long enough) to really justify a difference between the two. Having said that, I was able to jump into multiple matches within minutes since launch, and they were a blast.

Keep in mind though that returning players will have the advantage, as the “arenas” are just glorified levels from the game — secret rooms and all. Also, since everyone will likely have auto-run on all the time, it feels like a hyper turbo old school FPS with janky visuals, which is going to be nigh impossible for some people to get used to. Despite that, this is still one of the only online shooters were you can stop and urinate in the middle of a match.

Duke Nukem 3D: Megaton Edition isn’t a fancy HD remaster, but for 10 bucks with cross-play support for PS3 and Vita, it’s worth digging into for old and new fans alike. Despite the old school feel, the level design holds up tremendously. So long as you can deal with some over-the-top humor, you’ll have fun with Duke all over again.

Roccat Unveils Modular Gaming Mouse Nyth and New Ryos Mechanical Keyboards

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:06 AM PST

Roccat NythA mouse that can be adapted for various video game genres

Roccat's modular gaming mouse Nyth

When it comes to your mouse, you want one that is comfortable to use when it comes to work and playing games. But when it comes to gaming, sometimes a standard mouse isn't going to cut it. For some consumers, a different kind of mouse that is designed specifically for massively multiplayer online games (MMO) and multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) games are needed for a more efficient and enhanced playstyle. However, players may no longer have to worry about buying a specific mouse for a certain type of game. At CES 2015, Online Managing Editor Jimmy Thang was able to see Roccat's modular gaming mouse Nyth along with the Ryos MK FX and Ryos TKL FX mechanical keyboards.

The Roccat Nyth is the company's solution to consumers who play games from multiple genres what might want a mouse that can be adapted to enhance the gaming experience when switching from a game like World of Warcraft (MMO) to Dota 2 (MOBA). While designed as an MMO mouse, consumers will be able to transform the MMO layout of the Nyth into a MOBA or FPS layout due to the device's custom button placement and interchangeable side-parts.

But instead of having to purchase different kinds of buttons, though the Nyth will come with two or three sets of buttons according to the rep, those who own 3D printers will be able to print buttons and side-parts from an online file library in order to customize the Nyth (there will also be a third-party service available to print buttons for consumers). Users will be able to add up to 12 buttons.

The Roccat Nyth is expected to be out in Q2 or Q3 this year but no price was provided.

Meanwhile, Jimmy was also able to check out the prototypes of two new additions to the Ryos series of mechanical RGB keyboards. The Ryos MK FX version excludes the numpad while the Ryos TKL FX is a full-sized keyboard. Both devices feature Cherry MX switches and require two USB ports in order to be used.

But regarding the two USB port requirement, Jimmy brought up the fact that Logitech's keyboard requires only one USB port to be powered and asked the rep why Roccat still requires dual USB ports who replied that it was necessary because of the Cherry MX switches and that the "RGB LEDs are much more power-consuming than the single-color ones."

The Ryos MK FX and Ryos TKL FX are expected to be out in Q3 2015 but no price was forthcoming.

What do you think of the Roccat Nyth and its ability to be adapted for various types of video games? Sound off in the comments below!

Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 Enhanced Edition team making new in-between game

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 06:02 AM PST

The team behind the Enhanced Edition re-releases of Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 is making a completely new game in the series – not Baldur’s Gate 3 but a game codenamed Adventure Y that will bridge the gap between BG1 and BG2.

It will be made using the Infinity Engine to look and feel like the old Baldur’s Gate games, and three small images of Adventure Y (below) were shared on the BG:EE forum. Other details such as a release date are being held back for “late spring”, developer Beamdog wrote on its blog.

What happened to Baldur’s Gate 3, a potential project Beamdog talked excitedly about in the past?

“We’d be lying if we said we never think about doing a Baldur’s Gate 3 game, so we won’t say that. But we will say there’s nothing in the works yet regarding BG3 or a 5th Edition [Dungeons & Dragons] game,” the developer wrote. “That doesn’t mean the opportunity will never arise, though, so we’re preparing by starting a tabletop 5th Edition Dungeons & Dragons game here in the office.”

Beamdog also has plans for Adventure Z, a project it will talk about in the late summer after Adventure Y – the in-between Baldur’s Gate game.

“Right now all we can say about [Adventure Z] is that it exists and it’s a departure for us in terms of what we’ve done in the past. Also, the project might involve sharks… We’re looking forward to giving you more details mid-year.”

In addition to the Baldur’s Gate games – available on PC, Mac, phones and tablets – Beamdog has also enhanced Icewind Dale.

How IT departments can help companies tap into marketing gold

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 05:57 AM PST

The marketing industry is beginning to understand the importance of big data, although a recent report from IDC highlighted the fact that 80% of customer data is being wasted as a result of poor data practices, suggesting that businesses are still not making the most of the data which is available to them.

Many marketing professionals are already using structured data from CRM systems to gain insight into current and future customer behaviour, but are missing a trick when it comes to analysing unstructured machine data generated from websites and apps. Subsequently, companies are missing out on valuable data insights that could help shape and improve their marketing strategy.

Machine data

This machine data, traditionally used by IT departments to provide operational intelligence into the performance of IT infrastructure and detect security threats, can also deliver huge value to marketing departments. Marketers can leverage analytics to gain insight into what their customers are doing in real time, and make the most of key ‘business moments’ like a customer’s failed transaction, an abandoned shopping basket, flash sales or a personalised promotion based on previous buying patterns combined with what they are looking at now.

Machine data is one of the fastest growing and most pervasive segments of big data. Generated by ‘machines’ including websites, applications, servers, networks, mobile devices, virtualised servers and sensors, it provides a more in-depth view of how a business’ sales and marketing channels are operating.

By monitoring and analysing the key steps in a customer’s journey from clickstreams and transactions to network activity and call records, new technologies can turn machine data into valuable insights and operational intelligence.

Unlocking the power of machine data for marketing purposes requires collaboration with the IT department. However, this doesn’t mean that marketing should rely on the IT team to provide all the answers. Analytics tools are much more accessible and user friendly today and what marketing teams really need is direct access to these platforms, and the data itself, so they can spend time asking the right questions of the data that is being harvested and drive the most value for their own purposes.

In combining this previously untapped resource with traditional, structured data sets (for example past purchasing patterns), marketing can access a gold mine of new intelligence and generate insight into emerging trends. With analytics tools now being easier to use than ever before, marketing teams should take the opportunity to play around and answer previously unknown questions, rather than relying on data scientists or IT professionals to deliver the answers to specific questions.

Domino’s goes coupon crazy

In the US, Domino’s Pizza started using machine data analytics to resolve IT issues by collecting, indexing and monitoring the machine data generated by its IT infrastructure. As time went on, the company realised that there was potential for machine data analysis outside of the IT department. Domino’s began using Splunk to visualise business sales trends across geographical locations such as orders per minute, numbers of transactions per store, what types of pizzas and other food items customers order and what coupons they may be using to do so.

As a result, the Domino’s marketing team has been able to analyse the success of promotional campaigns as well as one-off promotions in real time. For instance, the team can now compare the effectiveness of various percent-off coupons. If one is more effective than the other, Domino’s can quickly make the appropriate online adjustments.

Reap the data benefits

SEO optimisation with SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey, a free web survey tool, uses Splunk to track user activity and determine where its visitors have come from, such as survey pages, search engines, or affiliate links. Although it is a global service, SurveyMonkey has traditionally gained far more traction with its paid accounts in English-speaking countries.

In order to expand this reach in specific geographies, the site needed to translate its content to local language and publish it on country-specific domains. However, this can be a costly exercise so the company needed to identify priority markets that would give the most return on this investment. The SEO manager used Splunk to look at page view volumes for different countries to identify which would see the most value from moving to a country-specific domain. In turn SurveyMonkey was able to prioritise those markets that were likely to get the most traction.

Customer journey modelling with John Lewis

John Lewis has gained new and unique insight into the journeys of its customers, discovering that customer interaction with the John Lewis website was not necessarily as linear as the team had previously believed. Rather, customers traversed many different areas of the website before triggering an action (i.e. placing an item into the shopping basket).

The team was able to provide insights to the business on how customers were actually going through the site, enabling John Lewis to make changes that optimised search and navigation for a better customer experience. As a result, customers could find items more easily and check out faster.

During the Christmas clearance event, the busiest period of the year for John Lewis, back in 2013, Splunk helped the company deliver the best online performance in its history. Online sales grew 23 per cent over the previous Christmas period and data analytics helped inform important operational and marketing decisions in real time, such as when to promote and communicate certain items or campaigns, based on how busy certain sections of the website were. John Lewis also used Splunk to balance customer experience response times with the need to throttle website traffic.

The benefits are endless

The benefits of analysing machine data are both vast and varied. However, for businesses to capitalise on it, they need to work on making sure their data is open to everyone, not just the IT department. By streamlining data practices and procedures, and increasing collaboration with other departments, companies will begin to use all their customer data to its full potential.

Why not get the ball rolling and come up with your big data wish-list? Work out what it is you really want to find out about your customers and then share this with the IT team over a creative brainstorming session. Machine generated data captures virtually every behaviour, so the possibilities are game changing and you never know what you might discover.

Philips Fidelio B5 – Review

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 05:53 AM PST

The Philips Fidelio B5 Sound bar isn’t exactly a new product for CES 2015. It was announced to the public for the first time back in September at IFA 2014.

That said, it wasn’t until now that we could see the sound bar-to-surround sound transformation for our own eyes and hear the resulting audio quality with our own ears.

For those who missed it the first time around, the B5 is a successor to the Philips Fidelio E5, a 4.1 channel speaker system that lets you detach the two front speakers and place them wherever you’d like in your room for a surround sound experience. After about 10 hours of use, just return them to the base to charge and start the process over again a few hours later.

Unlike the four Lego-like speakers that Philips released last year, the B5 is a 4.1 sound bar that splits apart on command and uses new Arc Spatial calibration software to decide the exact place of the satellite speakers to the main bar.

Philips Fidelio B5 review

If your back left unit is a bit further from your back right unit, such as, the B5 will know to turn up the volume on the left speaker to compensate for the extra distance.

Oh, one more thing: Once you’re ready to move the party into another room, both detachable units become portable Bluetooth speakers that will last about five hours without needing to pull an E.T. and return home to charge.
Design

Fully assembled, the B5 is almost identical to the Fidelio HTL7180/F7, released in 2013. With Bluetooth speakers docked it’s around a meter in length and four or five inches thick. It’s more imposing than some of the slimmer sound bar options out there, but as a trade-off the B5 can really kick.

The main bar houses a 3-inch woofer that’s responsible for the center channel and a “audiophile quality ‘Ferro-Fluid’ cooled soft dome tweeter” that takes care of the highs. A wireless sub woofer has the freedom to go anywhere you’d like within the room and rounds out the audio spectrum with overbearing, rumbly lows.

Philips Fidelio B5 review

Around the back you’ll find two HDMI-in, one HDMI-out, an optical audio, USB and 3.5mm ports but, if you’re more of a wire-free person, the B5 also comes equipped with Bluetooth aptX, AAC and NFC.

Decoupling the satellite speaker reveals two small switches, one on each speaker. These allow you to toggle between Bluetooth and surround sound modes. Once you’ve got them setup, all that’s left to do is run the Arc Spatial Calibration tool to balance the channels.
Sound quality

For a 4.1 channel system, the surround sound was much, much more pronounced than I had imagined. It was enough to give Michael Jackson’s “Bad” a concert-like quality, and did a good job with film audio as well.

But that was with the detachable speakers two feet behind me. Just how they’ll do in a less open room full of awkward-shaped furniture and unsymmetrical walls remains to be seen.

Philips Fidelio B5 review

Overall, the sound quality was good, but not great. I liked what I heard though, and considering that the satellite speakers were running off a lithium ion battery that’s impressive.
We liked

The ability to detach speakers and use them as satellites is wonderfully cool, only second on the coolness scale to the B5’s ability to work as two Bluetooth speakers that you can take with you from room to room.

The automatic Arc Spatial calibration tool will cut some major headaches that came with purchasing the E5, plus the extended 5-10 hours of battery life sound like more than enough time to rock out before putting the satellites back in their dock.
We disliked

For a $900 (£800) sound bar, the B5’s sound quality didn’t leave me with my jaw on the floor. It was able to get much louder than I would’ve thought possible and the surround sound pleasantly surprised me, but when combined as a single unit the results aren’t phenomenal.

Whether that was the space or the sound bar is tough to tell, and we’ll need further testing to distinguish if the B5 is the best ‘bar in town, or just another cool concept waiting to be scooped up by another company.
Early verdict

The Philips Fidelio B5 is a multifunction system that is as innovative as it is practical. Its sound quality might just be a little too low for its $900 price point, but the fact that you’re getting two portable Bluetooth speakers out of it could make up for any shortcomings.

Will robots like Honda’s Asimo steal our jobs

Posted: 10 Jan 2015 05:45 AM PST

Everyone in IT is scared of the same thing – becoming obsolete. Just like those floppy discs, the Windows 98 machines and even those USB thumb drives kicking around the office, everything gets replaced. It gets upgraded. It gets forgotten. Is your job about to be automated, perhaps by an artificially intelligent robot?

The word ‘robot’ is, of course, rather emotive, and conjures images ranging from the cute Wall-E and NASA’s Curiosity rover to evil forces like the Terminator. But robots is shorthand for machinery and for artificial intelligence – and both are a real threat to jobs.
Honda's Asimo Robot

A recent report called Agiletown: the relentless march of technology and London’s response from Deloitte brings together a survey of the plans of 100 London-based companies with research from Oxford Martin School academics Carl Benedikt Frey and Michael A Osborne on the potential impact of automation on jobs in the UK and London over the next 20 years.

Its main finding – that 35% of existing UK jobs are at high risk of replacement in the next 20 years from technology, automation and robotics – is truly shocking. Even worse, lower-paid jobs (defined as below £30,000 a year, which is around $45,000, or AU$55,000) seem to be more than five times as likely to be replaced compared to higher-paid jobs.

“Unless these changes coming in the next two decades are fully understood and anticipated by businesses, policy makers and educators, there will be a risk of avoidable unemployment and under-employment,” warns Deloitte’s senior partner Angus Knowles-Cutler.

Robot vacuüm
The good news

There are, however, reasons for the IT industry in the UK to be cheerful. A UK government report in March 2014 called Working Futures stated that the country’s IT workforce – currently reckoned to be in the region of 100,000 – will rise by a healthy 15% come 2022. Even better, the Deloitte report included evidence that 73% of London businesses plan to increase their headcount in the next five years.

In the short-term, robots will not be taking your job. Phew

Who is under threat from computerization or automation?

All this isn’t inevitable, say the researchers Frey and Osborne, who identified three ‘bottlenecks’ to automation and computerization that cut the risks to jobs. No robot yet has skills of perception and manipulation, of creativity, or of social intelligence. If you’re in senior management/financial services, computers/engineering/science, education, legal services, community services, the arts/media and healthcare, you’re safe – for now.

However, if you’re in sales, services, office and admin, transport, construction and production, you should keep an eye out for robots. They’re already in our supermarkets, and could be coming to our cars.

Car robots

Even if you’re safe for now, it may not be long until your job is under threat from robots. Microsoft predicts that a small percentage of skilled tech workers will drive innovation for a highly internet dependent world.

“In 2025 there will be nearly five billion people online and more than 50 billion connected devices,” reads Cyberspace 2025: Today’s Decisions, Tomorrow’s Terrain. However, the report’s bombshell is skills shaped – by 2025 emerging economies will produce 16 million science, technology, engineering, and mathematics graduates annually, nearly five times as many as from developed countries.

However, it’s not just in the West, and not just a ‘skills gap’ that is encouraging more and more robots. China’s Foxconn – the country’s largest private employer – is likely to be a role model in the coming era of increased automation. Its CEO Terry Gou has promised to augment his million-person workforce with a million robots in the coming years. Foxconn, which assembles Apple products among many others, wants its ‘Foxbots’ to take over assembly line duties from humans, according to Business Insider.

“We have over one million workers. In the future we will add one million robotic workers,” said Gou in June. “Our [human] workers will then become technicians and engineers.”

Foxconn’s plans are about combating the rising cost of labour. The first boom in robot production is likely to come with an ironic sting – the displaced workers at places like Foxconn could get short-term assembly line jobs in the robot-maker factories. After the first boom is over, there would be huge unemployment unless the local population either skilled-up, or were ‘swapped’ for more skilled workers.
True AI

Where do robots work?

In dirty, dull, dangerous places in industrial counties like the US, China, Japan and Korea, though countries like India, Thailand and Central/Eastern European nations have recently been adopting robotics, too.

Factories making everything from cars, planes and trains to TVs, cameras and most household appliances use robots to let both dust-free assembly, and increased accuracy. Critical industries like consumer electronics, food, solar and wind power, and advanced battery manufacturing are all heavily robotised.

iRobot PackBot Tactical Mobile Robot

Robots are present elsewhere, too. Drones are robots, while tracking and surveillance robots like the Samsung SGR-1 claims to have no blind spots and can – in theory – identify and ‘dispatch’ an enemy soldier without human intervention. About 300 iRobot PackBot Tactical Mobile Robots remove unexploded bombs and mines from war zones and collect forensic evidence in Iraq and Afghanistan, and have worked in the tsunami-damaged Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan. The technology comes from a prototype Martian rover named Rocky-7, a test bed for NASA’s Mars rovers Spirit and Opportunity.

iRobot also has robot cleaners like the Roomba, and even a prototype for a fully mobile robotic helper around the home, called Eva, which responds to human instruction and starts conversations. The next step is the ‘robo-nurse’, home help robots that can dispense medicine, diagnose medical conditions, and can even keep patients company with small-talk.

Could robots actually create jobs?

“One million industrial robots now in operation have been directly responsible for the creation of close to three million jobs,” claims a study by the International Federation of Robotics. It’s reckoned that the growth in robot use over the next five years will create another million jobs, too.

Freeing up workers from menial tasks to concentrate on the ‘complicated stuff’ might threaten jobs, but it’s hard not to equate it with a progress. However, what happens when engineers do human-level machine intelligence?

Swedish philosopher Nick Bostrom – Professor at the Faculty of Philosophy and Oxford Martin School at Oxford University (and Director of the Programme on the Impacts of Future Technology) – mulls over the implications in his new book Superintelligence: Paths, Dangers, Strategies. They’re not good.

Baxter robot

When will we have human-level machine intelligence?

“There’s a big chance that we’ll have it [human-level machine intelligence] in this century, but a lot of uncertainty about the exact date,” Bostrum told New Republic. “But what I’m interested in trying to figure out is, what happens when we reach that point?”

Wages could fall to catastrophically low levels as ‘digital minds’ – which need little or no sustenance compared to ‘biological minds’ – mushroom in number.

How close is true AI?

About twenty years away – just as it’s always been. Bostrom makes the point that two decades is a “sweet-spot for prognosticators of radical change”, but that the past over-predicting of the birth of true AI doesn’t mean that it will never be developed. After all, a computer able to play chess was once thought to be the pinnacle of human-like AI.

“Chess playing ability turned out to be achievable by a surprisingly simple algorithm,” writes Bostrom, who speculates that general reasoning ability, or some key ability in programming, could also be found to be just a simple algorithm.

Bostrom is not worried about jobs for humans per se, but about the biggest issue of all; our dominant position on the planet. Ultimately, he compares it to the current situation of gorillas, whose future now depends on humans, not on gorillas themselves. Could we one day lose – to super-intelligent computers and robots – the ability to decide our future as a species?
How we can stop the robots

Although the long-term outlook is grim, Bostrum has a word of advice for would-be robot-builders. “We do have one advantage,” he writes. “We get to build the stuff.”

However, that’s where the good news ends. “The control problem – the problem of how to control what the super-intelligence would do – looks quite difficult. It also looks like we’ll only get one chance. Once unfriendly super-intelligence exists, it would prevent us from replacing it or changing its preferences. Our fate would have been sealed.”

Snail Games USA To Produce Gaming Smartphones and Console

Snail Games USA To Produce Gaming Smartphones and Console

Apparently software isn't enough for Snail Games, who announced plans at CES 2015 in Las Vegas to enter the hardware market with the introduction of a pair of gaming smartphones.

Setting a new record for product name brevity, the W — yes, just "W" — will implement dual joysticks and physical buttons in its design. Its partner, the W 3D, will also offer a 3D gaming experience on an 5.5″ HD screen, without the need for special viewing equipment.

Both phones will come pre-loaded with 30 of Snail Games free-to-play titles. Though Snail Games USA is behind the product, which will be launched in North America, its Chinese parent company has a vast library to choose from, though it's hard to say if those titles will be westernized at all. Well, westernized as much as anything Snail Games makes. Mobile publisher Gameloft has also signed on to support the product.

