You should consider getting Desktop Dungeons at half price

Posted: 13 May 2014 03:00 PM PDT

My original intention was to inform you that Desktop Dungeons is $7.49 this week on Steam until Friday morning, and that you should play it because it's real good. Hard as hell, but good.

That was until I noticed another game I'd wholly recommend, The Binding of Isaac, is on sale for $0.99 right now. Even with the greatly expanded BoI: Rebirth on the horizon, you'd do well to play the original version. That's countless hours of misery/enjoyment in exchange for a dollar.

Also, Yager's memorable Spec Ops: The Line is vying for our attention with a 75 percent off sale happening now. (80 percent off if you're okay with buying through Green Man Gaming.)

Tuesday Newsday: Sunset Overdrive, Xbox One for $399, Pokémon, Snyder's Batman & H.R. Giger

Posted: 13 May 2014 02:30 PM PDT

It’s been quite a busy week of news, and here’s Max to shout moistly about it.

Gamers who are short a hundred bucks got some great news this morning with the announcement of an Xbox One sans Kinect, for a somewhat reasonable $399, coming June 9th. Sunset Overdrive has been revealed properly, and hot snacks, it looks like a good time. Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire are getting the 3DS treatment, Never Alone looks really lovely, and a new Unreal Tournament could be quite a lot of fun, especially for free. Dying Light and the console version of Elder Scrolls Online are being delayed. We get our first look at Zak Snyder’s Batman and Batmobile, and H.R. Giger has gone to that great big derelict spacecraft in the sky.

Xbox One interface will be updated now that Kinect is being ditched

Posted: 13 May 2014 02:00 PM PDT

The big story of the day is how Microsoft will be selling the Xbox One without the Kinect starting this June. Good! But what about the user interface? The Xbox One's UI was designed to be "best" used with Kinect, and thankfully Microsoft will be addressing this matter.

"We do want to find ways to give you some of those shortcuts and make some of the things that we have with Kinect easier with the controller," Xbox's marketing lead Yusuf Mehdi told Engadget. "You can expect to see us do a bunch of things over the coming months to make the experience easier and easier, even if you don't have a Kinect."

All I want is auto-sign-in by default. It's really annoying having to sign-in into my one account every single time I turn on the Xbox One. Which isn't often, but you know what I mean.

The Xbox One price drop isn't just to boost sales, says Microsoft [Engadget]

Here's a trailer to remind you Soul Sacrifice Delta launched today

Posted: 13 May 2014 01:00 PM PDT

I was never able to really get into Soul Sacrifice when I played it around this time last year, which probably had something to do with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate still getting plenty of attention from me at that point in time. However, lots of people liked it and it sold pretty well in Japan and the west, so a sequel didn't seem unlikely.

After being announced this past fall, the digital only Soul Sacrifice Delta makes its way onto the PS Vita today. You read that right; Delta is only available on the PlayStation Network store for $35.99. The trailer looks pretty crazy and has me wondering that I missed out on a lot by not giving the game its due last year, so I'll probably check out this pseudo-sequel. New stuff to play on the Vita is always good, right?

Xbox Live Gold still needed for free-to-play games, MMOs

Posted: 13 May 2014 12:30 PM PDT

As of next month, Xbox 360 and Xbox One entertainment apps like Netflix, Hulu Plus, HBO Go, and Twitch will no longer require a paid Xbox Live Gold membership. It's been a long time coming, but the decision is good to see nonetheless. Now, while we're on the subject of annoying policies, what's up with subscription-based MMOs and "free"-to-play games requiring Gold?

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer told Joystiq there's no news on that front. "Right now we haven't changed the policy on MMOs and free-to-play games," he said. Removing apps from behind the Xbox Live paywall "was really about going as fast as we could on the things that we completely controlled." As for games, there are "engineering constraints, policy constraints, and partner constraints" to consider, according to Spencer.

Constraints that can (and should!) be worked around. Like the soon-to-be-resolved app situation, it's never too late. I'm sure companies like Bethesda and Wargaming would agree.

Farts 'N' Crafts: The Witcher 3 and warheads candy

Posted: 13 May 2014 12:00 PM PDT

This week, I stop mucking around with condiments, pasta, and watercolors and just do a good old-fashioned drawing. The subject? Geralt of Rivia, The White Wolf, star of The Witcher books and games.

