Keep tabs on games with Steam's Recently Updated section Posted: 07 Feb 2014 02:00 PM PST Valve has added a Recently Updated page to Steam, displaying "new and interesting updates, features, and/or content additions" to games. Take a look for yourself. The intent here is to give developers another platform from which to communicate with their audiences. It's got the added benefit of showing would-be players which games are seeing continued, worthwhile support. Scrolling through this section reminded me that I forgot to buy Desktop Dungeons, so there you go. My initial reaction was that in the wrong hands, the feed could be nothing but the same few frequently-updates titles, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
| Condoms included with inFamous pre-order in Italy Posted: 07 Feb 2014 01:00 PM PST GameStop Italy is offering a pre-order kit for inFamous Second Son that includes two cans of Red Bull and glow-in-the-dark condoms. Yes, really. In the words of Max Scoville, "Infamous: Second Skin, so you don't have a Second Son." And, honestly, this is a more useful pre-order bonus than in-game jackets for Delsin. | Monster Hunter 4, Dead Rising 3 did well for Capcom Posted: 07 Feb 2014 12:00 PM PST Capcom has reported its earnings for the nine months of fiscal year ending March 31, 2014 and the usual suspects are all represented. Monster Hunter 4 did extremely well for the company, selling four million units; Resident Evil: Revelations (or "Reverations," as Capcom calls it; yes, they're still making typos) pulled in 1.1 million sales; and Dead Rising 3 also broke a million. According to Capcom, the latter two games and Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies "basically achieved" projected sales. Even DuckTales: Remastered showed a "better-than-expected performance." But then we get to Lost Planet 3 and you can probably finish my sentence for me. Sales were "below expectations due in part to intensifying competition in the European and North American markets," which sure is one way of looking at it. While sales for this period increased to 75,221 million yen (a 3.5 percent jump from the same term last year), net income for Capcom was down 10.3 percent, to 5,957 million yen. |
Here's Inafune playing a bit of Mighty No. 9 Posted: 07 Feb 2014 11:00 AM PST Keiji Inafune spoke about Mighty No. 9 at the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas this week and showed off the design of the character Mighty No. 7 which, as you guys pointed out, doesn't at all look like Zero from the Mega Man franchise. Drawings are nice, but it's footage that really does it for me these days and some of that has gone public as well. Here's video of Inafune playing that early alpha build of Mighty No. 9 which we saw screenshots of not long ago. The game's basic action (shooting, dashing) is implemented but not a whole lot else. Still, it's a much more informative look at the game than those images were.
You can play Bionic Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla right now Posted: 07 Feb 2014 10:30 AM PST Bionic Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla. Give yourself a few seconds for that to sink in. He is a gorilla, who has been cybernetically altered to have chainsaws for arms and a pogo stick in place of his legs. If that is not the most awesome thing you have heard today, then you lead a much more exciting life than I do. Of course, Bionic Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla is coming to us via Adult Swim Games (because who else would be publishing it?), after being developed by Roger Barr, the same man responsible for Abobo's Big Adventure. As a bionic entity, the titular chainsaw pogo gorilla can actually have its parts swapped out Mr. Potatohead-style, resulting in a character that is no longer a Chainsaw Pogo Gorilla, but perhaps a Rainbow Cactus Beehive Robot. Yes please.
Posted: 07 Feb 2014 10:00 AM PST [This month's Dtoid Community Assignment will span three topics: the past, the present, and the future of gaming. Sound off on one, two, or all three!] This month's Cblog theme is all about taking look at the different eras of gaming and creating something personal to convey your thoughts about each. Well, the Dtoid community has some amazingly talented musicians among its ranks, so isn't it about time they started getting a bit more of the spotlight?! For this month's Musicians Wanted, I want all you music types to create something inspired by the state of gaming today. It can be an original piece inspired by your favorite current-gen games, a remix, compilation, or mash-up of some of your favorite pieces, or anything else you can think up! To participate, start a community blog and title it "The Present: [Your title here]". No topic is off the table, so don't feel like you're restricted to the ideas presented above! Throughout the month of February, Dtoid's new Cblog Manager and I will be keeping an eye on the Community Blogs and promoting your musical creations to the front page, so make your entries count! Have fun! I can't wait to see what you folks come up with.