Both devices are also fully functional Android-based smartphones, and Snail Games is also working on its own gaming console, the OBox:

Snail OBox

"Also Android-based, the OBox uses an adapted operating system that provides users with access to a wide range of games and applications. The game console enables 3D video output on 3D compatible TVs, and supports PC game porting to provide greater and higher quality choices in available games. League of Legends Online- Review – Download

League of Legends is a fast-paced competitive online game that has set the standards for MOBAs (Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas). Mixing an RTS with RPG elements, two teams of champions battle head to head against battlefields and game modes. With an ever-expanding roster of champions, frequent updates and a thriving tournament scene, League of Legends offers endless re-playability for players of every skill level.  Publisher: Riot Games
Playerbase: Very High
Graphics: High Quality
Type: MOBA
EXP Rate: High
PvP: 3v3, 5v5, varying short-term arenas.
Filesize: ~8GB

Pros: +Many playable heroes (100+). +Unique mix of strategy and RPG elements. +Each match feels genuinely different. +Great interface. +Good tutorial. + Multiple game modes. + Enjoyable at all skill levels.

Cons: -Too 'team oriented' (One bad player can ruin a match, or carry an unfit team to victory). -Toxic Community that may deter new players. -Microtransactions needed to acquire a decent roster of champions in any timely manner.

LeagueOFLegendsChase

Wake, Killstreak, Repeat

Anyone who has followed my articles to this point knows I play a moderate amount of League of Legends, and I am here again to cover the next big change: Season 5! The big buzzword this time is "Strategic Diversity" and unlike most seasons past, I actually believe in it. I have been faithfully following the upcoming changes to champions (A "One-Day" Taric Visual/Rework Update), improvements to make Baron and Dragon relevant, new buffs, items coming and going (R.I.P. Feral Flare: Season 4-Season 4), and much more. I'm going to outline some of the more important changes and what they could potentially mean to you in the upcoming season.

LOLS5The Chase is Real

Just covering all of the changes in a list would be insulting; anyone can go and read the patch notes (even though I think not enough players do so.) Instead I am going to be pointing out the most important things to be on the lookout for. This is by no means complete. There is still much inhouse/player testing coming up and things could change at any moment. I'm incredibly excited though! While not always a fan of change, I think these changes could shake up the League community in a positive direction. With more choices than ever before, I would expect a lot of normally unplayed champions to resurface as the wildcards of the community experiment!

Bad decisions

A True Display of Skill

One of the most infuriating things is to watch one champion single handedly backdoor. Your team is helpless as Master Yi, Tryndamere, Hecarim, Shaco, or some other champ decides they want to come back and just push other lanes solo, with so much speed and damage that nothing can deter them. This is something that Riot has evaluated, and finally has a solution for. Stats on Towers have changed a bit, but that isn't the important bit. Inner Turrets now have a regeneration field given to nearby champions to help prevent them being pushed down without a fight. Inhibitor Turrets are even more dangerous; instead of little shots, they fire a deadly laser beam that slows, deals terrific damage, AND reduces the targets damage output! Still think that tower dive is worth it?

LeagueOFLegendsdead

The idea is not to ruin any chance of backdooring, but rather to make it more balanced. If one player can singlehandedly change the entire game, there is likely something wrong. Now they can adjust/scale the towers, instead of simply nerfing a champion into the earth (as has happened on many occasions in the past). Speaking of the lane, assist gold is changing, and now early game kills give full gold instead of the lessened amount that we saw in Season 4. Starting at 50% of the kill and going up to 75% as the game progresses, this is another way to hand supports gold. That's fantastic with the new item choices; ultimately this will hopefully shake up what the supports are building, and not just one or two sets of items.

LeagueOFLegendsDargon

Alas, Poor Roshan

Gone are the days of Baron being an afterthought, the days of champions soloing/duoing Baron without a great deal of power and skill. Dragon moreso, perhaps, with the permanent buff he offers. Dragon was once a gold farm, creating a very easy gap between teams. Now, with each Dragon kill your team gains a permanent buff that grows with each successful Dragon kill your team gets. The buff ranges from a bit of damage block, all the way to tripling all other bonuses, as well as giving your attacks True Damage over time. The final buff (five kills) is not permanent, lasting only 180 seconds. I do not forsee it being a factor in many games. As teams will clamor and fight desperately to attain the buffs, more strategy and ward coverage will be required. Teams that let the adversary simply take Dragon without a fight will regret the choice.

LeagueOfLegendsBattle

Baron gives two very new and different buffs in this season. Gone is the enhanced regen/cdr that we normally see. The Enhanced Recall I think is a little ridiculous, but it does allow for swift regrouping as well as quick pushing from lane to lane to stop minions from getting ahead of your turrets. The real winner here are the Empowered Minions. When your minions are near someone with the Baron Buff, the minions grow more powerful. Better Caster Minions, Tankier Melee' Minions, and Rangier Cannon Minions. Combine this with Banner of Command for hilarious results! The idea here is to create a siege breaker. If the enemy just can't be beaten through, grab Baron and overwhelm their defense! Expect Baron to be stronger to defeat, balancing the higher reward with more risk than ever before.

LeagueOfLegendsBattleBigAss

Items, Items, Everywhere

And not a drop to drink. Many items are leaving us, some that have been around for ages (such as Atma's Impaler) and are likely never to be seen again. Some items were simply a failure or not what was intended, such as the Feral Flare, which lasted a whopping one season. The old jungler items are gone as well. This is probably the biggest change to the itemization; new items that build out of the Hunter's Machete influence how your "Smite" spell works, which will probably passively force junglers who refuse to use Smite (Looking at you Maokai, Shaco) into using it, if for no other reason than the faster jungle clear. There are four new items that adjust your Smite, ranging from AOE damage to the ability to damage other players. This is brand new never touched utility to help change up how junglers' see their summon skill. I feel that there will be fewer "must-buy" items, and more situational items.

LeagueOFLegendsItemization

There are other items that are also making a grand arrival, such as Righteous Glory. A new tanky support item, it offers HP/Mana, but more importantly, gives movement speed to nearby allies who are moving towards enemies/turrets! Combine that with its activated ability which culminates in a shockwave-style slow. This is an item I feel will be a complete game-changer. Another item I foresee making a comeback due to changes is Ohmwrecker. I desperately wanted this item to be used, and its ability to shut off turrets could make diving worth it. Alas, last season, it saw virtually no play at all. But it had a retool, and it certainly is for the best.

Elixirs! These are gone. Replacing them are pricier/better consumable potions, only one of which can be active at a time. Instead of generic damage buff potions, we have the Elixir of Iron, which increases size of champion/tankiness as well as Path of Iron buff (players who follow the path gain movement speed), or the Elixir of Wrath, which gives damage, a "Bloodlust" buff, and damage to champions gives back percentage of hp. Kills/assists also increase its duration by 30 seconds, so assassins will be taking this with frequency.

LeagueOFLegendsHe ulted

What Does This Mean?

There are a lot of changes, that's what! Tons of new items; the jungle has changed, with large mobs in the jungle each offering a buff with Smite kills; the scuttling "Rift Crab" that is a neutral river mob, giving vision to people who kill it. The big word this season so far is "Strategy." There are far too many changes to go over all of them right here. Summoners should take the time to learn what changes are coming and play to experience them first-hand.

Playstyles may be disrupted or changed with all of the nerfs, buffs, and item changes. I genuinely feel that there is something for everyone in this season, which adds some radical new updates to how the game is played. Now if only they could do something about the servers, that'd be perhaps the next new project. There are of course detractors that miss their precious Feral Flare, but when junglers are simply farming jungle and never coming out, are they still junglers? Or is it just another lane to worry about? These changes are being rolled out into all facets of the game, so ideally, people will play more normals/team builder before jumping into the ranked preseason. Also: To those curious, ranked matches in the preseason DO matter. If someone tells you otherwise and plays poorly on purpose, they are wrong. It will affect your MMR. I wish everyone luck and new, exciting experiences in Season 5!

Things We Already Know

League of Legends is the MOBA everyone knows, and loves. Or perhaps just knows. I myself have been playing since the beginning of Season 2, and I have played enough to know that I am still horrible at the game. Be that as it may, everyone else on the team decided to haze the new guy, pitting me on a weekend bender of MOBA games. So, here I am! League of Legends is on its fourth season of competitive play, and at current has well over a hundred champions, each with its own style of gameplay. Many things changed between seasons 3 and 4, but the gameplay is still very consistent, offering the same three lanes, and for the most part, the same jungle. There have been changes, but not for changes' sake, but for the betterment of the game. The same game modes exist, with 3v3 (a reworked version of the Twisted Treeline I knew in season 2), 5v5 (Summoners Rift, Dominion, ARAM), though as of this writing, two game modes have come and gone, which will be given a bit more detail later.

In League of Legends, as in any MOBA, the goal is to use teamwork and skill to go from your side of the field to the enemies, knocking over towers, completing other objectives, and ultimately, destroying their base. This has not changed. How one gets there however, certainly has. Several important changes have occurred in the game, outside of character balance. I will be skipping things like that since one can simply read patch notes or LoL dedicated sites to get caught up on them. Instead, I will be focusing on the main brunt of changes that have occurred between the seasons.

LadyMowgli

I would also like to take this time to thank Lady Mowgli, for taking the time to play with a baddie like myself. It was a pleasure, because I do not play many ARAMs, but they were a ball, even when I was horrid, because she reminds me that it's all in fun. There are many who would do well to remember that. I'd also like to take this time to shamelessly plug her amazing cosplay, on Facebook at "Nox Going Wolf." She'll be at PAX East this year (and I will be jealous, and not!) with a variety of cosplays on display, such as Nasus! See? It's even topical.

LeagueOfLegendsLadyMowgli

Lost, But Not Forgotten

There are several game modes that have stuck around throughout the lifespan of League of Legends. The standard 3v3/5v5 are still around, though the Twisted Treeline 3v3 got a much needed overhaul in season 3. There were several things added, which I do believe I alluded to in a previous article, such as the spirit wells that provide buffs to the entire party, which adds another layer of strategy to the team-based game. 5v5 has also received some minor quality of life improvements, though only the dedicated players will probably even notice the advantages they offer. There are however, a few modes that are no longer around, which I find to be both fortunate and unfortunate.

LeagueOfLegendsAllForOne

All For One: This short-lived mode was probably the most entertaining extra mode I have had the pleasure to play in. In "All For One," players on each team had three bans, as in draft mode. Then everyone voted on a champ that they felt the entire team should play. Certain champs were autobanned, like Karthus, and Teemo. I personally do not see why. I mean, Five Karthus is totally fair, right? The highest vote wins, and in the case of a tie, I believe it is randomly selected between the two. I think the craziest thing I saw was my friends and I teaming up as five Soraka versus five Karma, and dominating them the entire game. It was pure chaos. The map was the normal Fields, 5v5, and the goal is the same: Get to the Nexus. It provided some very entertaining times, and I for one, was sad to see it go.

Hexakill: This was a mode I sadly did not get an opportunity to play. I was much too busy to enjoy this mode, as I was in the process of learning to hate ranked mode all over again. From what I understand, there were lots of problems with the matchmaking process, and lots of disconnects midmatch, leaving many people (me) frustrated. Regardless! Hexakill was another mode on the Fields of Justice, where six players on each side did battle, with the same goal as always. It was a really lovely idea, and from what I've seen of it, it was even more chaotic than all for one while providing junglers the new challenge of trying to gank lanes with three people in them. This mode did not appear to last long at all. I blinked, and it was gone! Such a shame.

LeagueOfLegendsItemsS4

A Vision of The Future

One of the most controversial changes has to be vision. In Season 3, players could (but did not) carry up to five green wards (which offer standard vision in hidden areas) and five pink wards (which offered visibility to units that were invisible; same vision turrets have). This was an interesting idea, but it often did not work out. More often than not, the only person warding was the support, and maybe the jungler, and it was an incredible burden to try and build a set of gear, while spending all their money on wards, or Sightstones. The money offered to support players was low, and it was overall a horrible system that was in dire need of a change. In Season 4, more gold was given to support players…

The old gold-per-five items were done away with, and new ones, with a variety of utilities were born. The swiftly-nerfed Targon's Brace, the Ancient Coin which implements the now defunct Shurelya's Reverie (Speed Boost), and Spellthief's Edge, the answer to AP Supports who wanted a little gold in their diet. In addition, support streaks, awarded to players who had more assists than kills also helped this. But that is not the brunt of where the change lies. In Season 4 players can only use three green wards, and one purple ward at one time. Period. Purple ward prices dropped, but are not invisible, and have infinite duration (or until broken). Now, this, in theory is a terrific idea. It can provide teamwork, and force players who normally did not ward to consider doing so. It makes it so the entire map is no longer lit up, allowing for more strategy.

LeagueOfLegendsFullPush

At least, this is the theory. In high-level gameplay, this is more likely. But, at the lower levels/casual gameplay, people still expect the support to do all the warding, and become frustrated when there are not a ton of wards across the map. Perhaps people don't read patch notes. Now, there is a trinket (a new slot, that does not take up the normal six) that allows you to place wards every x amount of minutes. Lots of people buy it, but most do not bother to use the ward that is there! So, in theory, I love this. In practice, not quite so much. I realize this is can be a slanted opinion, but from personal experience, this happens a lot more than I'd care to admit.

LeagueOfLegends3v3Rework

Who Needs A Map?

There were a variety of changes to the map and to the jungle in this season. Now, I'm not much of a jungler, but I do it on occasion. The changes to the map can be considered good for lane members, and in theory, can be very bad for ganking from the jungle. Now the mobs in the jungle have a level and increase in strength as the game progresses. Weaker junglers may have a hard time getting started, but if they fall behind, the increased exp is a great boon on their behalf. Also in the jungle is a new enemy, a large Wraith that sits near the wall, away from the camps. It can be tagged over walls quite easily, allowing for some pretty interesting counter-ganks, or pulling it away from a jungler to deny them exp.

LeagueOfLegendsJungle

Also on the map are shorter bushes. It looks to me like the lawnkeepers got tired of the scraggly, long bushes and decided to tend the Fields of Justice a little better. I like this, personally, because it forces people to think about what their goal in a particular lane is. Gone are the days of super long bushes, where one ward will not accurately offer illumination, or when two players could wander the same bush and not see each other to initiate combat or offer assistance. That was one of the most absurd things to me, and now that it is cleared and fixed up, it makes life a lot more interesting in battle.

LeagueOfLegendsAce

Everyone's got a Price

And everyone's got to pay. Money, as stated above, has changed quite a bit in League of Legends. It is still the same manner, in that you kill creeps, use items, and runes to allow a heavier flow of currency, but a few things have changed about it that players should be aware of. One of the big things that turn the early tide of a game are kill streaks, bounties, and assists. In the early parts of the game, the extra gold gained from these can really make the game feel insurmountable, with one side getting lots of kill streaks, offering them impressive items that allow them quite a bit of room for error to prevent their enemies from breaking the streak to gain a bounty bonus. With this in mind, Riot made these starter items a little less overwhelming, keeping things fair at least in the very early stages of a match. I am of two minds on this: when on the winning side, I hate it! I'm only human, after all. But when on the losing side, the lesser effects are gratifying. It allows for a little hope.

LeagueOfLegendsPrice

Controlling Dragon kills can be a steady way to get the game back in your favor as well, or secure your lead into a quick victory for the winning side. However, the Dragon offers differing values of gold and experience now, depending on how long the game has gone on. Local experience is also granted to those who participate. Those who are at a lower level get a little more exp too, offering a chance that they can catch up and recovery from a rough start. The global gold is pretty fantastic, to boot. Speaking of global gold, the global gold gained from turrets and inhibitors could sway early to mid-game, and the devs realized this after early push tactics began dominating the e-sports scene. To counter it, the global gold was reduced a bit, to prevent some lanes from getting out of control when they did no work. However, the local gold for the people who actually pushed the tower/inhib went up! Overall, gold is a little easier to get for many roles in Season 4, which I highly appreciate/approve of.

LeagueOfLegendsTowerHugging

And since I could not think of another place to put it, I will make another mention here of an important change to early-game League matches. Death Timers in the early going have been lowered, to help players get right back to the fight, and stop the super early tower push, offering a bit more help to players who are getting bullied under their tower straight away.

LeagueOfLegendsS4Ranked

Ragachak And The Magical Adventures of Cardboard 27

There have been a few changes to Ranked play as well. I do not have much concrete information on Ranked this season, since after my personal experiences, I decided a break was necessary. Towards the beginning of the season, we learned that no longer can you gain immunity from dropping from one league to another. This can be good and bad, again. There are almost always two sides to this. No longer can people troll Silver V and expect to never get booted back to Bronze where they perhaps belong. However, my personal experience has been that in the beginning of the season, it was not a good idea to play ranked. The matchmaking seemed very off, with players who did not belong in your ELO carrying teams with unbelievable skill and awareness. Combined with plenty of people ragequiting and server instability causing disconnects, it made for a very sour ranked experience.

LeagueOFLegendsDisconnects1

I will be the first to say I am not a great player. I'm average, or less, at best. But I play games because I enjoy them. When I could no longer enjoy ranked play, I went back to playing normal, and ARAMs, because, thanks to a few good people, I remembered the reason I played League in the first place: To have fun. If you do not have fun in a mode, do not do it! It is ill-advised to make ranked a hassle for others by trolling and afking on purpose, just so others cannot have fun. No matter how bad things get, there's always something to look forward to. It is an unfortunate aspect of League of Legends community, that it is incredibly toxic. There are a plethora of good people, and I have had the pleasure of knowing many of them. But for every one good person, there are three ready to name-call and harass. Again: Play the modes you have fun with. There is no reason to ruin someone else's fun because of your hangups. That's enough of me sitting on my pulpit. . . it is however, one of the most harrying things about MOBA games in general.

LeagueOfLegendsVictory

Victory? Defeat?

Score – Great

The graphics engine of League of Legends has come a long way since its inception. With each passing patch, new ideas for character designs come about, and slowly but surely, a lot of those old champions are getting visual overhauls to update the graphics. Not all of them have been done, but the ones that are upgraded are always fantastic. The folks at Riot do deliver a pretty to look at product that can still be enjoyed by virtually all levels of PC power.

Pretty standard MOBA controls, but they to me are generally very tight. You can adjust mouse sensitivity in game, and even smart-casting (casting wherever the mouse is pointed instead of hitting the button, then clicking) is strong, except in a few instances, such as Thresh's flay. Not perfect by any stretch, but strong nonetheless. The dial for Missing/On The Way/etc is a little wonky if you aren't used to it, but it grows on you and becomes a steady part of your gameplay.

While I laud Riot for making cool features and game modes like ARAM (All Random), the other cool modes often vanish as swiftly as they appear. I did not even get to enjoy Hexakill, and All For One disappeared just as fast. The downside of playing MOBAs is that there is not a lot of variety in game modes; you log in, and you play the same maps you play every time. This can become incredibly tiring, no matter how much you love the gameplay.

While I do feel the music for the loading screens is fantastic, each champion/patch having its own unique, flavored music that fits their character (See Jinx as one of the best examples), the ingame music I tend to turn down, as well as some of the other sound effects. Not because I think they are bad, but because they distract me from the game at hand. Listening to the same music for hundreds of matches can grate on anyone's nerves. I am no exception to this. So while I do think they're pretty great to hear, after a while, I just want to tune them out.
League of Legends is a multiplayer online battle arena – MOBA – ran by Riot Games and is one of the most popular amongst them. League of Legends is known world-wide and is very popular amongst gamers. Due to its popularity, it has also developed into a competitive e-sport as well. Every month, Riot Games adds one or more champions to League of Legends and releases at least one skin with every champion releases. Every month also holds at least one update or patch to the game and players can often look forward to seeing a new addition added. These changes will often be based on the community and players rather than just certain changes that need to be made. The game content and the community have made League of Legends the most popular MOBA-style game on the market right now.

Gameplay & In-game shop
If individuals have played other MOBA-style games, they'll be familiar with League of Legend's play style. The differences between MOBA-style games comes with champions but most of them will use a system where certain champions have abilities to help them survive on a battle field and to fight other champions. Players have to work together in a fast-paced gameplay that involves certain strategic planning and engagements to come out victorious in every match.

As matches start up and progress, players will receive gold. Gold can also be obtained by killing minions, jungle creeps, towers, and other champions. This gold is used to buy items to increase a champion's stats and abilities. When matches run for a long period of time, champions will become very strong and every team fight will end in multiple champion deaths and certain objectives will be accomplished.

Teamfight breaking out and players dying

Graphics
For League of Legends, every graphic is well done. Certain champions need a graphical touch up, but those champions receive their updates when patches are added into the game and when all prior testing has been done on the public beta environment. The maps look great and I personally think that the only thing that needs improvement is Summoner's Rift, the 5v5 map. If certain details look outdated, Riot Games will often look into the situation for the community and decide what needs to be fixed. The Shadow Isle map was once Twisted Treeline, but Riot Games did a complete overhaul of Twisted Treeline and made it a very sinister looking map. My favorite map, due to its graphics, is the Howling Abyss map.

Champions & Skins
Playing the game is one thing, knowing the champions is another. It is helpful to know what skills certain champions have in the case that players are faced against them. League of Legends is not as simple as pressing keys and hoping things die. Every champion has a different skill set that plays particular to that champion and works well in conjunction with certain other champions. To allow players to test out different champions, there is a weekly free champion rotation. Other than that, players must buy their selected champions with riot points or influence points to keep them permanently.

In addition, every champion is released with skin(s) and certain champions will receive or have received multiple skins due to special occasions or Riot Games decisions to make skins for a certain champions. Often times, the skins will have special particle effects that go along with the designated skins. However, most skins will cost Riot Points (requires real money). Riot Games will occasionally provide a chance for players to obtain skins for free at certain gatherings, special events, or online events.

