Today — in addition to offering 50% off on Steam… nobody else is on sale there, right? — the team launched the Pitch Black update, which adds a new map, new missions, a new boss, more skills, a new soundtrack and boosts the game’s visuals a bit. It’s still in Early Access, of course, but it’s really great to see a small, committed developer get behind its game like this. User reviews (after 400+) are still “Very Positive” and the team is turning its focus to adding single-player content in the new year. For now, it’s a great tactical co-op game, offering 8 players some ridiculously hardcore combat against all manner of aliens/Martian monsters. | Magicka Wizard Wars: Private Matches Available Posted: 18 Dec 2014 03:10 PM PST Paradox Interactive and Paradox North today came to an understanding with players of Magicka: Wizard Wars, the Spellcasting Action PvP take on the questionably ethical Magicka universe. Starting today, Wizard Wars players can set up custom games, including the ability to set password-protected matches where only their friends will be subjected to their fiery electrified death rays. Players can also arrange matches between teams of 3v3, 4v2, 1v1, or every other combination of wizards that they can fathom. Paradox also understands that while spellcasting is a fun activity for responsible wizards, some magic enthusiasts would prefer to observe from a safe distance, behind magic-proof glass. Magicka: Wizard Wars now also includes a Spectator Mode, allowing intrigued fans to engage in sideline viewing, in either follow-mode or free-controlled camera – whatever they enjoy the most. | Warface: Ambush Co-op Map Available Posted: 18 Dec 2014 03:09 PM PST Warface players can now delve deeper into Blackwood’s Siberian stronghold as the latest map in a new winter setting arrives today. The second level in the Operation Cold Peak update, “Ambush” challenges teams to storm a ruined castle and then hold strong when their mission turns out to be a deadly trap. With the enemy closing in, players will have to risk it all as they work together to build defenses around their position whilst holding off wave after wave of attackers. If they do make it out of the castle in one piece, the appearance of a menacing Blackwood helicopter on the horizon will initiate the next nerve-racking showdown. Team Warface is cornered, massively outnumbered, and a long way from home – but in the midst of these snow-bound mountains, it is perhaps Mother Nature that will spring the ultimate surprise. Ambush follows on from the “Spearhead” map in Operation Cold Peak – a new string of missions that brings winter to Warface and provides the starkest of tests for experienced players. Also coming to Warface as part of today’s update is a sackful of festive content and a series of special gifts for players. Every day between now and December 25th, players who log in to Warface will find their inventories boosted with everything from bonus Warface Dollars to quirky Christmas outfits and Yuletide weapons. The Imperial Fists Expansion unlocks the Imperial Fists Chapter and brings 15 new unique story missions and 20 flash missions for players to conquer in Space Hulk: Ascension. Based on the best-selling board game set within the Warhammer 40,000 universe, S pace Hulk: Ascension, is a 3D digital turn based strategy game, that features reworked mechanics and a host of new features, including RPG progression mechanics, new Genestealer variations, new rules, and mission structures. | Dragon Atlas v1.1 Now Available Posted: 18 Dec 2014 03:02 PM PST Christmas has come early in the land of Ymir. Dragon will receive a major update this December 18th. This update makes training and upgrading your dragons easier than ever. Mercenary skill cooldowns will be shortened and the wending machine will be improved. Version 1.1 also brings improvements to PvP and the Arena Rankings. For new players, Rookie Progress has been further optimized to make the game’s beginning easier to understand for new comers.