Big Red Button lead talks Sonic Boom gameplay Posted: 07 Feb 2014 09:45 AM PST Sega made waves yesterday with their announcement of Sonic Boom -- which is a television series, a toy line, and a set of two games for the Wii U and 3DS. While Sanzaru Games at large wasn't on hand to discuss the 3DS iteration (nor was it shown), Bob Rafei of Big Red Button spoke to Destructoid and shined some light on what to expect gameplay wise. When asked how level transitions would be handled, Rafei stated, "it's more of a linear game with lots of little sandboxes, and not an open world. We want players to have a clear path to follow but the worlds will consist of multiple spokes and wheels, allowing for branching paths for more veteran players. But we wanted players who weren't as skilled to be able to follow the core path." Co-op was also confirmed in the form of four player support. Sonic Boom will also be more combat oriented than ever before, as Rafei noted that "it's not all about speed. We're also focusing on a hard hitting combat system, with major playstyle differences between the four characters." It makes perfect sense that Sonic Boom would follow a "miniature sandbox" route, given the fact that Rafei worked on Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter. The similarities between the two games strictly in terms of art is also hard to dismiss, as the first Jak and Daxter game and Sonic Boom both share a tropical island theme. Rafei also stated that some of the team worked on Ratchet & Clank as well, another influence I linked as soon as I saw the footage. It's strange that Sega would switch gears so soon after Lost World, and it's even stranger that they have confirmed that Sonic Boom will not be released in Japan at this current time. But with a pair of hungry western studios at the helm with everything to prove, I'm hoping Sonic Boom delivers.
Dungeon Keeper makes it harder to rate it lower than a 5 Posted: 07 Feb 2014 09:15 AM PST Dungeon Keeper is not good. It's a sleazy release that has been mostly skewered. It has a high rating in the Apple (4/5) and Android (4.5/5) app stores, however. On the Android side, trying to rate Dungeon Keeper any less than a 5 stops you from doing so and sends you to a feedback form, which plenty users undoubtedly don't want to bother with and end up not rating it at all. EA explained this design decision to Gamasutra. "We're always looking at new ways to gather player feedback so that we can continue to improve our games. The 'rate this app' feature in the Google Play version of Dungeon Keeper was designed to help us collect valuable feedback from players who don't feel the game is worth a top rating. We wanted to make it easier for more players to send us feedback directly from the game if they weren't having the best experience. Players can always continue to leave any rating they want on the Google Play store." Sneaky sneaky. EA had a great answer that sounds good, yet the system still undoubtedly inflates the user ratings. EA says Dungeon Keeper rating system makes it easier for players [Gamasutra]
More than 250,000 people have Gone Home Posted: 07 Feb 2014 09:00 AM PST The Fullbright Company has announced that its award-winning "story exploration" game Gone Home has sold more than 250,000 copies. Speaking to Joystiq, co-founder Steve Gaynor mentioned approximately 80 percent of those sales happened through Steam (as opposed to through the Humble Store on the game's official site). Nothing at all against Gone Home, but it's surprising to learn that it's been doing so well. I've always thought of it as a "game designer's game," one that wouldn't necessarily break out to find a substantial audience. Pretty cool to hear that over a quarter of a million people have played it, though -- that says good things about this industry. Gone Home finds 250K sales, most on Steam [Joystiq]
The sexiest, stupidest, stretchiest Sonic Boom fan art Posted: 07 Feb 2014 08:30 AM PST The Mario and company Sonic Boom redesign was great, but it was one of many wondrous fan compositions inspired by the redesign. Please post more in the comments. Please.
NaissanceE: a scary space station without any necromorphs Posted: 07 Feb 2014 08:15 AM PST Honestly, this might be more scary than an average survival horror game. It is not even clear if NaissanceE is supposed to be a frightening experience, and that just makes it seem even scarier. At least, that is my reaction to the video above. Below is a more gameplay-focused trailer, which brings a bit more to light, as it were. At times, it evokes Antichamber's endless geometry, with a dash of Closure's light/dark mechanic thrown in. Some relatively simple puzzle platforming is shown, but that does not appear to be the focus. Described as an exploration game that takes place in a mysterious ancient structure, it definitely has an ominous feel to it that the mystery behind the locale is one best left uncovered. Adding to that mood is music by Pauline Oliveros, who has famously created some substantially creepy audio works. Whatever NaissanceE is, it will be releasing on February 13 on Steam, for $19.99.
Ska Studios puts out free game to protest Candy jerks Posted: 07 Feb 2014 08:00 AM PST After Candy Crush Saga developer King filed a trademark for the word "candy" as it pertains to videogames, indie developers struck back the only way they knew how -- by making indie games. Appropriately and rebelliously called Candy Jam, these devs are slapping together games that totally definitely aren't about candy if any attorney-lookin' fellas come around askin'. One of the teams to get in on the action is Ska Studios, most recently known for Charlie Murder and TIME VIKING!!!!!ANDSPACERAPTOR. Ska's game, Candy Kill: The Saga of Apple Bud is about healthy fruits as they try to symbolically dispose of sweets. The best part is that it's totally free. Go ahead and give it a try, along with some of the other developers' games. For great justice.