Game modes/maps

• Summoner's Rift

-Summoner's Rift is the oldest 5v5 map for League of legends. This is the main mode that is played in tournaments and is also the most played map for League of Legends. Most of the strategies and tactics will be seen on this map. The matches held in Summoner's Rift will often be the longest matches compared to the other maps. Teams usually consist of two single champion lanes, one duo lane, and a jungler.

• Shadow Isle

– Shadow Isle is a map designated for a team of three to face off against another team of three. This map is much smaller than the Summoner's Rift and the map has certain mechanics that other maps do not. I personally do not play this map very much, but this map often consists of a two single champion lanes and a single jungler.

• Crystal Scar

– This is a dominion-type map that has players capture certain points. When one team has claimed more capture points than the other team, the team that has less capture points will begin to lose life points off their Nexus. As the match progresses and the life points become lower, the music will change as well. For this map, players don't really have designated lanes or roles. If anything, teams will often send a single player to the bottom capture point and the rest would head for the top capture point.

• Howling Abyss

– The Howling Abyss holds an ARAM mode (All Random All Mid) that was created by the community. Players don't get to choose their champions and the map is a single lane. The game mode was first played on Summoner's Rift where all the players would send their champion down mid lane and no other lanes would be used. In this mode, everyone basically beats on each others' faces.

Roles

• Tank/Initiator

– Most of the time, tanks will be hold the same idea as tanks from other games. Their role is to jump into the thicket of things to get things started and to get the attention of opponent champions. Not all initiators are tanks but the idea behind this role is to start a team fight or to start an engagement with the enemy team.

• Jungler/Main Ganker

– Most games will have a jungler in them. A jungler's role is to clear their team's jungle for experience and to gank whenever an opportunity presents itself. The jungler will be the main ganker for most games because of the constant surprise of the jungler not presenting himself/herself to the opposing team. Basically, this role allows players to be an unwelcomed guest.

• Carry

– Most games, there are two much defined roles. These are the ability power (AP) carry and the attack damage (AD) carry. These carries are often the champions that have the least defenses. The sole purpose of these roles is to deal raw damage to the enemy team. It's important for these players to stay alive the most as they are needed completely for every late game engagement. For this to happen, most carries need the other players on their team to help keep them alive to do their carrying duty.

• Support

– The role of a support is to keep their allies buffed, healthy, and ready. Supports are often the players that need to keep a look on everything. It's important for supports to constantly be on alert to avoid being caught and constantly be on the lookout for an opportunity to attack. Basically, a support's job is to hold a player's hand and lead them to the toilet at night.

Normal vs Ranked
Shadow Isle and Summoner's Rift have have both normal and ranked matches as opposed to the normal matches. Ranked matches allow players to play seriously against other players to place themselves higher on rankings which do not existent in normal matches. Some players will see these matches as the same as normal matches and will see it as a way of self improvement and nothing more. To others, these ranked matches are to generally the bragging rights bestowed upon those who care.

Runes & Masteries
In League of Legends, there are runes and masteries that allow players to give small advantages to their champion. These small advantages could be just the things that players need for their champions. Masteries are free buy more mastery points are earned as players gain levels. Runes are obtained only by the use of influence points and may take quite a while to collect if a player is new. A player is given two rune pages for free; to obtain more, players must purchase them. Players may have up to twenty pages of masteries and runes. Although certain masteries and runes are recommended in certain situations, they're a matter of a individual's personal choice.

RP & IP
RP is the abbreviation of "Riot Points." Riot Points are only obtainable through using real money. RP allows a player to purchase champions and champion skins. It also allows players to purchase more rune pages, boosts, bundles, and ward skins (during special occasions). However, the RP cannot be used to obtained runes. Players are also allowed to purchase or use RP to gift other players.
IP is the abbreviation of Influence Points." These points are earned after every match and are used for champions, ward skins (during special occasions), and runes only. To provide a sense of equality, players may only purchase runes with IP to avoid any in-game advantages.

Tournaments & Championships
Due to League of Legend's popularity, it has become one of the most played and most well-known competitive e-sports to date. Championships allow professional players to compete for a cash pool up to millions of dollars. There are small tournaments that are held by the community and by well known companies, like Alienware, to allow casual player to participate in a chance to win some prize money as well. These tournaments also help expand interest and player base by getting the name out to the public.

LOTRO 2015: New Instances, PvMP Zone, Legendary Revamp

LOTRO 2015: New Instances, PvMP Zone, Legendary Revamp – Lord of Rings Online

The Lord of the Rings Online Executive Producer Athena "Vyvyanne" Peters today posted the first Producer's Letter of 2015, wherein she discussed Turbine's plans for the MMO for the coming year.

Peters promises new group instances as the game pushes forward to Minas Tirith and Osgiliath, where the closing battles for the War of the Ring were fought, as well as a new kind of episodic content which she compares to a TV show, and the squashing of the game's "most persistent bugs."

LOTRO_ScreenShot
LOTRO Online

But as a long-time LOTRO player who just crafted a first-age level 100 greatsword, my lidless eye was drawn to the mention of a reworking of legendary items that will let you keep your top-level weapons, which will be able to gain experience apparently indefinitely. The skeptical part of me figures it'll just be replacing one grind with another, and I could probably write entire paragraphs on my dissatisfaction with the legendary item system, but any improvement would be greatly appreciated.

The final item on the list was talk of a new player-versus-monster-player zone in Osgiliath, which would be the first new space in that ilk in about seven years. That's major news to the Ettenmoors crowd, which is still oddly alive, at least on my home server of Arkenstone, despite having little new to do. The letter says that the area would focus on "smaller and more tightly focused conflicts," which might lead one to speculate that it could be fixed-group battleground-style PvP.

In any case, it's always nice to have hope for new stuff… now we'll just have to wait and see how well Turbine can deliver!

Add, Setup Custom Domain Name, URL in Blogger, Blogspot

How to Add, Setup Custom Domain Name (URL) in Blogger, Blogspot???

Hello Bloggers,

When it it comes to blogging, we have two types of options, one being paid web hosts and another being free web hosts. Under free free web hosting we can run down to use two most famous platforms: WordPress, Blogspot. The only common difference being WordPress charges $13 dollars for setting up a custom domain name and Blogger is completely free.

Both WordPress and Blogspot are free blogging platforms. Yet you can find WordPress for self hosting too.

Coming to the topic, one of the most searched terms when using Blogspot blogging platform is “How to Add Custom Domain Name for Blogger”, “How to Add Custom URL to Blogspot”, “How to Setup Custom Domain name for Blogspot”, “Add Custom URL to Blogspot”.

Add, Setup Custom Domain Name Blogger, Blogspot

Add, Setup Custom Domain Name Blogger, Blogspot

Blogspot is a free blogging or free publishing platform provided by Google and is not so much SEO friendly though you can run down and customize it to your taste yet, the options are quite limited. I have personally used Blogspot to host Gameforumer.com and I am still using Blogspot, Blogger for many blogs and having a custom domain name, URL helps a lot, yet I have said: “Having a Custom Domain Name may not be required, if you get enough traffic, visitors to your blog”, however having a domain name builds credibility to your blog, I still see many blogs using Blogspot and getting millions of visitors per month, making money just from Adsense.

How to Setup, Add Custom Domain Name (URL) to Blogspot, Blogger? (Step by Step)

  • Register a domain name
  • Log in to your Domain Registrar page
  • Select the Domain name you want to add to Blogspot
  • Now log in to your Blogspot Account
  • Select the sub domain you want to add the Custom Domain Name (URL)
  • Go to Settings -> Basic -> Publishing section -> click the link to add a custom domain.

Add a custom domain Blogger, Blogger

Add a custom domain Blogger, Blogger

  • Click -> Add a custom domain -> type in the URL you want to add – > Save
  • Add a custom domain Blogger, Blogger

Add a custom domain Blogger, Blogger

  • You will see errors which are two CNAMES.
  • Each CNAME is composed of two parts – Name, Label or Host and Destination, Target or Points to. The first CNAME is the same for everyone, Name being “www” and Destination “ghs.google.com.” The second CNAME is particular to your blog and your Google Account, and so different for each person.
  • Now, go to your domain registrar’s website and find the DNS (Domain Name System) settings in the control panel.
  • Add  Name, Label or Host simply enter “www” and list ghs.google.com as the Destination, Target or Points to.
  • Enter the second CNAME in the same way
  • Add “A” Records in your domain registrars panel.
  • “A” Record links your naked domain (example.com) to an actual site (www.example.com). If you skip this step, visitors who leave off the “www” will see an error page.
  • Enter your domain name in the format example.com, and list the I.P. addresses shown below in the “A” section. You’ll need to create four separate A-records which point to four different Google IPs.216.239.32.21
    216.239.34.21
    216.239.36.21
    216.239.38.21
  • You will have wait about an hour for your DNS settings to activate, this is what is called as “DNS Propagation”.
  • DNS Propagation sometimes takes from 1 minute to 24 hours, sometimes up to 48 hours, this often depends from domain registrars to domain registrars.
  • After an hour -> log in to your Blogspot Account -> Select the sub domain you want to add the Custom Domain Name (URL) -> Go to Settings -> Basic -> Publishing section -> click the link to add a custom domain -> Click -> Add a custom domain -> type in the URL you want to add – > Save
  • If you receive error, then you will have wait for another 7 hours and try to set up your custom domain name in Blogspot, Blogger account.
  • Once the DNS propagation has completed, you will no longer receive any errors upon adding Custom Domain Name in to Blogspot, Blogger Account.
  • Now, Click – > View Blog -> You must see a new tab with your blog with Custom Domain Name.
  • Done!!!

Follow the step by step procedure to add, setup custom domain name URL for Blogger, Blogspot.

Conclusion: Adding Custom Domain name not only helps in branding your blog, but also helps in SEO purposes. People do go for FDN (Full Domain Names) then Sub Domain Name when searching in search engines like Google, Bing.

ArcheAge MMORPG Online Game Review

ArcheAge MMORPG Online Game Review

ScreenShot0001

It's a really quick review about this game. The mmo ArcheAge exists in two versions: a free-to-play (with a restriction to the housing and the crafts, unable to sell items to the Auction House) or a monthly subscription to enjoy the aspects of the sandbox, to increase the regeneration of your labor points, to get a bonus of experience, etc.

ScreenShot0122
To begin, you choose between six classes. At level 5, you choose another class, and finally, at level 10, you choose a third class to create your custom skill sets (10 available specializations = 120 skill sets). But to be effective during a fight, you have to choose some unavoidable talents associations.
For fighting, targeting is manual and only the add of the combos brings a little interest. Also, the Storyline of your character in ArcheAge doesn't offer a complex story, it is nearly nonexistent. The quests are too repetitive and you have to cope with an obsolete system: the first one who hits a mob gets the loot. It's dull and boring. It seems that the developers were too lazy to give quality content.

ARCHEAGE 2014-08-27 03-31-39-269

For the aspect of the sandbox, it's the same idea. The available residential or farming areas to players are clearly delineated, it's led to crowded residential neighborhoods. You can't harvest what you want (woods, stones, weeds, water. etc are specifically defined). If it's to keep up the landscape, i don't see the point of the sandbox.
For the PVP aspect ("openworld"), there are already two factions and most of the Endgame content is based on PvP. For each island, there are safe areas and there are areas at risk with a level of danger. So you have to be careful when you travel. Also, some choose the PK mode so you must be wary of players from your own faction.

GCS0005
One of the positive points in the game is the way to travel. The Worldgates teleports you to a save place (a specific place scribed in your teleport book, an area you already have visited). Also, the first mount comes earlier in the game by a quest. The mounts gain levels, new skills and can wear armor. On sea and air, the gliders (you can get one with a quest) and the marine ships are fun, they can be built and upgraded thanks to the craft.

ScreenShot0038

The felony is a part of the game too and this is why there is a prison (on an island). If you kill players or steal in private crops, you let blood trails or footprints and you take crime points (reports from other players). When you reach a number of crime points, you go to court for a trial with a jury composed by other players. The sentence is usually the prison, you can escape from this place but with a debuff that limits what you can do.
Now, you can choose to be a pirat. You have to get an amount of infamy points (when you earn 1 crime point, you gain 1 infamy point) and then, you get kicked out of your own faction, you can travel to pirate island (your new respawn, new friendly NPCs and quests), create a Pirate Guild, etc.

ARCHEAGE 2014-08-27 18-33-02-429

The graphics are correct; of course, it's not perfect and a lot of details are often neglected. Even if you've seen it all before (Lineage? Indeed), it has the advantage of bringing some landscapes diversity. Forests, jungles, grassy plains, deserts, high mountains make up various scenarios.

ARCHEAGE 2014-08-27 01-37-46-872
If the PVE and PVP bore you to death and if you need Gilda Stars, it then remains the solution to craft items and to trade them. You begin by harvesting local ingredients (or buy in the Auction House). Then, you buy a Quality Certificate and you choose a workbench to produce. Next, to carry and deliver your heavy trade packs, you use donkeys, ships, carriages or airships. Of course, you need to protect your trade packs so pay attention to the PvP regions, mobs and highway robbers. And, at last, when the delivery is done, you receive your reward: gold or Gilda Stars to buy items such as blueprints, crafting components, etc.

ScreenShot0169

In concluding, ArcheAge is a PVE / PVP MMO without a real major innovations. The launch of the game was a big failure (especially for those who bought the game in early access) due to full servers, a too long waiting list to get into the game and several nasty loading issues. ArcheAge hasn't a big interest for me. I played during the betas and i had the hope to see a better game for the release. Now, it's my opinion, and you can try by yourself to judge it.

Call of Duty Online – Chris Evan becomes game spokesperson for Tencent

China's biggest games company, Tencent Games, recently announced the no-limit test phase for Call of Duty Online, scheduled to start on 11th January 2015. The China-exclusive Call of Duty game also nabbed "Captain America", Chris Evans, as the new spokesperson, as seen in the teaser trailer below. Looks like the American love ain't lost, given how a competitor previously epic-failed.

he official full-length trailer will be revealed at a later date. I guess "Captain America" isn't tired enough with all the shootings for the Marvel movies. The trailer was apparently shot in Taiwan, not China. Call of Duty Online is currently in-development by Raven Software, the studio which made the the multiplayer modes for Call of Duty: Ghosts and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare.

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Game – No Download – Unbiased Review

Runescape Online Browser Based MMORPG – Unbiased Review

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Game

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Game

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Gameplay

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Gameplay

Runescape is the only MMORPG which had nothing to download, What I mean is the Client download, unlike other MMORPGS Online Games which requires huge client to download prior playing. Runescape nullifies this and instead has built in version of the game which runs on the browser platform. All it takes is a java version to play.

First when one registers for the game the player lands in the town of his selection there are several races to choose from and depending on the race the player is starts the Runscape journey.

When I first stared playing Runescape Game I was like WTF? as it was in 2000 as I had never seen a 2D models which abruptly runs on the browser platform and is built heavily on the maths strings. I was like how do I even proceed, having the fear I landed in the game where there were rarely any race as today with only a Human Race.

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Game Players

Runescape Online Browser MMORPG Game Players

Everything in Runescape MMORPG Online Game runs just like other game though this bases upon ones  internet speed, a good game play can be experienced, not to say I could play this game even with a dial up modem.

Everything in the game runs smoothly just as in other MMO Games, however you come across many players vining with H@cks and cr@cks. I am so sure till day the same thing exists.

Major constraints to play Runscape Online MMORPG Game was how to be competent against other players? Invariable the game takes its toll of months before even you can grow up strong against other Runescape Players.

Recent notes from Runescape shows that Premium or subscription allows players with full Runescape content, Extra Equipments, wide variety of Quests, resources and huge game world of Runescape to explore, however players with no subscription can also explore the game with no requirement to pay money for Runescape. I never plaid even a single penny for the Runescape Game.

Runescape Game has wide variety of quests, maps, players to compete with, market place, mining, hunting and many more, less said here would be best which allows players to continuously go on and on playing.

I have seen a players who used to play Runescape for nearly 20 hours every day!!! Imaging how much potential the game has!!!

Not to be towards the game nor to be against it as this review is unbiased and on personal review of Runescape MMORPG Online game. I will have to more than a neutral when speaking about any MMORPG online games here, as showing only good side may bring players o the game and then making mockery is not a good side nor showing bad side is acceptable. GOOD will surely bring players however bad may turnacate players from Runescape or be it any MMORPG Online Game.

Runescape Online Game Player Types

Runescape Online Game Player Types (developer at Jagex)

When ever I play Runescape I always have this conception in mind that Runescape Online Game is more of the kids oriented MMO Game, I only coincide players with immature mentality but eventually I do come across players who not just of my age of 26, but much much older generation, like 80’s??? This makes some sense when ever I play this game as I always coincide players of all the ages, though you will eventually come across kids, teenagers, big boys, older generation people. Getting together in this game is just like a lullaby parade, if you know how to, if not I would advice to solo as most part of the game is solo, grinding which you will eventually love and get used to it.  Let me frankly say this ‘If you love clicking the mouse, always, then yes this is the game which you surely like and love to play!!!’ (I am not the man in the Image above :<)

&nbs

p;

Music is eventually is what you will get used to and betray you sometimes!!! As always this is something Jagex has done good. Have unlimited plans, if you are going to play this game, as Limited plans will tear your wallets for sure!!!

You can communicate with players, in game, global, and friends, attends parties, make absolute non sense [being notorious is sometime good, isn’t it??] Even GOD does so, What to speak of us mere Human’s???

Dying is something skeptical in Runescape Game, as you will lose mostly all your equipments, items in backpack or bag including money, I have lost several times, though you can run back and get them, if your luck permits to do so. This applies, while in PvP, or while battling Monsters and even quests. beware, you will lose all your equips in game, if you get killed by other players in PvP enabled zones or in actual PvP, Choom* Abra, Khadabra, all your equipments, money, items will be in snap taken away by other player who b@tt kicked you.

In conclusion all I have to say is that ‘If you are casual or a dedicated player, then go for it. If you are just let me try and play once in a blue moon day, then don’t even imaging to play this game!!!.’

Robots.txt file Optimization for WordPress Blogs the right way for Search Engine Bots and Spiders

Posted: 27 Dec 2014 05:44 AM PST

Robots.txt file Optimization for WordPress Blogs the right way for Search Engine Bots and Spiders

Wordpress CMS

WordPress CMS

Normally I come across a common Question How to Optimize Robots.txt file for WordPress?? So today I have decided to run threw how to optimize WordPress Robots.txt file for WordPress SEO.

WordPress is blog CMS which has an inbuilt ability to generate robots.txt file virtually or by default, though there are some thumb rules which one has to follow in order to optimize them properly.

Having Robots.txt file properly setup in best way you help search engine bots, spiders and crawlers like Google, Bing to index your wordpress blog in search results.

Robots.txt not only helps in search engine bots index your WordPress blogs but also helps in locating your content properly, like what to index, what not to index.

Indexing and not indexing is set in robots.txt file and the rules mentioned are always followed by search engines.

WordPress SEO is one of the core concepts I normally come across on the Web and WordPress Robots.txt is another factor that affects the overall SEO of the WordPress blogs.

So lets see how WordPress robots.txt looks basically:

Wordpress Robots.txt file

WordPress Robots.txt file

Now, I will show you how to disallow specific directories which are always ignored or vomited by search engine spiders, crawlers, bots:

Wordpress Robots.txt optimization Disallow Syntax

WordPress Robots.txt optimization Disallow Syntax

As you see above in the red line zone, what ever you add will always be ignored by search engine bots and will never crawl them.

Now lets see what gets crawled in WordPress robots.txt file:

Wordpress Robots.txt file Optimization Allow Syntax

WordPress Robots.txt file Optimization Allow Syntax

Rules of Thumb while optimizing WordPress Robots.txt file:

  1.  Always add the file path which you do not want search engine spiders to  Disallow syntax
  2.  Adding file path to Allow syntax will make the search engine bots to index such a file.
  3. Once you have completed adding making robots.txt file, check it at Google webmaster tools for any error.
  4. Place WordPress Robots.txt file at the root level and not inside any folder.
  5. Always follow above rules and you will maximize WordPress SEO using WordPress Robots.txt file

Now lets understand What is the use of robots.txt in WordPress and Why do we need it?

Robots.txt is one of the basic factor what search engines take into consideration while indexing any website.

For example: Gameforumer.com

According to Google:

A robots.txt file is a text file that stops web crawler software, such as Googlebot, from crawling certain pages of your site. The file is essentially a list of commands, such Allow and Disallow, that tell web crawlers which URLs they can or cannot retrieve. So, if a URL is disallowed in your robots.txt, that URL and its contents won’t appear in Google Search results.

As you see above , as per the statement of Google itself,  robots.txt specifies the patch to search spiders, bots, crawlers, whether a files path can be crawled or not.

An example of Gameforumer.com Robots.txt File

Now lets see what Matt Cutt (Google’s Web Spam Head) has to say about Robots.txt

So how to make Robots.txt file?

The simplest robots.txt file uses two key words, User-agent and Disallow. User-agents are search engine robots (or web crawler software); most user-agents are listed in the Web Robots Database. Disallow is a command for the user-agent that tells it not to access a particular URL. On the other hand, to give Google access to a particular URL that is a child directory in a disallowed parent directory, then you can use a third key word, Allow.