While drawing, I'm asked stupid questions by Bill Zoeker, who doesn't know anything about Witchers. Also, we eat very sour candies.

Today is the anniversary of the best Super Nintendo game of all time

Posted: 13 May 2014 11:30 AM PDT

18 years ago today, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was released in North America (though if you want to get really technically the game was first released in Japan on March 9, 1996).

Normally I don't really keep up with game anniversaries, but I had to make a special note of it this time as a local news station in Dothan, Alabama actually made a special mention of it in their programming. Totally random, yet pretty cool this happened at all.

Super Mario RPG holds a really special place in my nostalgia boner, and I consider it one of my favorite games of all time.

PS Vita is getting a cool-looking twin-stick shooter

Posted: 13 May 2014 11:00 AM PDT

More twin-stick shooters, particularly ones releasing for PS Vita, are a terrific thing to see. 2011's Scoregasm returns this year with a sequel of sorts, Son of Scoregasm, that "in essence is a refinement of that game, taking the best bits and improving the rest." It'll be out first on Vita, with Windows, Mac, and Linux versions to follow in the coming months.

If you're wondering about the pulse attack used to clear bullets in the footage above, here's the interesting part: it can turn enemies into multiplier tokens. But if you wipe out too many foes with your pulse blast, there won't be anything left to shoot for points. Interesting design.

Having never played the original Scoregasm, I'm liking the look of this new version. Reading up on Charlie's Games also brought me back to an older project, Space Phallus, a shoot-'em-up about a disembodied head of a dog fighting an army of "evil space penises." Hahaha.

Dragon Age: Inquisition has a $170 collector's edition

Posted: 13 May 2014 10:30 AM PDT

For the Dragon Age fan who needs more stuff in their life, there's the collector's edition of Inquisition to consider. Or should I say the "Dragon Age Inquisition Inquisitor's Edition," to be precise. It's really called that, according to GameStop. And it's really priced at $169.99.

For the money, you're getting a bunch of items: a special case wrapped in faux reptile skin, a cloth map of Thedas, tarot cards, a full-scale six-piece lock-pick set (okay, this is rad), map markers, a badge, coins, a quill and inkpot, a 40-page inquisitor's journal, and the game in a steel book.

Still. $169.99. I quite like the look of the lock-pick kit, but you'd need to be a superfan to justify that cost. Find a higher-res image of the collector's edition spread below.

Everything you need to know about Watch Dogs in nine minutes

Posted: 13 May 2014 10:00 AM PDT

We're officially two weeks away from the release of Ubisoft's first major AAA launch of the year with Watch Dogs. We've been bombarded with screens, trailers, and so many different collector's editions. So I'm glad the game is finally nearing release, if only because I'm tired of the media barrage.

At this point I just want to play it. All this pre-hype is killing my hype! Of course, if you're still hyped up then you should watch this nine-minute video giving you the 101 on what to expect out of the game.

Rockstar has a 'next-gen' project in the works for this fiscal year

Posted: 13 May 2014 09:45 AM PDT

During its fourth-quarter fiscal 2014 earnings call to investors, Take-Two Interactive said it has more than 10 titles in development for this new console generation. What's more, Rockstar Games is working on a new project for this fiscal year (meaning it'll release in March 2015 or before).

What could the game be? Well, E3 isn't too far off and we'll likely hear before long, but I can't see this being anything other than Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 (and hopefully PC too) given the timing. And even if this specific tease is for something else, at 33 million copies of GTA V shipped to retailers and counting, those ports have got to be in the pipeline.

Akiba's Trip 2 acquires a flashy PlayStation 4 trailer

Posted: 13 May 2014 09:30 AM PDT

Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed is a game where you, erm, beat the clothes of vampires. You see, their skin is weak to sunlight, so forcibly removing their clothes makes perfect sense actually.

Earlier this year, XSEED revealed plans to publish the PlayStation 3 and Vita brawler in North America this summer. The localization house says Undead & Undressed is its largest voice-over project to date, as nearly 10,000 lines of dialogue were recorded for the English-language release.

Meanwhile in Japan, Acquire is developing a PlayStation 4 version of the title, which will launch on July 3. No word on whether XSEED has designs to bring that rendition stateside, though.

Capcom migrating some titles over to a new online service

Posted: 13 May 2014 09:15 AM PDT

GameSpy Technology is shutting down on May 31. We've seen some companies respond to this, stating that they'll fix their old titles so they live on, or straight up just abandon them. Capcom has responded, and they'll be migrating some titles over to a new online multiplayer service.

Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online Edition and Marvel vs Capcom Origins are already up and running on a new service. Capcom is in the process of migrating over Lost Planet 3, because they seriously think people are still playing it online. I actually forgot it had any online features. Anyway, the switch over will force the leaderboards and play stats to be reset.

Age of Booty and Flock!, however, will both be abandoned. There's no plans to update or migrate either title. They can still both be purchased and play fine on their own, but the online multiplayer or level editing sharing features won't work.

Among the Sleep crawls to PS4, Project Morpheus

Posted: 13 May 2014 09:00 AM PDT

Among the Sleep is creeping and crawling to PlayStation 4, Norwegian developer Krillbite Studio revealed today. The toddler-themed horror game will also feature support for Sony's virtual reality headset, Project Morpheus, CEO Ole Andreas Jordet confirmed.

The title's premise, which follows a two-year-old child's harrowing journey through a haunted house, certainly won over Kickstarter patrons, who successfully funded the then-PC exclusive project to the tune of $248,358.

Krillbite says Among the Sleep will be released "in the not-so-distant future," for those of you with a penchant for vague statements. Until then, why not try the free playable alpha? You can find that here.

Grand Theft Auto V ships more than 33 million units

Posted: 13 May 2014 08:45 AM PDT

Grand Theft Auto V made $1 billion in the first three days it was released. Impressive, but we were never told how many copies of the game were moved. Today's fiscal year 2014 report from Take-Two finally sheds some light on that bit of info.

"Grand Theft Auto V was the best-selling console video game of 2013 in North America, Latin America and Europe combined. To date, Grand Theft Auto V has sold-in more than 33 million units."

Impressive. Now how about some story add-on content, Rockstar?

Okay Sunset Overdrive, you have my attention

Posted: 13 May 2014 08:30 AM PDT

So I probably was the only one on this planet that wasn't hyped on Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive. Last time I got excited for one of their games, well, you know what happened.

Of course it's obvious Insomniac learned from their mistakes, and Sunset Overdrive seems to channel the creativity that the studio has been known for. Still, if there's one thing I've learned doing this job for almost a decade now, it's that I need to keep my feelings in check until I actually get my hands on the game itself.

This new video doesn't have much in the way of new info, but it's nice to hear some stories from the developers behind the game including Ted Price.

Playing catch up: It's about time the Xbox One dropped the Kinect

Posted: 13 May 2014 08:00 AM PDT

The official line on the Kinect-free Xbox One model will be about choice. Giving consumers choices. This is a lie, of course. More blatant than, "As excited as we are about the new Xbox One option, clearly if you use Xbox One with Kinect, you have the best experience," which is easily internalized. Microsoft had already tried to assuage early adopters and entice fence sitters when it firmly announced, "no plans" for a Kinect-free Xbox One less than three months ago.

But here we are. And you are free to be bitter in the face of this if you picked up an Xbox One on this assurance (maybe, too, you learned something). Still, it's the right decision for Microsoft, whose nebulous 5 million consoles shipped doesn't touch Sony's over 7 million sold.

Metro studio 4A Games moving headquarters out of Ukraine

Posted: 13 May 2014 07:45 AM PDT

Metro: Last Light developer 4A Games is in the process of opening a second studio on the island nation of Malta. The new location will serve as the company's headquarters moving forward, while the existing studio in Kiev, Ukraine continues operations.

"By basing our new headquarters in Malta, a member state of the EU, 4A Games will be able to better compete on the international stage" said Dean Sharpe, 4A Games' CEO and head of business development. "Malta offers fantastic incentives for game development, and we are confident 4A Games will be able to attract the very best talent from Ukraine, Malta and beyond."

Several key members of the Kiev office, including creative director and co-founder Andrew Prokhorov, and CTO Oles Shishkovstov; will relocate to the Mediterranean isle to oversee the new enterprise.

"This marks the start of a new chapter for 4A Games," said Prokhorov. "We are proud of our achievements as a young studio, and humbled by the response to our output so far. The team is looking forward to this new adventure."

It seems the developer is eager to put distance between itself and the ongoing violence and political turmoil in Ukraine. The situation must be unimaginably difficult for all those involved, as the company continues work on unannounced projects amidst the upheaval.