Check out this alpha footage of Velocity 2X Posted: 07 Feb 2014 07:45 AM PST A new trailer for Velocity 2X has been posted to PlayStation Blog, giving a little tease of the game's progress and showing off some slick, fast-paced gameplay. The accompanying post gives some insight into what Futurlab is working on, mostly related to visual effects, with the art team drawing inspiration from the aesthetic of the classic Flashback adventure game. That's not the only similarity to Flashback either, as you can see some of the game's running segments, new to Veolocity 2X, in which the player exits their ship and blasts through corridors in 2D platforming segments. I love the combination of these two gameplay styles, and it appears from the trailer that these segments should maintain the momentum of the game, albeit horizontally instead of vertically. I can totally see myself replaying stages of this over and over again to attempt perfect runs.
Friday Night Fights: Going for the gold Posted: 07 Feb 2014 07:30 AM PST I was originally going to go with a header image that showed how amazing the living conditions in Sochi are for the athletes and reporters, but then thought to myself, "Nah, it's bad enough they have to live like that for the next couple weeks, while trying to do their best for their countries", so I shopped Mr. Destructoids' head onto Shaun White. This was basically my morning in a nutshell. I also drank some coffee and listened to some really, really loud electronic music while writing this. Andy was right, this is the easiest job ever.
Come to our Double Dragon Neon Steam code giveaway party! Posted: 07 Feb 2014 07:15 AM PST Are you a bad enough dude to come watch me, Bill Zoeker, and our pal Blake Morse of Midnight City playing Double Dragon Neon for two hours? Because that's what we'll be doing at 2 PM Pacific Time today on the DTOID.TV Twitch channel, a mere forty-five minutes from this post going up. Well if not, BARF, because there is no knowledge that is not power, plus, we've got ten codes for the game to give away. Maybe more, if you're extra good. Also, there will be at least two Hawaiian shirts in attendance, and possibly drinks with umbrellas in them.
Transformers Universe no longer a MMO Posted: 07 Feb 2014 07:00 AM PST Jagex is transforming their direction for Transformers Universe. Originally it was planned as an MMO, but now the game will be a MOTA. A what? According to Jagex, MOTA stands for a Massively Online Tactical Action game. So it's a MOBA then? Okay. It's set to launch this summer, and you can sign-up for the beta on the official site. MOTA, as defined by Urban Dictionary by the way, is slang for marijuana and the name of a song by The Offspring.
Probably Archery definitely on Steam and Humble now Posted: 07 Feb 2014 06:45 AM PST Probably Archery, the self-proclaimed "most realistic archery simulator ever...probably," is available today, so you can put those William Tell skills to the test without endangering your little brother's life again. It's on both Steam and Humble for $8.99, a 25% discount over the regular price. The game's seen some changes as a result of its Greenlight campaign. According to Southeast Games, some of the least well-received content has been removed in favor of things like the china shop level. Also, there's a zombie soccer mode with pistols, which is definitely not archery.
GTA V on other platforms if 'that is where consumers are' Posted: 07 Feb 2014 06:30 AM PST There was no official word about Grand Theft Auto V coming to PC, much less PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, during Take-Two's earnings call. CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the possibility of such ports, of course -- these are investors after all -- and his response was: "If that is where consumers are, absolutely. But we wouldn't drive them there, we would just be there if they are there. That is why we have a companion app for our basketball title, NBA 2K Everywhere. It is wherever consumers want to be." Zelnick also said "It's really important that we have our labels [like Rockstar] make the marketing announcements. I know there's a good deal of heartburn among the financial press that I don't give more color. It's not for wanting to be coy, though." C'mon! 'We'll launch GTA on other platforms if that's where the consumers are' [MCV]
Less Massive: Ubi Reflections has a hand in The Division Posted: 07 Feb 2014 06:15 AM PST As it turns out, Tom Clancy's The Division won't be entirely the brain-child of Massive Entertainment. For a few months now, UK-based developer Ubisoft Reflections has been contributing to the open-world shooter, as reported by Develop. Ubisoft Reflections is perhaps most well-known for the 2011's surprisingly good Driver: San Francisco. The studio has also helped on several other Ubisoft titles such as Far Cry 3, Just Dance, and Watch Dogs. Reflections has assigned approximately 200 employees to The Division's cause. Pauline Jacquey, the developer's managing director, explained that "The root of the IP, the initial creative initiative, is absolutely and fully Massive's. The whole scope of the game is not fully locked, and we're participating in creating and enriching the IP." She went on to elaborate on Reflections' role by stating "We're working on all of the game's systems: main characters, enemies, RPG pillars, building Manhattan, online components, and so on." One thing that Jacquey stressed was that this co-development process did not arise as a result of troubles on Massive's end, like it may indicate with other publishers. Rather, Ubisoft has a tendency to eventually delegate work to several of its studios for many of its big-budget titles. Reflections co-developing Tom Clancy's The Division [Develop via Polygon]