Google uses several user-agents, such as Googlebot for Google Search, Googlebot-Mobile for Google Search on your feature phone, and Googlebot-Image for Google Image Search. Most Google user-agents follow the rules you set up for Googlebot, but you can override this option and make specific rules for only certain Google user-agents as well.

The syntax for using the keywords is as follows:

User-agent: [the name of the robot the following rule applies to]

Disallow: [the URL path you want to block]

Allow: [the URL path in of a sub directory, within a blocked parent directory, that you want to unblock]

These two lines are together considered a single entry in the file, where the Disallow rule only applies to the user-agent(s) specified above it. You can include as many entries as you want, and multiple Disallow lines can apply to multiple user-agents, all in one entry. You can set the User-agent command to apply to all web crawlers by listing an asterisk (*) as in the example below:

User-agent: *

You can block URLs using the bellow patterns for WordPress Robots.txt file:

Block…

Sample

The entire site with a forward slash (/): Disallow: /
A directory and its contents by following the directory name with a forward slash: Disallow: /sample-directory/
A webpage by listing the page after the slash: Disallow: /private_file.html
A specific image from Google Images: User-agent: Googlebot-ImageDisallow: /images/dogs.jpg
All images on your site from Google Images: User-agent: Googlebot-ImageDisallow: /
Files of a specific file type (for example, .gif): User-agent: GooglebotDisallow: /*.gif$
Pages on your site, but show AdSense ads on those pages, disallow all web crawlers other than Mediapartners-Google. This implementation hides your pages from search results, but the Mediapartners-Google web crawler can still analyze them to decide what ads to show visitors to your site. User-agent: *Disallow: /User-agent: Mediapartners-GoogleAllow: /
Note that directives are case-sensitive. For instance, Disallow: /file.asp would block http://www.example.com/file.asp, but would allow http://www.example.com/File.asp. Googlebot also ignores white-space, and unknown directives in the robots.txt.

You can use use bellow pattern for WordPress Robots.txt file:

Pattern-matching rule

Sample

To block any sequence of characters, use an asterisk (*). For instance, the sample code blocks access to all subdirectories that begin with the word “private”: User-agent: GooglebotDisallow: /private*/
To block access to all URLs that include question marks (?). For example, the sample code blocks URLs that begin with your domain name, followed by any string, followed by a question mark, and ending with any string: User-agent: GooglebotDisallow: /*?
To block any URLs that end in a specific way, use $. For instance, the sample code blocks any URLs that end with .xls: User-agent: GooglebotDisallow: /*.xls$
To block patterns with the Allow and Disallow directives, see the sample to the right. In this example, a ? indicates a session ID. URLs that contain these IDs should typically be blocked from Google to prevent web crawlers from crawling duplicate pages. Meanwhile, if some URLs ending with ? are versions of the page that you want to include, you can use the following approach of combining Allow and Disallow directives:

  1. The Allow: /*?$ directive allows any URL that ends in a ? (more specifically, it allows a URL that begins with your domain name, followed by a string, followed by a ?, with no characters after the ?).
  2. The Disallow: / *? directive blocks any URL that includes a ? (more specifically, it blocks a URL that begins with your domain name, followed by a string, followed by a question mark, followed by a string).

How to save WordPress Robots.txt file?

Save your robots.txt file

You must apply the following saving conventions so that Googlebot and other web crawlers can find and identify your robots.txt file:

  • You must save your robots.txt code as a text file,
  • You must place the file in the highest-level directory of your site (or the root of your domain), and
  • The robots.txt file must be named robots.txt.

As an example, a robots.txt file saved at the root of example.com, at the URL address http://www.example.com/robots.txt, can be discovered by web crawlers, but a robots.txt file at http://www.example.com/not_root/robots.txt cannot be found by any web crawler.

Robots.txt for WordPress:

In a simple notepad add the follow codes and you all set!!!

User-agent: * Disallow: /cgi-bin/ Disallow: /wp-admin/ Disallow: /wp-content/ Disallow: /wp-includes/ Disallow: /recommended/ Disallow: /comments/feed/ Disallow: /trackback/ Disallow: /index.php Disallow: /xmlrpc.php Disallow: /wp-content/plugins/ User-agent: NinjaBot Allow: / User-agent: Mediapartners-Google* Allow: / User-agent: Googlebot-Image Allow: /wp-content/uploads/ User-agent: Adsbot-Google Allow: / User-agent: Googlebot-Mobile Allow: / In Conclusion: Having Robots.txt for WordPress not just only helps Web Crawlers like Google, Bing to discover your website, index them according to the rules set in robots.txt file, but also helps much in reduction of Duplicate Content which is also another primary factor in SEO. See Robots.txt in action: http://www.gameforumer.com/robots.txt References: WordPress (Self hosting platform) Google robots.txt Guidelines Matt Cutt Robots.txt Video (Youtube) Image: Google.com Comment bellow and let me know what do you think!!

RuneScape Online MMORPG Game Player Reviews – What Users Say

RuneScape Online is one of the browser based online game, where players play, interact, hunt, level up, fight, conquer, solo, grind online in a virtual environment.

Runescape Online Player Reviews
RuneScape Online Player Reviews

Today, we will go through a player review about RuneScape MMORPG Online Browser Based Game.

RuneScape has terrible graphics, terrible sound, horrible cut scenes, and disastrous game play lead to an unexpectedly addicting game that shouldn’t be played by those who value their lives. NOT their pix elated, fake, RuneScape lives, mind you. Their REAL lives.

Believe me, when I first heard of this game, I dove in head-first, not sure what to expect. I was incredibly naive in making that terrible decision. You want to know what I got out of it? I risked being isolated from actual good gaming. I nearly forgot about my consoles and was glued to the computer as often as possible. In doing so, I pretty much sat in a cold, dark cave while I played this so-called RuneScape “game” all day. Little did I know I was being scammed into an MMORPG that shouldn’t even be classified as such. I honestly don’t care if fan boys bash me for this review. What I’m trying to do as an honest-to-goodness gamer is warn people about this. What do you do in this RuneScape game? You mine, collect money, trade with other players, beg on the streets for money, buy armor and weapons, and search a full world of pixel delight, while at the same time (if you’re new to the game), get called by poor and pathetic insults. Fun? Maybe at first. I actually got farther in the game than many of you might think, around level 40 out of around 120-130. It was then that I realized what I’ve been doing for countless hours a day. I was constantly trying to collecting, adding to my level, and killing pathetic creatures (A unicorn, for God’s sake!). Nothing else. That’s really what the game boils down to.

What I can’t help but to complain about is the RuneScape online community itself. The people playing with you are all hooked on the game, and when you stop to ask for help, they either keep moving or simply call you a noob, then keep moving.

What bothers me the most is the RuneScape graphics. How people who could be playing great games with unbelievable graphical effects get obsessed with a game that looks graphically inferior to any great console out there I’ll never know.

Hmm…perhaps there’s another thing that’s been on my mind for some time now. The RuneScape game is free to play, that is, if you don’t want to explore the entire world of RS. To get ALL of the features, you have to subscribe. How much does it worth, though? Go ahead, guess. How about “5 bucks a month,” or in real language, SIXTY BUCKS A YEAR. That is TWENTY whole dollars more than a year subscription to Xbox Live Gold. Hello? Not only is it insanely overpriced, but once you’ve started playing the F2P (free to play) version, you’ll actually be tempted to buy it! Imagine that!

Bottom line: I hate RuneScape. I loathe it to the core. Don’t make the most regrettable game decision you’ve ever made in your life by subscribing, or even STARTING this game. Avoid it. The graphics are terrible. There isn’t a story. This is simply proof to show that JaGeX couldn’t make a good game if they tried. And they did. And they failed. Horribly.

Conclusion: Forget it–don’t listen to any friends about this game (RuneScape), as it is simply a waste of time and money. I am so tempted to give all of my stuff away, but then again, why bother? They made a mistake in starting this game anyway. Do us all real gamers a favor and DON’T support this game. It doesn’t deserve it.

Thank You, aaronfilmltd for the review. I really appreciate it.

Backlinks, SEO – Are they worth??

Posted: 24 Dec 2014 03:41 AM PST

Backlinks , Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Are they Worth???

SEO Backlinks

SEO Backlinks

Today I am going to discuss how much Backlinks are worth in SEO?

Search Engine Optimization also called as SEO, is a process of primarily optimizing the websites or blogs for the gaining rankings in search results like Google, bing networks. SEO contains two factors on page and off page for ranking, though on page is must and off page can be subordinate.

I often hear on various SEO forums and community boards focusing on Search Engine Optimization about a primary topic “How to rank on Search Engines??”, “How to rank in Google??”, “Obtain number 1 position in Google”. All I see people jumping on topics like concentrate on backlinks.

By now you should have known what topic I am about to focus on?? No! No problem, Its Backlinks, one of the most primarily spoken topics in Search Engine Marketing, Search Engine Optimization field.

Backlinks is one topic which are commonly outspoken in Search Engine Community.

  • So, What is BackLinks By the Way??

According to Wikipedia:

Backlinks, also known as incoming links, inbound links, inlinks, and inward links, are incoming links to a website or web page. In basic link terminology, a backlink is any link received by a web node (web page, directory, website, or top level domain) from another web node

Note:  I will often quote, examples and statements from other websites quite often.

An example of Backlink:

Backlink example
Backlink example

So now as you see many Websites link to your website allowing your website to rank, I call these incoming links as backlinks.

Today Backlinks have got not much value as Google Search Algorithm is on constantly evolving, making competition more and more harder than it used to be before. Achieving backlinks has been a primary focus of webmasters or SEO firms.

  • What Google guidelines about Backlinks?

Backlinks enable you to keep track of other pages on the web that link to your posts. For instance, suppose Alice writes a blog entry that Bob finds interesting. Bob then goes to his own blog and writes a post of his own about it, linking back to Alice’s original post. Now Alice’s post will automatically show that Bob has linked to it, and it will provide a short snippet of his text and a link to his post. What it all works out to is a way of expanding the comment feature such that related discussions on other sites can be included along with the regular comments on a post.

Backlinks are normally presumed to be two way links, A->links->B and in turn B->Links->A, this philosophy used to quite work before as I link to you and you link to me making backlinks a lot stronger and grabbing much much higher rankings in Google.

If you search usually in Google “How to rank number 1 in Google”, you will often come across infinite Website and blogs showing the methods to get ranked number 1 in Google. All they say is get maximum number of backlinks or incoming links from other websites and this will get your website and blogs rankings to number one position in Google search results.

  • If back links are true then how much back links do you need??

An often asked and sought out question in SEO world and many forums. The answers which most of the SEO consultants and other webmaster give is UNLIMITED??? Will this really increase your search rankings??

Let me say that your website has acquired around 1000000 backlinks and your competitor has acquired around 3 backlinks and still if still he is ranking many many times ahead of you, then what did you achieve by having 1000000 backlinks?? So lets just say having backlinks will only show how many people have your content with them.

Recent Google updates show that Google has changed their search engine ranking metrics a lot. I am still not much convinced of having backlinks yet!!

Once upon a time people used to rush with enormous backlinks using Black hat techniques, Grey Hat techniques and what not, link bombs, link spamming were enormously used to manipulate search rankings and grab the higher ranks in Google. Today even if you have 3 Million Backlinks will still lead you no where.

  • So if having 3 Million Backlinks does not work, then what does??

An obvious question that pops in here about Backlinks quantity. You may have UNLIMITED Back links but what is the Quality of those Backlinks??

Having Quality and relevant back links matters these days and not how many back links, There are millions of links providers online. just doing search you can see Millions of results, but majority of them provide worthless back links. These back links gets your websites penalized by search engines like Google and gets your website removed from them. There on no body will be able to see your website around the world.

So Quality Backlinks Matter and not Quantity Backlinks.

  • So How do I obtain backlinks??

You can obtain backlinks easily without any problems at all. Backlinks in SEO are at webmasters disposal without making any investments at all.

First is your own Website.

  • So, How do you get Backlinks from your own Website or Blog??

Every website or blog has lot of traffic secreted in to main page or index page, and connecting main links from main page passes majority of the link juice to your other pages of the website.

Interlinking other pages with relevant anchor text also helps the pages or posts within any website get free backlinks and brings any website rank higher in Google. See this article for example, how I have interlinked.

Interlinking any pages within the website is  one of factor for Google ranking.

SEO Siloing, Interlinking Webpages

SEO Siloing, Interlinking Webpages

Secondly, Backlinks from other Websites.

Incoming backlinks.

Incoming backlinks.

Let me say that If my article is liked by you, then you are going to write a post about it mentioning the link back to this post or this website, this is called incoming link wherein this post or article gets 1 link back or back link from your article.

On the other hand, outgoing links makes no sense, though this is also one of the factors from ranking in Google.

Its is just, you link to other website and the link juice passes from your website to them making your website lobbie by giving them incoming link and helping them rank.

Backlinks are no longer considered as a priority today as majority of the links are mostly spammed and purchased in order to rank, though Google considers it as a minority in order to discover your website only.

Having relevant backlinks with proper anchor texts from relevant website helps your website rank better in Google or Search engines.

If you planning to hire a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) consultant or SEO Firm, do check whether they are going to use any hidden techniques for providing back links or generate links. Having something hidden may help your website to rank for specific keyword or webpage for sometime but in due course of time and Search Engine algorithm updates your website will surely get penalized and lose lot of rankings.

Lets see a video on “How Google considers Backlinks”

In the Video Matt Cutts

  • So How does Backlinks Work?

Video : How does Backlinks work Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO Backlinks mistakes to avoid:

Backlinks will it lose its importance in ranking:

Today Backlinks do matter a lot, however having backlinks will hurt you than help if used wrongly.

Lets just say your website is pretty new, and you have around 7000 backlinks already pointing towards your website, So when Google indexes your website it will not just index your website but also in the course of time follows the links around the web related to your website. In this case a pretty new website having around 7000 backlinks or link backs will surely trigger suspicion within Google and may adversely affect your website instead of helping it.

I keep on hearing building Backlinks slowly over a period of time help website gain better presence on the web and backlink helps in Google rankings, this is a myth, as Google and other Web Spiders are much sophisticated to find out where and how your website or blog is getting web links.

Lets see a video on “How Search works”:

As you see Google Web Spam Team Head, Matt Cutts explains how Google Search Works, you may now pretty well understand how much value does a Back Link have to website.

  • How BackLink is valued?

Let me say, you have 3000 backlinks coming from various sources or websites, Google and other Search Engines when they crawl the web, they will follow the links from other website or blogs and value each link, their weight age that the backlink or a link back carries with it. If a back link is coming from an inappropriate source or a website, a low level website, content scrapping website, or a Google penalized website. Then such a backlink is given a very low value or low metric.

On the other hand, getting back links from appropriate website, gets much better metrics in the eyes of search engines like Google.

For example:

A<—-Gets Backlinks<—–B and B<—-Gets Backlinks<—–C and C is inappropriate source and irrelevant website.

Here Google puts the links metrics as quite low.

A<—-Gets backlinks<—-B<—-Gets Backlinks (10000 irrelevant and inappropriate)<—-C (Penalized Website)

Here, B is having all the backlinks which are irrelevant and inappropriate, the case being all the links which A is getting is of no value at all, it is just that A is happy of having 10000 backlinks!!!

A<—-Gets Backlinks<—–B<—-Gets Backlinks<—-C (Good and appropriate Source)

Here, A will rank much higher as all the links coming from B is quite good and B has legible and appropriate links backed from C.

In Conclusion:  It does not matter how much and how you are going to build the backlinks, it all matters how much worth the backlinks are. Backlinks today may be of a very little known value and their worthiness is literally nothing as backlinks just show a search engine spider how your content is linked in the web.

According to Gala Lab, Flyff Online is a PC title and converting into Flyff All Stars was the essential attention during game style and design. 1 design detail is the usage of portrait format to allow for simple control during game play. Continuing to keep the RPG aspect alive was the adequate key factor.

Gala Lab also explained in relation to the pains of initiating Flyff All Stars MMO game. As RPG is amongst the most complex game genres to develop, squeezing the client game experience into a small mobile device was a very challenging experience for everyone in the studio. Ragnarok Online MMORPG

OK, without wasting much time, lets get on to the business of setting up Ragnarok Online MMO private server.

So we will going through Steps, OK???

This guides target users:
eAthena: svn 48xx and up

What this guide will include:

A: Pre-installation things to do and other info
1. Differences between a SQL Server and a TXT Server
2. Download eAthena
3. Download MySQL
4. Download MySQL Admin
5. Download MySQL Query Browser
6. Getting all the information you will need

2. Changing the Ragnarok Database to another name
3. Make fields accept larger numbers
I: Trouble Shooting
J: Guide Version

A. Pre-installation things to do

1. The Differences between a SQL Server and a TXT Server:

So, you wanna know what the difference is? Well there really isnt too much different from a txt server and a SQL server. The main difference is that SQL makes it easier to edit. MySQL also only uses only the account and guild aspects, in other words, it only deals with guilds, login names and passwords, characters, and ip bans. This also means that you will make your GM’s through MySQL Query Browser. See the level column in there, well you put your gm’s level in there. Also, but im not sure how to make eathna do it, your athena server can read the mob and item data base from SQL, please don’t send me any pms asking how to, cuz i really dont know lol. And that’s where the differences stop I am afraid, except for the ease of backing up your databases. (see Section I for more SQL customizations).

2. Download eAthena

Where to download eAthena SQL:
You may locate the newest versions of eAthena in here:
http://svn.games-service.net/
You will also need to download the .dll files (can be located on the same page as the svn download).

3. Download MySQL
4. Download MySQL Administrator
5. Download MySQL Query Browser

Now, in these next screen shots, anywhere that is circled is where you can click to take you to the next area which is displayed in the next screen shot.

First go to mysql.com then follow these:

MySQL Client for Ragnarok Online

MySQL Client for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Database Client for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Database Client for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Community Edition for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Community Edition for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Community Edition for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Community Edition for Ragnarok Online Private Server

See the other stuff I have circled? Well you will need to download those also

MySQL Community Edition download for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Community Edition download for Ragnarok Online Private Server

Ok, make sure that you download these 3 programs into a folder for easy finding (the MySQL setup is called Setup…pretty vague huh?)

now, go back a few pages to where i had the query browser, and admin circled and download those.

6. Getting all the information that you will need

Now, open your web browser of choice (fire fox for me lol) and type whatsmyip.net in the address bar. You should get a page that looks like this:

IP Search for Ragnarok Onlne Private Server

IP Search for Ragnarok Onlne Private Server

now, where ever I have circled lists your Wan IP, write that down somewhere, you will need it later.

OK, now open your start menu and click on run and type in cmd (type in command if your using windows 98) and the command line interface (CLI) should come up. If it doesn't, see Section H for troubleshooting. Now, in the CLI type ipconfig/all. something looking like this should appear:

Ipconfig for Ragnarok Online Private Server

IP config for Ragnarok Online Private Server

again, in the places I have circled, write down those address’ and be sure to lable what they all are.

B. Setting up eAthena

1. What files you will need to locate for editing

Now, once you have eAthena on your computer, and all the proper information you will need to go into the folder named conf and locate and open these txt files:
char_athena
login_athena (optional) (if your using version 48xx (i think) or higher then you wont need to open this)
map_athena
lan_support

change anything that’s in bold

2. Editing char_athena

Ok, now bring char_athena to the front.
before we continue, please make these corrections in your own txt file, do not copy paste.

// Athena Character configuration file.

// Server Communication username and password.
userid: s1 change this to ragnarok
passwd: p1 change this to ragnarok

// Server name, use alternative character such as ASCII 160 for spaces.
server_name: eAthena change to your server name

// Wisp name for server: used to send wisp from server to players (between 4 to 23 characters)
wisp_server_name: Server

// Login Server IP
// The character server connects to the login server using this IP address.
// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on
// a machine with multiple interfaces.
login_ip: Lan IP

// The character server listens on the interface with this IP address.
// NOTE: This allows you to run multiple servers on multiple interfaces
// while using the same ports for each server.
//bind_ip: 127.0.0.1

// Login Server Port
login_port: 6900

// Character Server IP
// The character server exports this IP address to the entire world.
// NOTE: You should only need to set this if you are running behind a
// firewall or are on a machine with multiple interfaces.
char_ip: Wan IP or No-ip (see end of guide for information on getting a no-ip account)

// Character Server Port
char_port: 6121

and save then close

3. Editing login_athena

Bring your login_athena to the front now:

// Athena Login Server configuration file.
// Translated by Peter Kieser <pfak@telus.net>

login_ip: Wan IP or No-ip

// The login server listens on the interface with this IP address.
// NOTE: This allows you to run multiple servers on multiple interfaces
// while using the same ports for each server.
//bind_ip: 127.0.0.1

// Login Server Port
login_port: 6900

again, save and close

4. Editing map_athena

Bring map_athena to the front:

//————————————————————–
// Configuration Info
//————————————————————–
// Interserver communication passwords, set in account.txt (or equiv.)
userid: s1 change to ragnarok
passwd: p1 change to ragnarok

// Character Server IP
// The map server connects to the character server using this IP address.
// NOTE: This is useful when you are running behind a firewall or are on
// a machine with multiple interfaces.
char_ip: Lan IP

// The map server listens on the interface with this IP address.
// NOTE: This allows you to run multiple servers on multiple interfaces
// while using the same ports for each server.
//bind_ip: 127.0.0.1

// Character Server Port
char_port: 6121

// Map Server IP
// The map server exports this IP address to the entire world.
// NOTE: You should only need to set this if you are running behind a
// firewall or are on a machine with multiple interfaces.
map_ip: Wan IP or No-ip

// Map Server Port
map_port: 5121

save and close

5. Editing Subnet_Athena

Now, last is Subnet_Athena:

// Subnet support file
// Format is:
// subnet: subnet-subnet mask:char_ip:map_ip
// you can add more than one that line

subnet: put the address you have written down as your Default Gateway: here-put what you have written down as your Subnet Mask: here:Lan IP:Lan IP

save and close

6. Editing the Sclientinfo.xml

Now, download this (it goes into your grf or data folder) http://download.hyperfileshare.com/d…?code=aa0675e9

once you have it downloaded refer to this to set it up:

right click on it and select edit from that menu then again change anything that's in bold

<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”euc-kr” ?>

<clientinfo>

<desc>Ragnarok Client Information – Taiwan Version</desc>

<servicetype>korea</servicetype>
<servertype>sakray</servertype>

<connection>
<display>put the name of your server here</display>
<desc></desc>
<address>*~!~see note 1~!~*</address>
<port>6900</port>
<version>20</version>
<langtype>07</langtype>
<registrationweb>Athena</registrationweb>
<aid>
<admin>you can put the account Id’s of your GMs here<admin>
</aid>
</connection>
</clientinfo>

Note 1: In the one that you are using put your Lan IP but in the one you give to your other players put your Wan IP or No-ip here.

so we had just finished up getting the conf files set up and are now moving on to setting up Mysql and its assistant progs.