Iwata: A single game can turn a system around

Posted: 13 May 2014 07:30 AM PDT

During an investor Q&A, Nintendo president and CEO Satoru Iwata was asked if the company will release its next game hardware earlier than expected given the way things are going for the Wii U.

"I of course believe that launching new hardware will not produce good results unless we first make sure that those who have already purchased our platforms are satisfied," he said. "We will continue to work hard to ensure that consumers who already own our platforms are satisfied, and make sure that people will continue to see great value in our software, but I would like to say that we are preparing for our next hardware system, and in fact, we already have a clear idea to some extent about the direction our next hardware is going to take."

We'll see what happens once Mario Kart 8 and Super Smash Bros. are out this year. Elsewhere in the Q&A, Iwata said "The fate of a video game system is often influenced greatly by the introduction of a single title. As many of you probably remember, before the release of the Pokémon game, Game Boy had been showing slow growth, and many people wondered whether it was the end of Game Boy. But the Pokémon game singlehandedly changed the landscape of the system, which then started to show the strongest sales in the lifecycle of the system."

You know, a non-spinoff Pokémon game for Wii U would sure hit the spot for a lot of us. As a recent system owner, I'm okay with the notion that most of the compelling software for the system is going to come from Nintendo itself, not third-parties -- that was my expectation going in. I'm hopeful this will be an E3 full of pleasant surprises.

Sony executives reportedly taking a 50% cut in annual pay

Posted: 13 May 2014 07:15 AM PDT

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sony CEO Kaz Hirai, along with other executives at Sony, will be forgoing their bonuses, taking up to a 50% cut in annual pay. This news comes ahead of Sony's fiscal year taking place tomorrow, where the company is expected to be reporting a net loss of 130 billion yen ($1.3 billion).

Sony is performing well in regards to the PlayStation 4, their new Walkman music players, and 4K TVs, but all the growth in these areas aren't enough to fix Sony's bottom line. Some investors believe the worst will be over soon as Sony sells off its PC business and sets up their TV business as a separate unit.

Watch Dogs is 900p on PlayStation 4, 792p on Xbox One

Posted: 13 May 2014 07:00 AM PDT

After some misinformation went out stating that Watch Dogs would be 1080p on the PlayStation 4, the Ubisoft blog has finally confirmed the real resolutions. It will be 900p on the PlayStation 4, and 792p on the Xbox One. Both versions will run at 30 frames-per-second.

“Resolution is a number, just like framerate is a number. All those numbers are valid aspects of making games,” creative director Jonathan Morin stated, explaining that it's more important to deliver an amazing experience over pushing more pixels onto the screen.

“But you make choices about the experience you want to deliver. In our case, dynamism is everything. Exploration and expression are everything. You want to have a steady framerate, but you want to have dynamism at the core of the experience. The same goes with resolution. People tend to look at corridor shooters, for example, where there’s a corridor and all the effects are on and it’s unbelievable, and they forget that if you apply those same global effects to an open city with people around and potential car crashes and guys in multiplayer showing up without warning, the same effect is applied to a lot of dynamic elements that are happening in every frame. So it becomes magnified in cost.”

Deep Silver kicks off two weeks of Humble Daily Bundles

Posted: 13 May 2014 06:45 AM PDT

Over the next two weeks, Humble Bundle will be running 24-hour deals and the promotion kicks off this morning with a repeat of the Humble Deep Silver Bundle. It was a pretty good compilation originally, and it's back with updated (see: better) pricing.

You can still pay what you want for the basic lineup, which includes Saints Row 2, Saints Row: The Third, Risen 2: Dark Waters, and Sacred 2: Gold Edition. The next tier up, obtainable by paying above the average, adds Saints Row: The Third - The Full DLC Package, Metro 2033, Dead Island: Game of the Year Edition, Risen, and Sacred Citadel. Lastly, by paying $9 or more, you'll also get Dead Island: Riptide - Complete Edition. This deal ends at 11:00am tomorrow.

It's gotten to the point where I'm no longer paying full price for PC games. I'm okay with this!

Final Fantasy XIV director to answer fan questions on patch 2.23

Posted: 13 May 2014 06:30 AM PDT

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is still operating on its major update schedule before a full expansion drops, and the most anticipated update currently is patch 2.3. It's expected to bring about new dungeons (Hullbreaker Isle is mentioned, as are hard mode versions of Tam-Tara Deepcroft and Stone Vigil.), daily hunts, Item Desynthesis, a new boss fight with Ramuh, and additional Zodiac weapon quests (coming directly beforehand with patch 2.28).