C: Setting up MySQL

then on root. (note 4) Now, put ragnarok in those circled boxes and click on apply changes , then click on new user and type ragnarok in all three boxes and then apply changes and your done for this moment with MySQL Admin.

F: Setting up MySQL Query Browser for Ragnarok Online MMORPG Private Server

This is slightly harder. Just so you know, if you receive any errors ignore them; they are to be expected lol. So now, run Query browser and this time in the password field you will need to put ragnarok. Hit enter then follow these:

MySQL Query Browser Setup for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Query Browser Setup for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Schema for Ragnarok Onlinew Private Server

MySQL Schema for Ragnarok Online Private Server

right click in the upper right section and select create new schema from that list

then repeat steps 1-2 but call this second one “log”

MySQL Schema for Ragnarok Online Private Server

now, make sure you have “ragnarok” selected, then click on file, open script, then browse to your sql-files folder. In there you will see a bunch of files. For now, just open main. now, again, make sure that ragnarok is selected, then press the green execute button at the top right hand side of your screen.

Now that you have done this open the ragnarok schema and locate the login table. double click this to open it. So we now only have one account in the login table which we need to now edit. What you see in this next screen should be what you have in that first account:

This will allow an account for your servers to connect to. Now click on the apply changes button and exit Query Browser.

We have one more thing to do before we move on to the next section though. Reopen MySQL Admin and put in ragnarok for the password. Now, again click on user administration, and then on ragnarok. Now, follow these screens:

MySQL Query Browser for Ragnarok Online Private Server

2. Diffing a Client

You can find the latest diff here:
http://www.eathena.ws/board/index.php?showtopic=76841

Once you download what you need, run Diff.exe. When the window opens, in the top box, you will put the file with the .diff extension, and in the second will go the Sakexe. then click the next (or diff button) and you will see a list. Should be self explanatory from there, you can ctrl + click on any options that you want then add then using the > arrow, also, if your are running an online server, you will need to use the option ‘DNS Support’. Once you are done selecting options, click ‘make patch’ and your done. make sure you give this to all of your places as well.

3. Getting GRF Factory

You may download GRF factory from here: http://ratemyserver.net/index.php?page=download_tool

4. Getting a Data Folder

This part is kinda easy. If you have Kro and Sakrasy installed (which you will need to) open Grf Factory, click on open and browse to your RO folder, find your sdata.grf and open it. Once its done loading into GRF Factory do the same for the data.grf, now once thats done loading click on extract all. This will make you a data folder. Now, once its done, You can either edit the sclient info that’s in there, or you can just replace it with the one you already set up. Next, install the Translation pack (this can be found here http://www.eathena.ws/board/index.php?showtopic=65431) then Google for gryff_s, download the full program, and run it, select to add a folder, browse to the data folder you created and click on save to turn it into a grf. You will have to make 2 one, for you and any players on you LAN, and one for your WAN players.

H: MySQL Customizations and Modifications for Ragnarok Online MMORPG Private Server

So, I decided to add this in for a little more information about MySql and how you can customize it.

1: Enabling Mob Databases, Item Databases, and Mail Database

All of these can be set in Inter_Athena.conf

//Use SQL item_db and mob_db for the map server
use_sql_db: no

// Use SQL Mail Server
mail_server_enable: no

these options are set to no by default. Just change them to yes then restart your map server. You will need to update the mob and item db tables as needed for new items and monsters.

2: Changing the Ragnarok Database to another name

Look into your inter_athena.conf once again and find this section:

// MySQL Login SQL Server
login_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
login_server_port: 3306
login_server_id: ragnarok
login_server_pw: ragnarok
login_server_db: ragnarok

// MySQL Character SQL server
char_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
char_server_port: 3306
char_server_id: ragnarok
char_server_pw: ragnarok
char_server_db: ragnarok

// MySQL Map SQL Server
map_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
map_server_port: 3306
map_server_id: ragnarok
map_server_pw: ragnarok
map_server_db: ragnarok

// MySQL Log SQL Database
log_db_ip: 127.0.0.1
log_db_port: 3306
log_db_id: ragnarok
log_db_pw: ragnarok
log_db: ragnarok

// MySQL Mail SQL Server
mail_server_ip: 127.0.0.1
mail_server_port: 3306
mail_server_id: ragnarok
mail_server_pw: ragnarok
mail_server_db: ragnarok

All you need to do is change the last lines (lines colored blue) in all of these to a new name. Make sure that your database in MySql is named exactly the same, or it wont read it.

Also, if your MySql databases are on a different computer then your server, you can change *****_server_ip: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (colored green) to the server computer’s address (Wan Address if it isnt on your Local Area Network; Lan address if it is.)

3: Making fields accept larger numbers

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

So, you want to have a monster be level 200 but MySQL wont let you use that number. This is because who ever made the Sql tables for Eathena thought that 200 was over-sufficient. So, I will tell you how to rectify this error. Go to the table you want to change something in, right click it, then click on edit table and you should see a window like this:

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

now, the circled column here is for your Column names:

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

this one determines how large a number or what type of data can be placed in the cells corresponding with the column:

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

so now, we want to increase the largeness(?) of the number for the level column in Mob_db. So right click it and click on edit table. Find this row:

and change it to this then click accept changes:

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

MySQL Table Editor for Ragnarok Online Private Server

now you should be able to place the number 200 into the level cells.

I: Troubleshooting

So, you have a problem do you, well refer to this section for help:

Q: My command line interface wont open when i type cmd/command into the run box, what do I do?

A: Reinstall, or repair, your copy of windows. Your missing some .dll files and system files also probably.

Q: When I go to configure the MySQL service it gives me an error when I click on execute. In the explanation it says error: 0. What's up with this?

A: This means that you have a service (remember that drop down menu?) already running by that name. There are 2 ways to fix this.

1. Click back, and select a new service name from the drop down list

OR

2. Press start, click run, type cmd in, then type this:

sc delete MySQL (or type any of these after the MySQL part: 4, 41,5,501,51)

Now rerun the MySQL Instance Config Wizard and try again.

Q: When I got to configure the MySQL service it gives me an error when I click on execute. In the explanation it says a error number other then 0. What's up with this?

A: This means that you need to uninstall MySQL 5 (also uninstall any older versions of MYSQL (including non-install version)), restart your computer then reinstall MySQL 5 and it should work.

Q: When I go to access MySQL Admin I get an error that's has the number 2003 in the error explanation. How do I fix this?

A: This means that MySQL Admin can not access your MySQL service, which means you will either have to reinstall or make sure that MySQL its running. (To find out, press ctrl + alt + delete to open the windows task manager, click the possesses tab and look for mysqld-nt. If it's not listed then right click on start, then click on explore. Browse to your mysql folder, open the MySQL 5 folder, then open the bin folder and find mysqld-nt and run it then try to access MySQL admin again).

Also, make sure that if you have a firewall on your comp, on or not, to make the mysqld-nt, char server, login server, map-server, and run-server sql are all allowed programs.

Q: I am getting a message in red in my Char Server that says that the inter-server passwords arent working, what do I do?

A: This means that you either didn’t set the password in char_athena and map_athena, didn’t do it correctly, or have not set up an account for your server.

Q: I am getting a message in purple in my Map Server that says that the Sql Database could not be connected to.

A: This also means that you do not have an account setup for your Server in your MySql Query Browser login Table.

If you get any other errors then these, please Pm me or contact me on my msn or through my email

Also, if you are getting a “Can not connect to Localhost” message, and you have Zone alarm installed, turn on zone alarm and click on approve to let the progs be used.

All credits to Geowil, And if you get an error in the eathena you may have to register.

Top 8 options to grab SEO leads for your SEO oriented Business

Posted: 15 Dec 2014 08:01 AM PST

In just top 8 ways you can grab Search Engine Optimization (SEO)  leads for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) business.

Today in this Topsy turfy world where nothing is constant and majority of options are online oriented. Having business is one option though grabbing leads is another than making it successful.

If we all accept the fact that we cannot leave without internet and every one wants an online presence then this is also true that there are business that we have to be dependent on.. Yes I am taking and writing about SEO in other way called as Search Engine Optimization.

If you have landed here for the purpose of learning SEO tricks and SEO tips for grabbing SEO Leads for your SEO business, then YES, YOU ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

Without wasting much time lets just dive in :<

SEO is one of the most difficult industries to acquire leads for because SEO providers typically have mastery over most conventional lead generation methods. Everyone is competing for the same first page SEO – Search Engine rankings, PPC positions, and Social Media ad spots. These professional SEO providers, however, have been able to separate themselves from their competitors with their innovative lead generation methods:

1. Trade value for contact Info (eBooks)

"Our single best method of generating leads," said Sharukh, "is finding creative ways to offer free useful content in exchange for contact information. The idea is to create something the intended audience would find valuable. For example, we offer a full inbound marketing eBook that covers just about everything you need to know about inbound marketing. Most of our clients would be interested in this, but to download it, we simply ask that you fill in your name email and phone number." –  Hmm simple huh – I suppose at Gameforumer

2. Connect through Linkedin

“I worked for a large marketing agency in central London," said Michael Moriarty, Director of Sales and Marketing at Go Fish Digital, "and every day I walked passed the non-profit 'Save the Children'. Finally, I looked up their head of online marketing and sent her a message through LinkedIn saying that I keep walking by their office each day and know that we could help them with their SEO –  Search Engine Optimization and would love to be able to see inside their building!

I’ve since done this with other companies while working at Go Fish Digital in the Washington, DC area.”

3. Network through local referral groups

"I find that local referral groups such as BNI & theChamber of Commerce," said Brandon Howard, Owner of All My Web Needs, "have been successful ways of bringing in new clients for SEO. Having those 1-to-1 relationships with individuals in those groups allows us to better explain what SEO is and why it is beneficial. Ideally we would then provide some of those members with SEO services. Furthermore, when that client / group member is happy with your service they will continue to send you referrals on a regular basis (since that’s the whole point of the group to begin with)."

4. Lead Generation through Groupon

"Some of the challenges with identifying a strong SEO lead," said John Clark, founder of Fuze SEO, Inc., "is knowing the business is truly invested in growing their business through marketing and actually willing to put money behind it. I have found success focusing on businesses who are currently buying Adwords or offering local deals on Groupon.

There is a Groupon API to get all deals for a location – immediately identifying local leads. There is a manual process to retrieve the contact info, however, tools like Buzzstream or Rapportive help tremendously with this process."

5. Demonstrate your authority through helpful infographics

"Infographics bring traffic like clockwork," said Jordhy Ledesma, founder and Online Producer at Information Providers. "A solid infographic distribution strategy includes placing your art in free infographic sites and getting links from bloggers that want to use your content in various formats.

First, prepare a list of key bloggers in your industry to share your content with. By the way, having a list of key go-to bloggers is as crucial as having a dependable mail list, these can be industry bloggers as well as casual bloggers with a significant audience, focus on relevance but don’t limit yourself, exposure is also key. After you have compiled a list of bloggers and distribution sites we are ready to move on.

Second, split the infographic into slides and craft a presentation out of the same content, posting it to a couple of document sharing sites (maybe Slideshare.net and Scribd for example). Use your targeted keywords and links when uploading the presentation. Finally, promote your info-graphic and presentation with links to your website by sharing it in free infographic distribution sites. Google 'free infographics' and submit your creation to the top 10 distribution sites, that is all you need.

P.S. – Don't forget to include a link to your site and relevant keywords with each submission."

6. Sponsor local events

"A creative way I generate qualified leads," said Matt Watson of Adjunct SEM, "is via sponsorship of events geared toward the parents of middle and high school activities such as sports and academic endeavors.

One recent example was being a sponsor of a best ball golf tournament geared toward fundraising. I handed out business cards and developed a landing page with a strong call to action specifically targeting small to medium business owners whose children were either a part of the school or they were participating in the golf tournament to show support for someone’s child. The qualification of the lead occurred within the copy on the landing page.

The money and time invested were quickly returned along with numerous other referrals from satisfied new clients."

7. Market through Yellow Pages directories

"One of the most creative ways to generate leads for my online marketing company," said Christal Mckinney-DeLoach of The Media Hog, "is through the Yellow Pages directories. The reason is because these businesses believe in advertising. It is also a good resource because these advertisers are some of the slowest to switch over to digital advertising/marketing.

I love using this method because many other SEO – Search Engine Optimization companies are too busy scraping other online sources for leads."

8. Connect with web designers and developers

"When I first started my agency," said Brian Dean of Backlinko, "I had no connections and no clients. But, I knew what I was doing. So I reached out to web designers and told them I’d give them a cut of my monthly retainer as a finder’s fee. It was a total win-win-win. The designer made a recurring monthly commission, the client got routed to someone that actually knew SEO, and I got clients handed to me on a silver platter."

Posted: 12 Dec 2014 05:15 AM PST

Cheap Web Hosting

If you have landed to this page, that means you were looking for cheap web hosting. OK then what is Cheap Web Hosting by the way?? Lets dip in ourselves before you even proceed ahead and opt in for a cheap web hosting packages.

So lets dive in without wasting our time…

Cheap Web Hosting
Cheap Web Hosting

While you are searching for a Web hosting plan it can be smart to just search at the prices. When you have decided on a price range which is like free hosting you still might have more than a few dozen hosting providers to choose from. So, once you’ve confirmed to choose cheap web hosting (like free web hosting that costs less than $1 per month) you should even look for several things which are summarized below.

Hosting Account Setup:

After you place an order of web hosting you should get hosting account instantly or it should not be delayed more than 12 hours and the another thing there is very little effort required in creating a new hosting service so it should be free. But you can see so many web hosts charge you money as a setup fee that's just silly.

Web Space and Bandwidth

As you might aware web resources are always limited like there is fixed amount and quantity of hard drive, ram, CPU in the web server and looking for unlimited package is just a impractical idea. Ftp or upload complete personal website data to your hosting space you require only 20mb web space to 100mb web space maximum so why looking for unlimited features? Most of cheap unlimited web hosting providers have data server outage issue repeatedly so selecting unlimited web hosting in cheap price can cease your expensive website data.

Refund policy to evaluate the service

Not only cheap web hosting company, nearly all hosting service provider include refund policy in their hosting plan but do not include at least 30 days money back guarantee. You are locked into a year or several year contract. Therefore a 30-day or more money-back guarantee policy is helpful.

Technical support for customers

There is already big giant in web hosting, cheap web hosting and free web hosting industry which have very professional sales team for the clients and they use all mode of support system for the new clients via phone, live chat, ticket, email, VoIP but when it is the time to raise a technical issue concerned to your hosting account that time there would be the problem and so many of your hosting issue wont be resolved by their technical customer support. So besides searching for cheap hosting price you should also look for skilled and good customer support system for tech.

Control Panel and Hosting Features Various control panel for web disk are available and many are worst and few are excellent and easy to manage. Mostly client had issue with windows panel like plex and cPanel is very familiar. Many hosts provide multiple domains hosting in a single hosting account which is cheap and easy to handle but when you require is to transfer or migrate your hosting account from old hosting to new hosting in that time probably there would be the problem. In your hosting you should look for database, ftp, php, phpMyadmin, MySQL, application installer, virus scanner, email accounts, sub domain, folder locker, url forwarding, backup, seo tool etc at free of cost without upgrades.

Come across Cheap Price Web Hosting Plan

Common way used by many cheap website hosting providers you’ll see cheap hosting is as a package deal over several months or years. In other words, they cost $1 per month when you buy 36 months of service. Otherwise they cost $10 per month. If you’re not prepared to hand over a large amount of cash all at once, be sure you know what the monthly cost is when paid monthly. Another way you can find cheap web hosting price only for first month or for first two or three months later than hosting monthly cost will be higher. So you should also look for cheap or free hosting price as a regular price to pay in monthly or annually.
Always Read the Terms and Conditions You are agreed with terms and conditions before you start hosting with them so make sure you read all the terms, refund policy, money laundering policy, resource abuse policy, privacy policy etc.
If you are searching for excellent tech support, cheap and reliable web hosting provider for your best need it will never be easier for you. Because there are more than million of hosting providers to select and appraise them.

Lebron James – Dive In – Information You Need – Gameforumer

All the information you need about Lebron James

LeBron Raymone James is an American professional basketball player with the Cleveland Cavaliers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Standing at 6 ft 8 in (2.03 m) and weighing 250 lb (113 kg), he has started at the small forward and power forward positions. James has won two NBA championships, four NBA Most Valuable Player Awards, two

NBA Finals MVP Awards, two Olympic gold medals, an NBA scoring title, and the NBA Rookie of the Year Award. He has also been selected to 10 NBA All-Star teams, 10 All-NBA teams, and six All-Defensive teams, and is the Cavaliers’ all-time leading scorer.

Lebron James played high school basketball at St. Vincent–St. Mary High School in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, where he was highly promoted in the national media as a future NBA superstar. After graduating, he was selected with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft by the Cavaliers. James led Cleveland to the franchise’s first Finals appearance in 2007, losing to the San Antonio Spurs. In 2010, he left the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat in a highly publicized ESPN special titled “The Decision”. In his first season in Miami, the Heat reached the Finals but lost to the Dallas Mavericks. James won his first championship in 2012 when Miami defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 2013, he led the Heat on a 27-game winning streak, the second longest in league history. Miami also won its second consecutive title that year. In 2014, the Heat reached the Finals for the fourth consecutive year, eventually losing to the Spurs. Following Miami’s defeat, James opted out of his contract with the Heat and rejoined the Cavaliers.

Off the court, James has accumulated considerable wealth and fame as a result of numerous endorsement deals. His public life has been the subject of much scrutiny and he has been ranked as one of America’s most influential and popular athletes. He has been featured in books, documentaries, and television commercials, and hosted the ESPY Awards and Saturday Night Live.

Early life of Lebron James

James was born on December 30, 1984 in Akron, Ohio to a 16-year-old mother, Gloria Marie James, who raised him on her own.:22 Growing up, life was often a struggle for the James family, as they moved from apartment to apartment in the seedier neighborhoods of Akron while James’ mother struggled to find steady work. Realizing he would be better off with a more stable family environment, Gloria allowed James to move in with the family of Frank Walker, a local youth football coach, who introduced him to basketball when he was nine years old.:23

As a youth, James played Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball for the Northeast Ohio Shooting Stars. The team enjoyed success on a local and national level, led by James and his friends Sian Cotton, Dru Joyce III, and Willie McGee.:24 Inseparable, they dubbed themselves the “Fab Four” and promised each other they would attend high school together.:27 In a move that stirred local controversy, they chose to attend St. Vincent–St. Mary High School, a largely white private school.

High school career of Lebron Hames

Basketball

In his freshman year, James averaged 21 points and 6 rebounds per game for St. Vincent-St. Mary’s varsity team. The Fighting Irish finished the year 27–0, winning the Division III state title. In his sophomore year, James averaged 25.2 points and 7.2 rebounds per game with 5.8 assists and 3.8 steals per game. For some home games during the season, St. Vincent-St. Mary played at the University of Akron’s 5,492-seat Rhodes Arena to satisfy ticket demand from alumni, fans, and college and NBA scouts who wanted to see James play.:51 The Fighting Irish finished the season 26–1 and repeated as state champions. For his outstanding play, James was named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball and was selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team, becoming the first sophomore to do either.

Prior to the start of James’ junior year, he appeared in SLAM Magazine and was lauded as possibly “the best high school basketball player in America right now” by writer Ryan Jones. During the season, he appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated, becoming the first underclass high school basketball player to do so.:104 With averages of 29 points, 8.3 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 3.3 steals per game, he was again named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball and selected to the USA Today All-USA First Team, and became the first junior to win the boys’ basketball Gatorade National Player of the Year Award.:117 St. Vincent-St. Mary finished the year with a 23–4 record, ending their season with a loss in the Division II championship game.:114 Following the loss, James seriously considered declaring for the 2002 NBA draft, unsuccessfully petitioning for an adjustment to the NBA’s draft eligibility rules which required prospective players to have at least graduated from high school. During this time, James used marijuana to help cope with stress resulting from the constant media attention he was receiving.

In his senior year, James and the Fighting Irish traveled around the country to play a number of nationally ranked teams, including a game against Oak Hill Academy that was nationally televised on ESPN2.[:142Time Warner Cable, looking to capitalize on James’ popularity, offered St. Vincent-St. Mary’s games to subscribers on a pay-per-view basis throughout the season.:143 For the year, James averaged 31.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.6 assists, and 3.4 steals per game, was named Ohio’s Mr. Basketball and USA Today All-USA First Team for an unprecedented third consecutive year,:178and was named Gatorade National Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. He participated in three year-end high school basketball all-star games—the EA Sports Roundball Classic, the Jordan Capital Classic, and the 2003 McDonald’s All-American Game—, losing his NCAA eligibility and making it official he would enter the 2003 NBA draft. According to Ryan Jones, James left high school as “the most hyped basketball player ever”.:142

During his senior year, James was the centerpiece of several controversies. For his 18th birthday, he accepted a Hummer H2 from his mother, who secured a loan for the vehicle utilizing LeBron’s future earning power as a professional athlete. This prompted an investigation by the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) as its guidelines state that no amateur may accept any gift valued over $100 as a reward for athletic performance. Later in the season, James accepted two throwback jerseys worth $845 from an urban clothing store in exchange for posing for pictures, officially violating OHSAA rules and resulting in him stripped of his high school sports eligibility. James appealed the ruling and his penalty was eventually dropped to a two-game suspension, allowing him to play the remainder of the year. The Irish were also forced to forfeit one of their wins, their only official loss that season. In his first game back after the suspension, James scored a career-high 52 points.

Football

James played wide receiver for St. Vincent-St. Mary’s football team in high school.:51 As a sophomore, he was named first team all-state, and as a junior, he led the Fighting Irish to the state semifinals. His football career came to an end before his senior year when he broke his wrist during an AAU basketball game. Many sports analysts, football critics, high school coaches, and former and current players have speculated on whether he could have played in the National Football League.:91

Professional career of Lebron James

Cleveland Cavaliers (2003–10)
Rookie season (2003–04)

James was selected by the Cleveland Cavaliers with the first overall pick in the 2003 NBA draft. In his first professional game, he recorded 25 points against the Sacramento Kings, setting an NBA record for most points scored by a prep-to-pro player in his debut outing. In a late season match-up with the New Jersey Nets, he scored a season-high 41 points, becoming the youngest player in league history to score at least 40 points in a game at 19 years. He was eventually named the Rookie of the Year, finishing with averages of 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game. He became the first Cavalier to receive the honor and joined Oscar Robertson and Michael Jordan as the only players in NBA history to average at least 20 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists per game in their rookie year (Tyreke Evans has since joined this group). The Cavaliers finished the season 35–47, failing to make the playoffs despite an 18-game improvement over the previous year.
Rise to superstardom (2004–08)

James recorded his first career triple-double on January 19 of the 2004–05 season, becoming the youngest player in league history to record a triple-double at 20 years. His play earned him his first All-Star Game selection, where he added 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists in a winning effort for the Eastern Conference. On March 20, he scored 56 points against the Toronto Raptors, setting Cleveland’s new single game points record. With averages of 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game to finish the season, he became the youngest player in NBA history to be named to an All-NBA Team. Despite a 30–20 record to start the year, Cleveland again failed to make the playoffs, finishing the season at 42–40.

At the 2006 All-Star Game, James led the East to victory with a 29 point and 6 rebound performance, becoming the youngest ever winner of the All-Star Game MVP Award at 21 years, 51 days. For the season, he averaged 31.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game, becoming the youngest player in league history to average at least 30 points per game. He was considered a strong candidate for the Most Valuable Player Award but eventually finished second in the voting to Steve Nash; however, he was awarded co-MVP honors with Nash by The Sporting News. Under James’ leadership, the Cavaliers qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 1998. In his playoff debut, he recorded a triple-double in a winning effort versus the Washington Wizards. In Game 3 of the series, he made the first game-winning shot of his career, making another in Game 5. Cleveland would go on to defeat the Wizards before being ousted by the defending Eastern Conference champion Detroit Pistons in the second round.

After the 2006 Playoffs, James and the Cavaliers negotiated a three-year, $60 million contract extension with a player option for a fourth year. Although it was for fewer years and less money than the maximum he could sign, it allotted him the option of seeking a new contract worth more money as an unrestricted free agent following the 2009-10 season. He discussed this decision with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, fellow members of his 2003 draft class, who also re-signed with their respective teams while allowing them to be unrestricted agents in 2010.

Early in the 2006–07 season, James was criticized for a regression in his passing skills and shot selection, stemming from a lack of effort and focus. His play rebounded after the All-Star break and he ended the year with averages of 27.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. The Cavaliers finished the season with 50 wins for the second consecutive year and entered the playoffs as the East’s second seed. In Game 5 of the Conference Finals, James notched 48 points with 9 rebounds and 7 assists, and scored 29 of Cleveland’s last 30 points including the game-winning lay-up with two seconds left against the Pistons. After the game, play-by-play announcer Marv Albert called the performance “one of the greatest moments in postseason history” and color commentator Steve Kerr called it “Jordan-esque.” In 2012, ESPN ranked the performance the fourth greatest in modern NBA playoff history. The Cavaliers won the series to advance to the Finals versus the San Antonio Spurs, losing in four games. For the postseason, James averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8 assists per game, although his Finals averages dropped to 22.0 points, 7 rebounds, and 6.8 assists per game.

Midway through the 2007–08 season, James was named All-Star Game MVP for the second time behind a 27 point, 8 rebound, and 9 assist performance. On March 21, he moved past Brad Daugherty as the Cavaliers’ all-time leading scorer in a game against the Raptors, doing so in over 100 less games than Daugherty. With seven triple-doubles to finish the year, James set a new personal and team record for triple-doubles in a season. His 30 points per game were also the highest in the league, representing his first scoring title. Despite his individual accomplishments, Cleveland’s record fell from the year before to 45–37. Seeded fourth in the East entering the playoffs, the Cavaliers defeated the Wizards in the first round for the third consecutive season before being eliminated in seven games by the Boston Celtics in the next round. During the decisive seventh game in Boston, James scored 45 points and Paul Pierce scored 41 in a game the Associated Press described as a “shootout”.

First MVP tenure (2008–10)

At the conclusion of the 2008–09 season, James finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting and made his first All-Defensive Team with 23 chase-down blocks and a career-high 93 total blocks. He also became only the fourth postmerger player to lead his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks in a single season. Behind his play, Cleveland went a franchise record 66–16 and fell one game short of matching the best home record in league history.[66] With averages of 28.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 7.2 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.2 blocks per game, James became the first Cavalier to win the MVP Award.

In the 2009 Playoffs, Cleveland swept the Pistons and the Atlanta Hawks to earn a match-up with the Orlando Magic in the Conference Finals. In Game 1 of the series, James scored 49 points on 66 percent shooting in a losing effort for the Cavaliers. In Game 2, he hit a game-winner to tie the series at 1–1. Cleveland would lose the series in six games, and following the loss in Game 6, James immediately left the floor without shaking hands with his opponents, an act many media members viewed as unsportsmanlike. For the series, he averaged 38.5 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 8 assists per game, finishing the postseason with a career playoff-high 35.3 points per game.

Midway through the 2009–10 season, the Cavaliers’ guards experienced significant injuries, forcing James into a temporary point guard role. With increased minutes as the team’s primary ball handler, he averaged a career-high 8.6 assists with 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1 block per game on 50 percent shooting en route to a second consecutive MVP Award. Cleveland also finished the season with the league’s best record for the second straight year. In the playoffs, the Cavaliers beat the Bulls in the first round but fell to the Celtics in the second round. James was heavily criticized for not playing well, particularly in Game 5 of the series when he shot only 20 percent on 14 shots, scoring 15 points.[78] At the conclusion of the game he walked off the court to a smattering of boos from Cleveland’s home crowd, the team having just suffered their worst home playoff loss ever. The Cavaliers were officially eliminated in Game 6, with James recording 27 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists, but on just 38 percent shooting with 9 turnovers.
2010 free agency

James became an unrestricted free agent at 12:01 am EDT on July 1, 2010. During his free agency he was courted by several teams including the Bulls, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and Cavaliers. On July 8, he announced on a live ESPN special titled The Decision that he would sign with the Heat. The telecast, broadcast from the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich, Connecticut, raised $2.5 million for the charity and an additional $3.5 million from advertisement revenue that was donated to other charities. The day before the special, fellow free agents Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade had also announced they would sign with Miami. James decided to join with Bosh and Wade in part so that he could shoulder less load offensively, thinking that his improved teammates would give him a better chance of winning a championship than had he stayed in Cleveland. Heat president Pat Riley played a major role in selling James on the idea of playing with Bosh and Wade. Relieved of the burden of scoring, James thought he could be the first player to average a triple-double in a season since Oscar Robertson.

James drew immense criticism from sports analysts, executives, fans, and current and former players for leaving the Cavaliers. The Decision itself was also scrutinized and viewed as unnecessary. Many thought the prolonged wait for James’ choice was unprofessional as not even the teams courting him were aware of his decision until moments before the show. Upon learning that James would not be returning to Cleveland, Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert published an open letter to fans in which he aggressively denounced James’ actions. Some angry fans of the team recorded videos of themselves burning his jersey. Former NBA players including Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson were also critical of James, condemning him for joining with Bosh and Wade in Miami and not trying to win a championship as “the guy”. James drew further criticism in a September interview with CNN when he claimed that race might have been a factor in the fallout from The Decision. As a result of his actions during the 2010 free agency period, James quickly gained a reputation as one of America’s most disliked athletes, a radical change from years prior. The phrase “taking my talents to South Beach” became a punch line for critics.

Immediately following The Decision, James claimed that there was nothing he would change about the handling of his free agency despite all the criticism. Since then, he has expressed regret over his actions. During the 2010–11 season, he said he “probably would do it a little bit different … But I'm happy with my decision.” James relented about the special before the 2011–12 season: “… if the shoe was on the other foot and I was a fan, and I was very passionate about one player, and he decided to leave, I would be upset too about the way he handled it.”

Miami Heat (2010–14)
Debut season (2010–11)

James officially became a member of the Heat on July 10, completing a sign-and-trade six-year contract with the team. With the move, he became only the third reigning MVP to change teams and the first since Moses Malone in 1982. Although his contract would have allowed him to earn the maximum salary under the collective bargaining agreement, he took less money in order for Miami to be able to afford Bosh and Wade as well as further roster support. That evening, the Heat threw a welcome party for their new “big three” at the American Airlines Arena, an event that took on a rock concert atmosphere. During the gathering, James predicted a dynasty for the Heat and alluded to multiple championships. Outside of Miami the spectacle was not well-received, furthering the negative public perception of James.

Throughout the 2010–11 season, James embraced the villain role bestowed upon him by the media; he later admitted he regretted this approach, commenting, “I started to play the game of basketball at a level, or at a mind state that I’ve never played at before … meaning, angry. And that’s mentally. That’s not the way I play the game of basketball.” On December 2, he returned to Cleveland for the first time since departing as a free agent, scoring 38 points and leading Miami to a win while being booed every time he touched the ball. He finished his debut season on the Heat with averages of 26.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7 assists per game on 51 percent shooting. Entering the playoffs as the East’s second seed, Miami advanced to the Finals before stumbling against the Dallas Mavericks, losing in six games despite holding a 2–1 series lead going into Game 4. James received the brunt of the criticism for the loss, averaging only 3 points in fourth quarters in the series. His Finals scoring average of 17.8 points per game signified an 8.9-point drop from the regular season, the largest point drop-off in league history.

Back-to-back championships (2011–13)

Humbled by the Heat’s loss to the Mavericks, James spent the offseason working with Hakeem Olajuwon on his post game. His work with Olajuwon paid off, fueling what Grantland’s Kirk Goldsberry called “one of the greatest and most important transformations in recent sports history”. Behind James’ more post-oriented play, Miami matched their best start to a season in franchise history, and at the conclusion of the lockout-shortened 2011–12 campaign, James was named MVP for the third time, finishing with averages of 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game on 53 percent shooting.

In the second round of the 2012 Playoffs, the Heat fell behind 2–1 to the Indiana Pacers. The series turned after Game 4 when James registered 40 points, 18 rebounds, and 9 assists in a winning effort on the road.[126] Miami eventually defeated the Pacers in six games. Facing elimination in Game 6 of the Conference Finals against the Celtics, James led the Heat to victory in what the New York Times called a "career-defining performance", scoring 45 points on a 73 percent shooting rate. Miami won Game 7 to advance to the Finals versus the Oklahoma City Thunder. Late in Game 4 of the series, James was carried off the floor after he started experiencing leg cramps. He returned soon after and hit a memorable three-pointer with 2:51 left to give the Heat a three point lead they did not relinquish.[129] In Game 5, he registered a triple-double as Miami defeated Oklahoma City for their second ever championship and James’ first championship. James was unanimously voted the Finals MVP with averages of 28.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game.

In February of the 2012–13 season, James had a “month for the ages”, averaging 29.7 points and 7.8 assists per game while setting multiple shooting efficiency records. During this period, the Heat began a 27-game winning streak, the second longest in NBA history. Behind his play, Miami finished the year with a franchise and league best 66–16 record, and James was named MVP for the fourth time, falling just one vote shy of becoming the first player in NBA history to win the award unanimously. His final season averages were 26.8 points, 8 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 1.7 steals per game on 56.5 percent shooting.

In Game 1 of the 2013 Conference Finals, James scored a buzzer-beating layup to give Miami a one point victory against the Pacers. Throughout the series, his supporting cast struggled significantly, and his added scoring load prompted him to compare his responsibilities to those of his “Cleveland days”. Despite these struggles, the Heat won the series in seven games advanced to the Finals for a meeting with the Spurs, signifying a rematch for James from his first Finals six years earlier. At the beginning of the series, he was criticized for his lack of aggressiveness and poor shot selection as Miami fell behind 2-3. In Game 6, he recorded his second triple-double of the series including 16 fourth quarter points to lead the Heat to a comeback victory. In Game 7, he tied the Finals record for most points scored in a Game 7 victory, leading Miami over San Antonio with 37 points. He was named Finals MVP for the second straight season, averaging 25.3 points, 10.9 rebounds, 7 assists, and 2.3 steals per game for the series.

Fourth consecutive Finals (2013–14)

On March 3 of the 2013–14 season, James scored a career-high and franchise record 61 points in a game against the Charlotte Bobcats. Throughout the year he was one of the few staples for a Heat roster that used 20 different starting line-ups due to injuries, finishing with averages of 27.1 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game on 56.7 percent shooting. In the second round of the playoffs, he tied a career postseason-high by scoring 49 points in Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets. In the next round, Miami defeated the Pacers to earn their fourth consecutive Finals berth, becoming one of only four teams in NBA history to do so. In Game 1 of the Finals, James missed most of the fourth quarter due to leg cramps, helping the Spurs take an early series lead.[151] In Game 2, he led the Heat to a series-tying victory with 35 points on a 64 percent shooting rate. San Antonio eventually eliminated the Heat in five games, ending Miami’s quest for a three-peat. For the Finals, James averaged 28.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 2 steals per game.

Lebron James’s Return to the Cavaliers (2014–present)

On June 25, James opted out of his contract with the Heat, officially becoming an unrestricted free agent on July 1. On July 11, he revealed via a first-person essay in Sports Illustrated that he intended to rejoin the Cavaliers. In contrast to The Decision, his announcement to return to Cleveland was well received. On July 12, he signed a two year contract with the team worth $42.1 million with an option to become a free agent again after the 2014–15 season. A month after James’ signing, the Cavaliers acquired Kevin Love from the Minnesota Timberwolves, forming a new “star-studded trio” along with Kyrie Irving.

International career of Lebron James

James made his debut for the United States national team at the 2004 Olympics in Athens, Greece. He spent the Games mostly on the bench, averaging 14.6 minutes per game with 5.8 points and 2.6 rebounds per game in eight games. Team USA finished the competition with a bronze medal, becoming the first U.S. basketball team to return home without a gold medal since adding professionals to their line-up. James felt his limited playing time was a “lowlight” and believed he was not given “a fair opportunity to play”. His attitude during the Olympics was described as “disrespectful” and “distasteful” by columnists Adrian Wojnarowski and Peter Vecsey, respectively.

At the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, James took on a greater role for Team USA, averaging 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game as co-captain. The team finished the tournament with an 8–1 record, winning another bronze medal. James’ behavior was again questioned, this time by teammate Bruce Bowen, who confronted James during tryouts regarding his treatment of staff members.

Before naming James to the 2008 Olympic team, Team USA managing director Jerry Colangelo and coach Mike Krzyzewski gave James an ultimatum to improve his attitude, and he heeded their advice. At the FIBA Americas Championship 2007, he averaged 18.1 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game, including a 31-point performance against Argentina in the championship game, the most ever by an American in an Olympic qualifier. Team USA went 10–0, winning the gold medal and qualifying for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, China.[162] James credited the team’s attitude and experience for their improvement, saying: “I don’t think we understood what it meant to put on a USA uniform and all the people that we were representing in 2004. We definitely know that now.” At the Olympics, Team USA went unbeaten, winning their first gold medal since 2000. In the final game, James turned in 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists against Spain.

James did not play at the 2010 FIBA World Championship but rejoined Team USA for the 2012 Olympics in London, England. He became the leader of the team with Kobe Bryant, who would soon be 34, stepping back. James facilitated the offense from the post and perimeter, called the defensive sets, and provided scoring when needed. During a game against Australia, he recorded the first triple-double in U.S. Olympic basketball history with 11 points, 14 rebounds and 12 assists. Team USA went on to win their second straight gold medal, again defeating Spain in the final game. James contributed 19 points in the win, becoming the all-time leading scorer in U.S. men’s basketball history. He also joined Michael Jordan as the only players to win an NBA MVP award, NBA championship, NBA Finals MVP, and Olympic gold medal in the same year. Afterwards, Krzyzewski said James “is the best player, he is the best leader and he is as smart as anybody playing the game right now.”

Player profile of Lebron James

Standing at six feet, eight inches tall and weighing 250 pounds, James has been called the best physical specimen in sports by some sports analysts and publications. He has started at small forward and power forward, but can also play the other three positions. With career averages of 27.5 points, 7.2 rebounds, 6.9 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, he is considered one of the most versatile players in the NBA, and has been compared to Hall of Famers Oscar Robertson, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan. James has earned All-NBA honors every season since his sophomore year, All-Defensive honors every season since 2009, and was named Rookie of the Year in his debut season. With four MVP awards, he is part of a select group of players who have won the award four times, including Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Bill Russell; only he and Russell have won four MVP awards in a five year span. While James has never won the Defensive Player of the Year Award, he has finished second in the voting twice and lists it as one of his main goals. Since 2011, he has been ranked the best player in the NBA by ESPN and Sports Illustrated.

In Cleveland, James was used as an on-ball point forward. Although his shooting tendencies were perimeter-oriented, he established himself as one of the best slashers and finishers in basketball, leading the NBA in three point plays in 2006. During his tenure with the Cavaliers, he was frequently criticized for not having developed a reliable jump shot or post game,[204] areas he improved in Miami, where Heat coach Erik Spoelstra changed James’ role to a more unconventional one. James began spending more time in the post and shooting fewer three-pointers, attempting a career-low 149 in 2012. He improved his shot selection and accuracy on jump shots, finishing second in the league in catch-and-shoot field goal percentage in 2013.[205] He also learned how to work as an off-ball cutter in the Heat’s “pass-happy” offense.[206] Throughout his career, James’ playmaking ability has been praised; in one article, Grantland’s Zach Lowe called him “one of the greatest passers ever”.[207] Using his size, vision, and the attention he garners from opposing defenses to his advantage,[208] James is able to create easy points for his teammates with accurate assists, manufacturing a league leading 2.6 three-pointers per game by way of his passing alone in 2013. ESPN’s Tom Haberstroh has called James’ free throw shooting his biggest weakness, describing it as “average”.

At the beginning of James’ career, he was considered a poor defensive player, but improved steadily through the years. Near the end of his tenure in Cleveland, he became proficient at the chase-down block; coming in from behind the opposition in transition to block their shot. In Miami, he developed into a more versatile defender, and the Heat relied on him to guard all five positions.[212] Paired with teammates Shane Battier and Dwyane Wade, Miami used James in an ultra-aggressive defensive scheme, with James cheating off the ball to help out inside or get into rebounding position.[214] In 2014, James was criticized for having a down defensive season, stemming from a lack of effort and a tendency for “coasting”.