Director Yoshi-P (Naoki Yoshida) will deliver a letter from the producer address on May 24th at 4:00 AM PST to answer some questions on the upcoming content. I'm mostly excited about Ramuh, and potential Extreme Mode remixed boss fights.

Review: The Walking Dead Season 2: In Harm's Way

Posted: 13 May 2014 06:00 AM PDT

Season two of The Walking Dead is off to a really great start so far. Unchained from the binds of the father-daughter tale of season one, Clementine is on her own, stuck between various factions, groups, and relationships.

Seeing the end of the world from her eyes has made for a significantly different season, and the last episode raised the stakes considerably. It's amazing that Telltale can keep it going yet again.

Sunset Overdrive will have online co-op

Posted: 13 May 2014 05:30 AM PDT

Sunset Overdrive is coming later this year on the Xbox One, and we've been getting a ton of details in the past week. Insomniac Games has spilled the beans on multiplayer, noting that although the campaign will not be playable with other players, there will be online co-op.

Insomniac also says that there will be lots more content to unlock, and tons of updates are planned. I'm loving that this game basically sounds like the polar opposite of Fuse.

In case you haven't heard, there's a fan-mod out there that combines gameplay from the original Doom with classic Mega Man goodness. Pretty much every classic character is playable, from Mega Man himself to rival Bass, to most of the Robot Master cast.

Version 4 is set to drop this weekend, including reworked classic stages like Bomb Man, new weapons, new items, and additional maps. There's also a new campaign. I can't think of a better (free) way to spend your weekend!

Games with Gold coming to Xbox One, June titles revealed

Posted: 13 May 2014 04:30 AM PDT

Microsoft is coming up on the one-year anniversary of its Games with Gold program in which Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download two free games per month on Xbox 360 to own even if their membership lapses. In June, there will be three freebies: Dark Souls, Charlie Murder, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition. Not a bad selection!

More interestingly, the company is talking about its plans for Xbox One. Taking a cue from PlayStation Plus (they listened!), on Xbox One, the program will require an active Xbox Live Gold subscription in order to continue playing any free games you've downloaded. The first featured titles will be Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and Halo: Spartan Assault in June.

And, finally, entertainment apps including Netflix and Hulu Plus are being set free in -- you guessed it -- June and will no longer require Gold on Xbox 360 and Xbox One. Between this and the Kinectless Xbox One announcement, it's been a good day for Xbox. Progress.

Microsoft to begin selling Xbox One without Kinect on June 9

Posted: 13 May 2014 03:45 AM PDT

In a post on Xbox.com this morning, Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has announced that Microsoft will begin selling Xbox One without the flagship motion-sensing, voice-controlled device Kinect. This new option brings Xbox One's price down to $399, which is right in line with Sony's PlayStation 4.

In the beginning, it was planned that Xbox One and Kinect would be inseparable. Later, Microsoft confirmed that Xbox One would be able to function without the peripheral. Now, the console will be sold without Kinect, though Spencer adds in the blog post that it "remains an important part of our vision." In the video that accompanies the post, Yusuf Mehdi emphasizes the utility of Kinect, saying "As excited as we are about the new Xbox One option, clearly if you use Xbox One with Kinect, you have the best experience."

The Kinect-free Xbox One will go on sale starting on June 9. For those who buy the Xbox One without Kinect and later decide that they want the upgrade, a standalone Xbox One Kinect will be made available this fall.

3DS gets a new system update centered around parental controls

Posted: 13 May 2014 03:30 AM PDT

If you boot up your 3DS today you'll find a new system update, but it's not all that exciting -- unless you're a parent! According to Nintendo, update 7.2.0-17 will add new functionaity to the system's parental controls, including the power to register a parental email address that allows them to send themselves PINs.

Of course, the usual "system stability and minor adjustments" applies to this update, because why not? So yeah, this is a thing if you're a parent.

Driveclub will have microtransactions, because of course it will

Posted: 13 May 2014 03:00 AM PDT

Remember that one conference where that guy was lovingly talking about how realistic Driveclub was, down to the real looking leather on the seats? That's how I imagine executives talking about microtransactions. There's probably some truth to that statement too, as microtransactions have been confirmed for DriveClub. Director Paul Rustchynsky states, "It’s been a hot topic of late inside gaming, and we’ve been very keen to take on board the feedback from gamers and make sure we don’t upset anyone."