James’ clutch play has been the subject of much scrutiny throughout his career. He has been repeatedly criticized by the media for his play in pressure situations; specifically, for passing instead of shooting in the waning seconds of close games. In a 2011 interview, teammate Chris Bosh stated that he would rather have Dwyane Wade take a last-second shot than James. On the other hand, a 2011 article by Henry Abbott revealed that James had a better shooting percentage with the game on the line than such notables as Ray Allen and Kobe Bryant. Additionally, a 2012 feature by ESPN ranked three of James’ playoff performances as some of the greatest in NBA history.

Personal life of Lebron James

James proposed to Savannah Brinson, his high school sweetheart, on December 31, 2011 at a party celebrating New Year's Eve and his 27th birthday. The two were married on September 14, 2013 in San Diego.Together they have two sons, LeBron James, Jr. and Bryce Maximus James, and one daughter, Zhuri James.  During his tenure with the Heat, James resided in Coconut Grove, an affluent Miami neighborhood, where he bought a three-story mansion overlooking Biscayne Bay for $9 million. He later sold the Miami property for $12.5 million on March 23, 2014.

Business interests of Lebron James

James is represented by agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports. James’ first agent was Aaron Goodwin, who he left in 2005 for Leon Rose. Rose joined Creative Artists Agency (CAA) in 2007, and he worked with fellow CAA agent Henry Thomas, who represented Wade and Bosh, to bring James to Miami in 2010. James left CAA for Paul in 2012. James, Paul, Maverick Carter, and Randy Mims—all childhood friends— formed agent and sports-marketing company LRMR after James left Goodwin. LRMR handles James’ marketing, and was criticized for its role in the marketing of The Decision.

James has numerous endorsement contracts; some of the companies he does business with are Audemars Piguet,Coca-Cola, Dunkin’ Brands,McDonald’s,Nike,State Farm, and Samsung. Coming out of high school, he was the target of a three-way bidding war between Nike, Reebok, and Adidas, eventually signing with Nike for approximately $90 million. His signature shoes have performed well for Nike, and in 2013 he led all NBA players in shoe sales. In 2011, Fenway Sports Group became the sole global marketer of his rights, and as part of the deal, he was granted minority stakes in the English Premier League football club Liverpool F.C. As a result of James’ endorsement money and NBA salary, he has been listed as one of the world’s highest-paid athletes. In 2013, he surpassed Kobe Bryant as the highest paid basketball player in the world with earnings of $56.5 million. In 2014, James realized a profit of more than $30 million as part of Apple’s acquisition of Beats Electronics; he had originally struck a deal to get a small stake in the company at its inception in exchange for promoting its headphones.

James, with comedian Jimmy Kimmel, co-hosted the 2007 ESPY Awards. In other comedic pursuits, he hosted the 33rd season premiere of Saturday Night Live.In 2009, he was featured in the Lions Gate documentary More Than a Game, which chronicled his high school years. He has also tried his hand at acting, appearing in a cameo role on the HBO series Entourage. In 2014, he signed on to star as himself in the Judd Apatow film Trainwreck. James is currently producing a Starz sitcom called Survivor’s Remorse.

Public image of Lebron James

James has been ranked by Forbes as one of the world’s most influential athletes throughout his career.Throughout his first tenure with the Cavaliers, he was adored by local fans, with Sherwin-Williams displaying a giant Nike-produced banner of James on their world headquarters. Despite their affection for James, Cleveland fans and critics were frequently annoyed when he attended Cleveland Indians games against the New York Yankees dressed in a Yankees hat. Following his actions during the 2010 free agency period and, more specifically, The Decision, he was listed as one of the world’s most disliked athletes. By 2013, his image had mostly recovered and he was reported by ESPN as the most popular player in the NBA for the second time in his career. In 2014, he was named the most popular male athlete in America by the Harris Poll. He has led the league in jersey sales six times.

A philanthropist, James is an active supporter of the Boys & Girls Club of America, Children’s Defense Fund, and ONEXONE.He has also established his own charity foundation called the LeBron James Family Foundation, based out of Akron. Since 2005, the foundation has held an annual bike-a-thon in Akron to raise money for various causes.

In March 2008, James became the first black man—and third man overall after Richard Gere and George Clooney—to appear on the cover of Vogue, posing with Gisele Bündchen. Some sports bloggers and columnists considered the cover offensive, describing the demeanor of James and his holding Bündchen as a reference to classic imagery of the movie monster King Kong, a dark savage capturing his light-skinned love interest.

James has taken stances on controversial issues throughout his career, mentioning on several occasions a feeling of obligation to effect change using his status. In 2007 he drew criticism when he declined to sign a petition started by his Cavaliers teammate Ira Newble regarding the Chinese government’s alleged involvement in the ongoing conflict in the Darfur region of Sudan, stating that he did not know enough about the issue. A year later, James did talk publicly about the issue, saying, “At the end of the day we’re talking about human rights. And people should understand that human rights and people’s lives are in jeopardy. We’re not talking about contracts here. We’re not talking about money. We’re talking about people’s lives being lost and that means a lot more to me than some money or a contract.” In June 2008, James donated $20,000 to a committee to elect Barack Obama. Later that year, James gathered almost 20,000 people at the Quicken Loans Arena for a viewing of Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama’s 30-minute American Stories, American Solutions television advertisement. It was shown on a large screen above the stage, where Jay-Z later held a free concert. In 2012, James gathered his Heat teammates for a group photo in hooded sweatshirts to bring awareness to the Trayvon Martin case. In 2014, he reacted to alleged racist comments made by Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, saying, “There is no room for Donald Sterling in our league … There is no room for him.” He would also take a public stand after nationwide riots due to the Michael Brown controversy and would state “violence is not the answer”.

In Conclusion: I have tried my best to give you the best of the information about MBA player Lebron James.

SEO  (Search Engine Optimization) – Explained – Guide

SEO (Search Engine Optimization) - Gameforumer

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

So what is SEO?

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of affecting the visibility of a website or a web page in a search engine’s “natural” or un-paid (“organic”) search results. In general, the earlier (or higher ranked on the search results page), and more frequently a site appears in the search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users. SEO may target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, video search, academic search, news search and industry-specific vertical search engines.

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work, what people search for, the actual search terms or keywords typed into search engines and which search engines are preferred by their targeted audience. Optimizing a website may involve editing its content, HTML and associated coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines. Promoting a site to increase the number of backlinks, or inbound links, is another SEO tactic.

The plural of the abbreviation SEO can also refer to “search engine optimizers”, those who provide SEO services.
History

Webmasters and content providers began optimizing sites for search engines in the mid-1990s, as the first search engines were cataloging the early Web. Initially, all webmasters needed to do was to submit the address of a page, or URL, to the various engines which would send a “spider” to “crawl” that page, extract links to other pages from it, and return information found on the page to be indexed. The process involves a search engine spider downloading a page and storing it on the search engine’s own server, where a second program, known as an indexer, extracts various information about the page, such as the words it contains and where these are located, as well as any weight for specific words, and all links the page contains, which are then placed into a scheduler for crawling at a later date.

Site owners started to recognize the value of having their sites highly ranked and visible in search engine results, creating an opportunity for both white hat and black hat SEO practitioners. According to industry analyst Danny Sullivan, the phrase “search engine optimization” probably came into use in 1997. On May 2, 2007, Jason Gambert attempted to trademark the term SEO by convincing the Trademark Office in Arizona[5] that SEO is a “process” involving manipulation of keywords, and not a “marketing service.” The reviewing attorney basically bought his incoherent argument that while “SEO” can’t be trademarked when it refers to a generic process of manipulated keywords, it can be a service mark for providing “marketing services…in the field of computers.”

Early versions of search algorithms relied on webmaster-provided information such as the keyword meta tag, or index files in engines like ALIWEB. Meta tags provide a guide to each page’s content. Using meta data to index pages was found to be less than reliable, however, because the webmaster’s choice of keywords in the meta tag could potentially be an inaccurate representation of the site’s actual content. Inaccurate, incomplete, and inconsistent data in meta tags could and did cause pages to rank for irrelevant searches.[dubious – discuss] Web content providers also manipulated a number of attributes within the HTML source of a page in an attempt to rank well in search engines.
By relying so much on factors such as keyword density which were exclusively within a webmaster’s control, early search engines suffered from abuse and ranking manipulation. To provide better results to their users, search engines had to adapt to ensure their results pages showed the most relevant search results, rather than unrelated pages stuffed with numerous keywords by unscrupulous webmasters. Since the success and popularity of a search engine is determined by its ability to produce the most relevant results to any given search, poor quality or irrelevant search results could lead users to find other search sources. Search engines responded by developing more complex ranking algorithms, taking into account additional factors that were more difficult for webmasters to manipulate. Graduate students at Stanford University, Larry Page and Sergey Brin, developed “Backrub,” a search engine that relied on a mathematical algorithm to rate the prominence of web pages. The number calculated by the algorithm, PageRank, is a function of the quantity and strength of inbound links. PageRank estimates the likelihood that a given page will be reached by a web user who randomly surfs the web, and follows links from one page to another. In effect, this means that some links are stronger than others, as a higher PageRank page is more likely to be reached by the random surfer.

Page and Brin founded Google in 1998. Google attracted a loyal following among the growing number of Internet users, who liked its simple design. Off-page factors (such as PageRank and hyperlink analysis) were considered as well as on-page factors (such as keyword frequency, meta tags, headings, links and site structure) to enable Google to avoid the kind of manipulation seen in search engines that only considered on-page factors for their rankings. Although PageRank was more difficult to game, webmasters had already developed link building tools and schemes to influence the Inktomi search engine, and these methods proved similarly applicable to gaming PageRank. Many sites focused on exchanging, buying, and selling links, often on a massive scale. Some of these schemes, or link farms, involved the creation of thousands of sites for the sole purpose of link spamming.

By 2004, search engines had incorporated a wide range of undisclosed factors in their ranking algorithms to reduce the impact of link manipulation. In June 2007, The New York Times’ Saul Hansell stated Google ranks sites using more than 200 different signals. The leading search engines, Google, Bing, and Yahoo, do not disclose the algorithms they use to rank pages. Some SEO practitioners have studied different approaches to search engine optimization, and have shared their personal opinions Patents related to search engines can provide information to better understand search engines.

In 2005, Google began personalizing search results for each user. Depending on their history of previous searches, Google crafted results for logged in users. In 2008, Bruce Clay said that “ranking is dead” because of personalized search. He opined that it would become meaningless to discuss how a website ranked, because its rank would potentially be different for each user and each search.

In 2007, Google announced a campaign against paid links that transfer PageRank. On June 15, 2009, Google disclosed that they had taken measures to mitigate the effects of PageRank sculpting by use of the nofollow attribute on links. Matt Cutts, a well-known software engineer at Google, announced that Google Bot would no longer treat nofollowed links in the same way, in order to prevent SEO service providers from using nofollow for PageRank sculpting. As a result of this change the usage of nofollow leads to evaporation of pagerank. In order to avoid the above, SEO engineers developed alternative techniques that replace nofollowed tags with obfuscated Javascript and thus permit PageRank sculpting. Additionally several solutions have been suggested that include the usage of iframes, Flash and Javascript.
In December 2009, Google announced it would be using the web search history of all its users in order to populate search results.

On June 8, 2010 a new web indexing system called Google Caffeine was announced. Designed to allow users to find news results, forum posts and other content much sooner after publishing than before, Google caffeine was a change to the way Google updated its index in order to make things show up quicker on Google than before. According to Carrie Grimes, the software engineer who announced Caffeine for Google, “Caffeine provides 50 percent fresher results for web searches than our last index…”

Google Instant, real-time-search, was introduced in late 2010 in an attempt to make search results more timely and relevant. Historically site administrators have spent months or even years optimizing a website to increase search rankings. With the growth in popularity of social media sites and blogs the leading engines made changes to their algorithms to allow fresh content to rank quickly within the search results.

In February 2011, Google announced the Panda update, which penalizes websites containing content duplicated from other websites and sources. Historically websites have copied content from one another and benefited in search engine rankings by engaging in this practice, however Google implemented a new system which punishes sites whose content is not unique.

In April 2012, Google launched the Google Penguin update the goal of which was to penalize websites that used manipulative techniques to improve their rankings on the search engine.

In September 2013, Google released the Google Hummingbird update, an algorithm change designed to improve Google’s natural language processing and semantic understanding of web pages.

SEO – Relationship with search engines

By 1997, search engine designers recognized that webmasters were making efforts to rank well in their search engines, and that some webmasters were even manipulating their rankings in search results by stuffing pages with excessive or irrelevant keywords. Early search engines, such as Altavista and Infoseek, adjusted their algorithms in an effort to prevent webmasters from manipulating rankings.

In 2005, an annual conference, AIRWeb, Adversarial Information Retrieval on the Web was created to bring together practitioners and researchers concerned with search engine optimisation and related topics.

Companies that employ overly aggressive techniques can get their client websites banned from the search results. In 2005, the Wall Street Journal reported on a company, Traffic Power, which allegedly used high-risk techniques and failed to disclose those risks to its clients. Wired magazine reported that the same company sued blogger and SEO Aaron Wall for writing about the ban. Google’s Matt Cutts later confirmed that Google did in fact ban Traffic Power and some of its clients.

Some search engines have also reached out to the SEO industry, and are frequent sponsors and guests at SEO conferences, chats, and seminars. Major search engines provide information and guidelines to help with site optimization. Google has a Sitemaps program to help webmasters learn if Google is having any problems indexing their website and also provides data on Google traffic to the website.Bing Webmaster Tools provides a way for webmasters to submit a sitemap and web feeds, allows users to determine the crawl rate, and track the web pages index status.

SEO Methods

Getting indexed

The leading search engines, such as Google, Bing and Yahoo!, use crawlers to find pages for their algorithmic search results. Pages that are linked from other search engine indexed pages do not need to be submitted because they are found automatically. Two major directories, the Yahoo Directory and DMOZ both require manual submission and human editorial review. Google offers Google Webmaster Tools, for which an XML Sitemap feed can be created and submitted for free to ensure that all pages are found, especially pages that are not discoverable by automatically following links. Yahoo! formerly operated a paid submission service that guaranteed crawling for a cost per click;this was discontinued in 2009.

Search engine crawlers may look at a number of different factors when crawling a site. Not every page is indexed by the search engines. Distance of pages from the root directory of a site may also be a factor in whether or not pages get crawled.

Preventing crawling

To avoid undesirable content in the search indexes, webmasters can instruct spiders not to crawl certain files or directories through the standard robots.txt file in the root directory of the domain. Additionally, a page can be explicitly excluded from a search engine’s database by using a meta tag specific to robots. When a search engine visits a site, the robots.txt located in the root directory is the first file crawled. The robots.txt file is then parsed, and will instruct the robot as to which pages are not to be crawled. As a search engine crawler may keep a cached copy of this file, it may on occasion crawl pages a webmaster does not wish crawled. Pages typically prevented from being crawled include login specific pages such as shopping carts and user-specific content such as search results from internal searches. In March 2007, Google warned webmasters that they should prevent indexing of internal search results because those pages are considered search spam.

Increasing prominence

A variety of methods can increase the prominence of a webpage within the search results. Cross linking between pages of the same website to provide more links to most important pages may improve its visibility. Writing content that includes frequently searched keyword phrase, so as to be relevant to a wide variety of search queries will tend to increase traffic. Updating content so as to keep search engines crawling back frequently can give additional weight to a site. Adding relevant keywords to a web page’s meta data, including the title tag and meta description, will tend to improve the relevancy of a site’s search listings, thus increasing traffic. URL normalization of web pages accessible via multiple urls, using the canonical link element or via 301 redirects can help make sure links to different versions of the url all count towards the page’s link popularity score.

SEO White hat vs SEO black hat techniques

SEO techniques can be classified into two broad categories: techniques that search engines recommend as part of good design, and those techniques of which search engines do not approve. The search engines attempt to minimize the effect of the latter, among them spamdexing. Industry commentators have classified these methods, and the practitioners who employ them, as either white hat SEO, or black hat SEO. White hats tend to produce results that last a long time, whereas black hats anticipate that their sites may eventually be banned either temporarily or permanently once the search engines discover what they are doing.

An SEO technique is considered white hat if it conforms to the search engines’ guidelines and involves no deception. As the search engine guidelines are not written as a series of rules or commandments, this is an important distinction to note. White hat SEO is not just about following guidelines, but is about ensuring that the content a search engine indexes and subsequently ranks is the same content a user will see. White hat advice is generally summed up as creating content for users, not for search engines, and then making that content easily accessible to the spiders, rather than attempting to trick the algorithm from its intended purpose. White hat SEO is in many ways similar to web development that promotes accessibility, although the two are not identical.

Black hat SEO attempts to improve rankings in ways that are disapproved of by the search engines, or involve deception. One black hat technique uses text that is hidden, either as text colored similar to the background, in an invisible div, or positioned off screen. Another method gives a different page depending on whether the page is being requested by a human visitor or a search engine, a technique known as cloaking.

Another category sometimes used is grey hat SEO. This is in between black hat and white hat approaches where the methods employed avoid the site being penalized however do not act in producing the best content for users, rather entirely focused on improving search engine rankings.

Search engines may penalize sites they discover using black hat methods, either by reducing their rankings or eliminating their listings from their databases altogether. Such penalties can be applied either automatically by the search engines’ algorithms, or by a manual site review. One example was the February 2006 Google removal of both BMW Germany and Ricoh Germany for use of deceptive practices. Both companies, however, quickly apologized, fixed the offending pages, and were restored to Google’s list.

SEO As a marketing strategy

SEO is not an appropriate strategy for every website, and other Internet marketing strategies can be more effective like paid advertising through pay per click (PPC) campaigns, depending on the site operator’s goals.A successful Internet marketing campaign may also depend upon building high quality web pages to engage and persuade, setting up analytics programs to enable site owners to measure results, and improving a site’s conversion rate.

SEO may generate an adequate return on investment. However, search engines are not paid for organic search traffic, their algorithms change, and there are no guarantees of continued referrals. Due to this lack of guarantees and certainty, a business that relies heavily on search engine traffic can suffer major losses if the search engines stop sending visitors. Search engines can change their algorithms, impacting a website’s placement, possibly resulting in a serious loss of traffic. According to Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt, in 2010, Google made over 500 algorithm changes – almost 1.5 per day.It is considered wise business practice for website operators to liberate themselves from dependence on search engine traffic.

SEO in International markets

Search Engine Optimization techniques are highly tuned to the dominant search engines in the target market. The search engines’ market shares vary from market to market, as does competition. In 2003, Danny Sullivan stated that Google represented about 75% of all searches. In markets outside the United States, Google’s share is often larger, and Google remains the dominant search engine worldwide as of 2007. As of 2006, Google had an 85–90% market share in Germany. While there were hundreds of SEO firms in the US at that time, there were only about five in Germany. As of June 2008, the marketshare of Google in the UK was close to 90% according to Hitwise. That market share is achieved in a number of countries.

As of 2009, there are only a few large markets where Google is not the leading search engine. In most cases, when Google is not leading in a given market, it is lagging behind a local player. The most notable example markets are China, Japan, South Korea, Russia and the Czech Republic where respectively Baidu, Yahoo! Japan, Naver, Yandex and Seznam are market leaders.

Tera Online MMO RPG Full and Detailed Review

The Exiled Realm of Arborea (officially abbreviated as TERA) is a 3D fantasy themed MMORPG developed by Bluehole Studio. The game was released in South Korea on January 25, 2011, in Japan on August 18, 2011, in North America on May 1, 2012, and in Europe on May 3, 2012, with closed and open beta testings taking place before the launch dates. NHN Corporation, NHN Japan Corporation, En Masse Entertainment and Frogster Interactive Pictures publishes the game in these regions, respectively.

Plot

On the official website, the following backstory for the game was revealed:

About a millennia ago two omnipotent titans Arun and Shara entered into formless voids and for reasons we can only guess, fell asleep.
The titans started to dream. Dream of a world that took form on their backs known as Tera.
The first beings to call Tera home were twelve godlike beings dreamt up by the titans, but it wasn't long before the gods started fighting.

As the dream continued new creatures took place called mortals, they were less powerful but far more numerous.
Arun dreamed of ambitious Elves, clever Humans, honor bound Amani, powerful Giants, scheming Devas, and mischievous Poporis.
Shara dreamed of sly Sikandari, dark Gulas and Vampires, fierce Wendigos, strange Faeries, and serpentine Nagas.
The mortals were forced into the divine wars of the gods, which eventually left the gods dead, imprisoned, or otherwise diminished.
The mortal races didn't escape unscathed. Some—like the Sikandari, and most of the Giants—were wiped out but others rose from the wars such as the Barakas and Castanics.
Now that the gods were gone the seven races; Amani, Barakas, Castanics, Elin, High Elves, Humans, and Poporis must band together to fend off a new enemy.
A metallic race from the underworld called Argons; their goal is to take over Tera and wake the titans to end their dreams and destroy Tera.

Tera Online Gameplay

TERA has typical MMORPG features such as questing, crafting, and player versus player action. The game’s combat uses a real-time battle system that incorporates third person camera view. The player targets an enemy with a cross-hair cursor rather than clicking or tabbing an individual opponent (which is called the “Non-Target battle system” by the developer). The Players need to actively dodge enemy attacks.A keyboard and mouse or a control pad can be used to control the character.