He goes on to explain, "If you want to unlock a car immediately, you can pay to unlock that car straight away but it’s not a consumable microtransaction. We don’t let people buy Fame, for example and spend lots and lots. The idea is if you want to shortcut things you can do – it’s identical to what we did in Motorstorm RC. So if you played that, you know what we’re doing here"

Nordic Games confirms Joe Mad's statements that Darksiders isn't dead

Posted: 13 May 2014 02:00 AM PDT

Yesterday, artist and designer Joe Madureira claimed that Darksiders wasn't dead, and that its new publisher had been in the process of working on the third game. Nordic Games has since responded to the statement, nothing, "With regards to Darksiders 3: of course we’ve always been busy in the background, talking to a lot of former team members about a continuation of the series, but we are not ready to announce anything officially. Joe Madureira is spot on in saying that DS is not dead and we are committed, though.”

They also elaborate a bit more, stating, "“Before we can say something about the ‘how’ and ‘when’ of publishing/financing the sequel is concerned, we are still busy in properly figuring out the ‘who’ part of this large-scale project. All I can say is that we can and will not settle for second-best solutions in the case of Darksiders.”

So yeah, if they can actually get this project off the ground I'm beyond excited. I think the Darksiders games have been getting better with each iteration, and I want to see what a third game would end up like.

Red Dead Redemption PC release could be a thing

Posted: 13 May 2014 01:00 AM PDT

For those of you holding out hope for a PC release of Red Dead Redemption, a new listing has been found on the Windows Compatibility website. The way is the site works is Microsoft or another party adds software to the database themselves to test how well a game gels with Windows.

Microsoft has since noted that the listing is a "mistake," but that could have easily been code for "it was put up too early."

CoroCoro has revealed a new Pokemon game called 1000 Pokemon and the Thieves. Billed as a 3DS download, it'll be a free game that essentially functions as a movie tie-in for Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. It'll drop on June 5th and feature StreetPass functionality.

There's no word on an international release yet, but more info is coming on May 15th.

Apparently, Tomodachi Life is for little girls

Posted: 12 May 2014 09:00 PM PDT

Still not sure if you're going to pick up Tomodachi Life? That Nintendo Direct video really sold it to me, so I recommend you watch that if you need further convincing. Or do you prefer cringeworthy trailers for tweens? If that's more your style, you'll definitely dig the latest Tomodachi Life trailer above.

Two little girls have an animated conversation about the game, rap battles, and all the "whoa, cool!" things you can do within it. I get the attempt at drawing in a younger audience, but this might be one of the worst commercials I've seen in quite some time. It's so fun to make fun of, though. I shall continue to do so for the weeks to come, lamenting the fact that Nintendo really just has no idea how to market toward, well, anyone.

And I can't wait to play this game. Seriously.

Club Nintendo physical rewards return with sweet Mario and Luigi pouches

Posted: 12 May 2014 07:00 PM PDT

If you've been saving up your precious coins at Club Nintendo for some sweet physical rewards since the reward redemption area on the official Club Nintendo page was undergoing renovations, you're in luck. The physical goodies are back, with awesome Mario and Luigi pouches, a Pikmin bag, and a Yoshi T-shirt.

Up for grabs are also downloadable titles Super Metroid, 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure, Brain Age Express: Arts and Letters, and Mario Kart 64. All of these games will be available until June 8, so if you see something you like and don't have enough coins for a physical reward that's worth your while, consider adding a new game to your backlog. Like I do. I just toss game after game onto it like I think there's some magical stretch of 30 years where I'll eventually have time for them all. That's never going to happen.

Glean some interesting facts about Skyrim from this Did You Know Gaming? video

I don't watch too many YouTube video series, but I quite enjoy some of the facts Did You Know Gaming? serves up. Sometimes I actually walk away having learned a little something. I ended up liking the latest entry to the DYKG series about Skyrim, and I surmise you all might as well. Unless, of course, you already know all this stuff. In that case, I will feel stupid. And useless. And I will need a pep talk from all of you in the comment section.

A lot of the facts here seem to basically point back to the fact that, obviously, Skyrim is connected to the rest of the Elder Scrolls games. Well, duh. But there's still some cool little tidbits within the seven-minute video if you want to take the time to watch. I recommend the Pokémon videos as well. They're good stuff.