The developers collaborated with CCP Games and their successful use of “PLEX” for Eve Online as a way of deterring gold farmers. As a result, TERA released a currency called “Chronoscrolls” that works similarly, as it allows game time to be purchased with real money and sold for in-game gold. The use of Chronoscrolls is only available to users who have purchased the game either digitally or physically. Those with the “Discovery Edition” cannot use Chronoscrolls.

In February 2013, Tera in North America and Europe transitioned to “Tera Rising”, which changed the subscription model to a “freemium” design (free play plus buyable premium status and customization options). The developer has promised no time, level, or content restrictions for free players after this update.[10] Players who purchase a 30-day “Elite” status will receive increased dungeon rewards, in-game discounts and other metagame advantages.[11] Due to the new model, the “Chronoscrolls” mentioned above are being phased out, and are no longer sold by the developer, nor usable to extend game time. Existing chronoscrolls can be sold to merchants for 2,000 gold.

The Japanese and Korean versions of Tera also became free to play in December 2012 and January 2013, respectively.
Races

Tera Online Characters may be one of seven races:

The Aman, a race of draconian humanoids
The Baraka, a giant, intelligent race
The Castanics, a demon-like race
The Elins, an innocent nature loving race
The High Elves, a race of traditional and elegant humanoids
The Humans
The Popori, an animal-like race.

The Baraka, Elin, and Popori are gender locked (only male Baraka and Popori, and female Elin exist). Both males and females are playable for the rest of the races. The Elin were originally projected as Female Popori in the early stages of the game creation.

Each race has a set of unique “racial skills” that gives them minor advantages. For instance, Elins and Popori have skills that increase out-of-combat movement speed, while High Elves can restore all of their MP on a long (2 hour) cooldown. Races also have their own unique animations for many class-specific skills, leading to small advantages and disadvantages in framerate, animation speed, movement distance, attack distance, or other attributes for each individual skill depending on which race the player has chosen.

Tera  Online Classes

Archer

The Archer is a "Ranged Damage Class," using a bow and wearing leather armor. They have the lowest health pool with no defensive advantages to compensate, making them more challenging to solo with. This class is known to possess a wide range of abilities to help control the fight by using traps and ranged attacks, which reduce attack speed, snare, and stun. Archers’ damage scales based on the distance to the target. Within 10 meters, damage is unchanged. For every 3 meters past 10, damage is reduced by 15%. The exact scale is 11–14 meters, 15%, 15–18 meters, 15% The basic Arrow attack extends to a maximum range of 19 meters, but suffers a 1.5% penalty from the damage dealt at 18 meters. Despite this scaling, the biggest benefit to Archers is that they have the choice to remain at a safe distance, as most incoming Area of Effect attacks have an effective range of 10 meters. Their two charged attacks actually have a “kickback” component of pushing the Archer back 2–4 meters (depending on charge), meaning a well timed attack with an incoming AoE would create a simultaneous evasive maneuver and attack. In PvP, their stuns and high damage from their stances make them arguably the best PvP class.

Berserker

The Berserker is a "Melee Damage Class," using a two-handed axe and wearing heavy armor. This class is the heaviest hitter in the game but also the slowest. They can stay in the frontlines of a battle by blocking any attacks with their axe and provide powerful burst damage with charged attacks, where they unleash a single massive strike. Berserkers eventually become relatively fast at dealing massive damage through the use of certain glyphs and skill rotations. They are similar to the Sorcerer in speed and damage dealt, but have greater mobility and defense. In PvP, Berserkers are a constant threat as they can potentially one-hit KO a player with a big critical hit from their charged attack. As such, they are able to bully and keep other melee classes in check.

Lancer

The Lancer is a "Blocking Tank," using a shield with a lance and wearing heavy armor. The Lancer is the most defensive class in the game as they can use their shield to completely guard themselves and allies standing behind them from incoming attacks. Possessing the highest survivability of all the classes, Lancers also have the lowest damage output in the game, excluding the healing classes. In PvE, Lancers are generally accepted as the main tanking class as they are able to mitigate all incoming damage without any risks, compared to the much stricter dodge timing required by the Warrior. Lancers have two key skills that allow him to hold the attention of the enemy: Shield Counter with the extra threat glyph is their main skill, which can only be used after a successful block; Challenging Shout is their second skill, of which its large range can be used as a way to pull enemies from a distance. In PvP, Lancers serve to support the party by constantly harassing the enemy’s support classes with stuns and interrupts while mitigating as much damage as possible to the party. Most notably, Baraka Lancers can make use of the game’s collision detection by simply being large enough to block off key doorways with their body.

Mystic

The Mystic is a "Support Healer Class," using a scepter and wearing cloth armor. The Mystic provides more utility than the traditional healer by being able to create health and mana pickups instead of directly healing the party. This means that skilled parties who proactively avoid damage by dodging will actually benefit much more from a Mystic healer as the mana pickups will allow damage dealers to use their skills without any downtime. However, this means that Mystics are constantly running around the battlefield to keep the party optimized with heals, mana, or buffs. Between Mystics and Priests, Mystics are much more difficult to play. Mystics are most notable for being able to summon temporary minions to help with healing or to draw aggro while soloing, and for their powerful crowd control abilities which makes them invaluable for initiating team battles in PvP.

Priest

The Priest is a "Primary Healer Class," using a staff and wearing cloth armor. This traditional healer class uses a stationary style of healing, where healing doesn’t require as much mobility on the Priest’s part. This makes Priests much easier to play than Mystics, who must move around constantly to keep the party optimized. While Mystics specialize in boosting a party’s offense, the Priest excels in keeping the party alive. Priests have all kinds of heals for any situation, and can cover the entire party with a temporary damage absorption shield. In PvP, Priests take on the tank role as the entire enemy team will naturally focus on the Priest. Their many heals gives them immense survivability and makes them quite difficult to finish off as the Priest’s party will be picking off any pursuers.

Reaper

A new, Elin-only class added in 2014 (exact date differs depending on version). The reaper is a “Mid-Range Damage Class,” using a pair of sickle-scythes attached to chains to damage their enemies. Reapers wear leather, but are defensively fragile due to their innately low endurance stats. Instead, they rely on short teleports (‘flash steps’) and counterattacks to keep themselves alive in both PvP and PvE. Reaper skills execute quickly and have extremely high sustained damage, but have high cooldowns, necessating cooldown and skill management.[citation needed]
Slayer

The Slayer is a "Melee Damage Class," using a two-handed sword and wearing leather armor. This class naturally excels in soloing because of the innate crowd control capability it possesses through knockdowns. Their high chance of knockdowns is always a huge threat in PvP, while in PvE it provides breathing room for the group. Slayers hit extremely hard and move very fast in combat, which makes them powerful in any situation. This class is very popular because it’s easy to play as well as being very reliable, which cements its position as a staple role in both high level PvE and PvP.

Sorcerer

The Sorcerer is a "Ranged Magic Damage Class," using an arcane disc and wearing cloth armor. Sorcerers are capable of great sustained burst damage, and are able to restore their own mana pool relatively quickly with a very short cooldown. Sorcerers, as the traditional glass cannon, output the highest DPS in the game by maintaining a fast and continuous barrage of spells at the cost of survivability. In PvE, they are the most reliable source of DPS as they are generally out of harm’s way and their spells hit very hard. In PvP, they are invaluable in team fights by forcing enemy groups to scatter to avoid their powerful AoE spells.

Warrior

The Warrior is an "Evasive Tank" or “Melee Damage Class,” dual-wielding twin swords and wearing leather armor. Warriors are the other tank in the game, relying on well-timed dodges to avoid incoming damage. As a result, Warriors are the hardest class to play in the game as it requires the player to become familiar with attack patterns to dodge efficiently, while the Lancer can just hold block whenever they feel threatened. Despite their light armor, Warriors actually gain higher endurance ratings than Lancers in the endgame due to their extremely good gear scaling, which means they take less damage from hits. However, Lancers will still easily outlast the Warrior due to the reliability of their block mechanic. Despite the obvious advantages of a Lancer tank, Warriors are more than capable of tanking all endgame content; it just requires a different approach. In a damage role, Warriors excel at it as they have high mobility to stay on their targets, which also makes their play style feel like the traditional thief/rogue class. Warriors are very powerful in PvP as their tanking nature gives them lots of natural survivability while their fast attacks keeps the target pinned down. Casters are especially vulnerable to Warriors and have a very difficult time trying to escape. Warriors are a popular class due to their high-speed nature.

Ebon Tower(131 Item Level): Level 58 Hard Mode, 5-man dungeon.
Kelsaik’s Nest(131 Item Level): Level 58, Normal, 5-man dungeon.

Balder’s Temple and Fane of Kaprima were considered the end-game dungeons during the NA and EU release. Balder’s Temple was eventually nerfed; Balder’s Temple (hard mode) and Fane of Kaprima were both removed during the Wonderholme patch.

Balder’s Temple(138 Item Level): Level 60 Normal/Hard, 5-man dungeon.
Fane of Kaprima(138 Item Level): Level 60 Normal/Hard, 5-man dungeon.

The following dungeons were originally released as level 58 dungeons in Korea, but were revamped to challenge and reward lower-leveled players when the game was released in North America/Europe. Because they were originally intended to be end-game dungeons, they contain challenging mechanics that are not normally found in dungeons at their levels. All of these dungeons dropped unenchantable equipment with high healing/block and very good base statistics, making them some of the best equipment in the game at their respective levels. These dungeons were reverted to level 58 during the K-Tera synchronization patch.

Sigil Adstringo: Level 45, 5-man dungeon.
Suryati’s Peak: Level 52, 5-man dungeon.
Ascent of Saravash: Level 56, 5-man dungeon.

Kelsaik’s Nest (hard mode) was originally a level 58 dungeon in K-Tera. Because of the very difficult mechanics of this dungeon, it was revised to a level 60 dungeon during the NA release. The dungeon was also updated to drop some of the best equipment in the game at the time. Kelsaik’s Nest was eventually reverted to a level 58 dungeon in NA.

Kelsaik’s Nest(132 Item Level): Level 60, Hard Mode, 5-man dungeon.

Tera Online Temple of Temerity Update (NA/EU)

The Temple of Temerity update added one dungeon, originally named “Training Grounds” in the Korean and Japanese versions of the game, to the NA and EU releases. Although the original Training Grounds is a level 58 dungeon, Temple of Temerity was released as level 60, with the HP and damage of all bosses and mobs increased to match the higher level. Temple of Temerity dropped tokens that can be exchanged for improved “glyphs”, which increase attributes and/or add new effects to a character’s skills.

Temple of Temerity was reverted to a level 58 dungeon with the more recent K-Tera synchronization patch.

Temple of Temerity(140 Item Level): Level 60, 5-man dungeon.

Tera Online Argon Queen Content Update

The Argon Queen update expanded on the campaign against the Argons; players are required to complete a series of quests relating to the Argons and their connection to the defeated god, Kelsaik, cumulating in an assault on Argon Corpus – the Argon base – and the defeat of the leader of the Argons, Shandra Manaya, in the hardest instance of the game.

Argon Corpus(142 Item Level): Level 60 Normal Mode. 5-man dungeon.
Argon Corpus(147 Item Level): Level 60 Hard Mode. 5-man dungeon.
Manaya’s Core(153 Item Level): Level 60 Hard Mode. 5-man dungeon.
Nexus Traverse: Level 60, 20-man raid.

Manaya’s Core (normal mode) was not added with the Argon Queen update, but was included in the game in a later patch. It contains a slightly slower variation of Shandra Manaya with reduced mechanics, lower health, and decreased damage.

Manaya’s Core(147 Item Level): Level 60 Normal Mode. 5-man dungeon.

Sirjuka Gallery was added with the Argon Queen update. The dungeon was a “timed run” consisting of defeating waves of mobs before they could destroy a “crystal” located in the center, with the party scoring points for killing mobs, protecting the crystals, and performing other pre-determined actions. The points determine the quality of the reward that are received at the end of the dungeon.

Sirjuka Gallery(140 Item Level): Level 60, 5-man dungeon.

The Argon Queen patch also added the first Player_versus_player instance in the North American/European versions of TERA. “Fraywind Canyon” is an instance that pits two teams of up to 15 players against each other. Teams must compete to capture “pyres” located at the north, south, and center of the map to score points; points can also be scored by killing members of the opposing team or by killing special monsters that spawn in the instance. The first team to reach 5000 points is declared the winner.

Fraywind Canyon: Level 60, 15-man PvP Instance.

Tera Online Crucible of Flames Update

The Crucible of Flames update added one “timed run” dungeon, Crucible of Flames. Crucible of Flames is an adjustable difficulty dungeons, rewarding points in a similar fashion to Sirjuka Gallery, although points were primarily earned by finishing bosses and mobs as quickly as possible on as high of a difficulty as possible. Crucible includes a “ranking” feature where players scoring the most points within a 2-week “season” would earn additional rewards, among which an exclusive mount.

Crucible of Flame(142 Item Level): Level 60, 5-man dungeon.

Champion’s Skyring Update

The Champion’s Skyring update added a new PvP instance, “Champion’s Skyring”, to the game. Champion’s Skyring is a simple 3v3 PvP match set within a mostly open arena, with pillars that can be used as cover. Teams are composed of one healer and two DPS, and matches continue until one team is completely incapacitated. The first team to win twice (out of three matches) is declared the winner. Champion’s Skyring introduced a new type of PvP credit – Killing Spree – that can be used to buy new PvP gear.

Champion’s Skyring: Level 60, 20-man PvP Instance.

Tera Online Corsair’s Stronghold Update

The Corsair Stronghold patch added a new PvP instance, Corsair’s Stronghold. The instance pits two teams of 20 players against each other; teams take turns assaulting and defending a fortress, with the attack being declared successful when a crystal in the center of the fortress is destroyed. The attacking team may use airships, scale ladders, or break gates to break through the fortress’s defenses, while the defending team must protect these chokepoints – and ultimately, their crystal – from attack. The team that takes the least time to break the crystal, or brings the crystal down to the lowest health in the case that both teams fail to successfully break, is declared the winner.

Corsair’s Stronghold also introduced “equalized battlegrounds”, where players’ gears are temporarily suppressed and replaced with a set of gear with predetermined stats to eliminate gear advantage. In addition, Corsair’s Stronghold is the first dungeon that is open to players level 30-60. Lower level players will have their skills scaled upwards to match

Crucible of Flame(142 Item Level): Level 60, 5-man dungeon.

Tera OnlineK-TERA Synchronization Update

The K-TERA Synchronization Update was a patch that purported to remove all of the region-specific changes in NA and EU. Among other changes, many of the dungeons that had their levels altered from the Korean version of TERA were reverted to their original forma.

Sigil Adstringo(134 Item Level): Level 58 (originally 45), 5-man dungeon.
Ascent of Saravash(134 Item Level): Level 58 (originally 52), 5-man dungeon.
Suryati’s Peak(126 Item Level): Level 58 (originally 56), 5-man dungeon.
Kelsaik’s Nest(132 Item Level): Level 58 (originally 60), Hard Mode, 5-man dungeon.

Tera Online Kelsaik Raid Update

The Kelsaik Raid Update added two raids – a 10-man and a 20-man version of Kelsaik’s Nest. The bosses in these dungeons have mechanics similar to the level 58 version of Kelsaik’s Nest, but with added damage. Several new mechanics were introduced as well.

Kelsaik’s Raid X(147 Item Level): Level 60, 10-man raid.
Kelsaik’s Raid XX(153 Item Level): Level 60, 20-man raid.

Tera Online Wonderholme Update

The Wonderholme update made several significant changes to the game. A number of old dungeons were removed or modified significantly, and a number of new instances were added to the game. The Wonderholme instances are not continuations of the main storyline; BHS has stated that Wonderholme was intended to be more amicable to newer and less dedicated players.

Channelworks(153 Item Level): Level 60, 3-man dungeon.
Shattered Fleet(153 Item Level): Level 60, 5-man dungeon.
Kezzel’s Gorge(153 Item Level): Level 60, 7-man raid.
Wonderholme(155 Item Level): Normal Mode, 10-man raid.
Wonderholme(159 Item Level): Hard Mode, 10-man raid.
Balder’s Temple: Level 60 Solo Mode, 5-man dungeon.
Removed Dungeons
Balder’s Temple: Level 60 Hard Mode, REMOVED.
Fane of Kaprima: Level 60 Normal Mode, REMOVED.
Fane of Kaprima: Level 60 Hard Mode, REMOVED.
Argon Corpus: Level 60 Hard Mode, REMOVED.

Tera Online Wounded World Update

The Wounded World Update added a number of new dungeons, included a new end-game raid called “Rift’s Edge” where the raid fights a number of flower and bug-themed bosses. The Wounded World instances are sidequests rather than continuation of the main storyline.

Ghillieglade: Level 60, 1-man dungeon.
Lakan’s Prison: Level 60, 5-man dungeon.
The Abscess: Level 60 Normal Mode, 7-man raid.
Rift’s Edge: Level 60 Normal Mode, 10-man raid.
Rift’s Edge: Level 60 Hard Mode, 10-man raid.

The Abscess (Hard Mode) was introduced in the Korean and Japanese version of TERA in a separate patch, but in NA was released with the other dungeon in the Wounded World update. The dungeon was meant to be analogous to Manaya’s Core – a difficult end-game dungeon that requires considerable practice to reliably complete, dropping some of the best equipment in the game. While the bosses are similar to the Abscess 7-man raid, the mechanics are heavily modified and damage greatly increased.

The Abscess: Level 60 Hard Mode, 5-man dungeon.

Tera Online Level 65 Expansion

A new expansion was released for the Korean version of TERA. In addition to adding and updating in-game features, the expansion added a number of new instances to the game. Enmasse Entertainment announced that these dungeons will be published in the NA version of TERA ‘by the end of the year [2014]’.

TERA has been met with generally favorable reviews, citing the action-based gameplay, huge and widely varied seamless world, the exciting and recurring BAM fights, the ease of using the game’s auction house (called the Trade Broker) and lush, detailed graphics as the game’s high points. The option of using a console controller also provided much satisfaction for players that wanted to play an MMORPG without relying on a keyboard and mouse. Criticism is directed at the game’s generic collect/kill/rendezvous quest grind to level up, with some quests backtracking simply to talk to the same NPC. Player killing is commonly done in the Open World and has been met with a lot of praise due to the freedom and constant action it can bring to daily questing and traveling. Critics have targeted the Nexus Wars feature as a blatant rip-off of Rift’s system.

In March 2013, after switching to a free-to-play business model, the game passed 1.4 million registered accounts.

Trade secret civil actions

In 2007, NCsoft filed a complaint to South Korean gosu gamer authorities and brought a civil action for damages and an injunction to Bluehole. The Bluehole founders and employees, formerly employed under NCsoft and working on the Lineage 3 development team, were convicted by a Korean criminal court for the theft of valuable trade secrets from NCsoft in 2009. In 2010, a Korean civil court held these individuals, along with Bluehole, liable for misappropriation of trade secrets, awarding NCsoft about $2 million in damages and issuing an injunction against utilizing trade secrets for monetary gain. The damages were later reversed by an appellate court, but the injunction remained in place. Both the criminal convictions and civil judgement are presently pending on appeal before Korea’s highest court. Despite the injunction, Bluehole developed and released TERA in South Korea.

On January 9, 2012, NCsoft filed a civil action in the United States against Bluehole and its U.S. subsidiary En Masse. NCsoft seeks a preliminary and permanent injunction prohibiting the launch of TERA in the United States, or damages for the substantial harm that the launch will cause NCsoft. They assert claims for copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of confidence, unfair competition, and unjust enrichment under the laws of the state of New York.

On April 18, 2012 En Masse Entertainment announced they were found not guilty in the Korean civil actions. However, three employees were found guilty.

Dragon Nest MMO Level 70 Artillery-Sentinel Guide – Skills Tree Build

Dragon Nest MMO Level 70 Artillery-Sentinel Guide – Skills Tree Build

Hello Dragon Nest Players,

Today in this post you can learn how to play as Artillery or Sentinel in Dragon Nest MMO.

So lets get started!!!

Dragon Nest MMO Artillery/Sentinel Skills:

Tracking Arrow EX – Adds another 4 arrows which now increases the amount of hits you can get on a target up to 20 instead of the usual 16 hits. The super armor breakage of the skill is equally painful to the normal skill.

Magical Attack Mastery – It just increases your magical attack by 10% permanently.

Arrow Shower builds are completely nullified by now since at the level 70 cap most of the servers have removed the bug caused by Magical Breeze. Having a ACS and Tracking Arrow combo would be better since with the EX Tracking Arrows damage is once again enhanced.

Hybrid 70 will the first and the remaining builds will talk about the changes I have made from the hybrid build.

As usual like I said the skill build is only used as a guide and there is no need to follow it completely.

Dragon Nest MMO Artillery/Sentinel Hybrid Skill Build:

Changes made:

Multi Shot is completely removed.
Twin Shot is at level 22.
Most of the magic tree skill are all added to level 16 or 11 to get the max potential damage.
Stun Shot and Ankle Shot is added for PvP uses.

Dragon Nest MMO Bow Master Skill Tree

Dragon Nest MMO Artillery/Sentinel Pure PvE Skill Build:

Changes made:

The only difference for this build to the hybrid is just that Ankle Shot, Stun Shot is removed.
With removal of the two skills, Spiritual Excel is now added to level 4.