| Tighten up those graphics: Deep Down delayed in Japan Posted: 07 Feb 2014 06:00 AM PST You know, I keep forgetting that Deep Down technically hasn't been announced for release outside of Japan. It's surely coming, though, and besides its reliance on a free-to-play model (I'd rather just pay up front, thanks) I'm quite looking forward to the dungeon crawler. Might be a bit of a wait, from the sound of it: the Japanese release has been pushed back. "I think we'll give full-fledged information to everyone after the summer, so you may have to wait for a little while beyond the launch [of PS4] on February 22nd," Kazunori Sugiura said to Dengeki Online, as translated by DualShockers. "Since we don't want to risk to be told 'This could have been done on PS3!' we want to finish a game that fully uses the PS4 hardware specs." Which is funny, because everything I've seen of Deep Down has looked, well, awesome. Or maybe the fire-breathing dragon tech demo isn't indicative of the rest of the game? Either way, I want Capcom to nail this -- taking more time out to do so is perfectly fine by me. PS4発売目前クリエイターアンケート! 第2回は、カプコンの小野義徳氏、コーエーテクモゲームスのシブサワ・コウ氏など、12名の回答を公開!! | Far Cry Classic coming to US, launch date revealed Posted: 07 Feb 2014 05:45 AM PST Ubisoft announced Far Cry Classic quite a while ago, but things quickly went quiet -- which is understandable, seeing as how most people were too focused on news coming out of E3 to really care too much. That changed once Ubisoft revealed around a month ago that Far Cry Classic would be launching in EMEA territories come February 12 -- the absence of a US date had some questioning whether or not it would be making its way to the States. That too has now changed, with Ubisoft today letting out that, yes, Far Cry Classic is coming to the US -- on February 11, as a matter of fact. So there you have it. Far Cry Classic will be available on both PSN and Xbox Live, and includes graphical enhancements along with a new user interface. Who's planning on picking this up? |
Watch Luffy, Kenshin, Goku battle in J-Stars Victory Vs Posted: 07 Feb 2014 05:30 AM PST Set to release in Japan on the PS3 and Vita in March 2014, J-Stars Victory Vs is a collection of some of the biggest names in anime. Compliments of Bandai Namco, we're getting a look at Kenshin, Goku, and Luffy in action. A ton of others have been confirmed so far, including Shishio Makoto, Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star), Jonathan Joestar (JoJo's Bizzare Adventure), Freeza, and Naruto. Given all of the licensing issues the odds of this getting localized are slim to none, but this is definitely a potential import situation for the PlayStation 3.
Dead Island: Epidemic accepting closed beta sign-ups now Posted: 07 Feb 2014 05:15 AM PST Deep Silver has announced that they are now accepting sign-ups for the closed beta of Dead Island: Extinction, the multiplayer online battle arena spin-off of the tropical zombie franchise. The actual start date has not been released, though it doesn't seem to matter too much, as Deep Silver says newly registered players will be able to join the existing alpha players prior to the launch of the closed beta. You can sign yourself up over at the game's official website. I have only one issue with this. They're calling the game a "ZOMBA," which is supposed to work out to "Zombie Online Multiplayer Battle Arena." We already have enough problems with genre definitions, thank you very much.
| Naughty Dog considering new IP, The Last of Us sequel Posted: 07 Feb 2014 05:00 AM PST After next week's single-player Left Behind DLC for The Last of Us releases, the team at Naughty Dog is due for a good mental break away from that universe. "Bruce Straley, the game director, and I have been doing this for over four years now," creative director and writer Neil Druckmann told Eurogamer. They have started brainstorming ideas for their next project. "To be honest, some of them are sequel ideas, and some of them are brand new IP -- we've spent the last few weeks brainstorming new IP," he said. "So we have to get some good steps and see... It's kind of like how we approached Left Behind. Can we tell people a story that's really worth telling, and that's not repeating itself? And if we can't, where can we get inspired -- what is something that's really going to challenge us, and push storytelling in this medium forward?" Going for a new IP brought us The Last of Us in the first place, so yeah -- do that, please. Especially since we've already got that new Uncharted for PS4 in the pipeline. | You can expect a Destiny beta this summer Posted: 07 Feb 2014 04:45 AM PST Activision hasn't exactly downplayed what its expectations for Bungie's Destiny are. Just yesterday during an earnings call, CEO Bobby Kotick proclaimed that he expects it to be "the best selling videogame in history." Ambitious, to say the least. One of the ways that Activision plans to build hype for Destiny is to launch a beta. During the same earnings call, Activision Publishing president Eric Hirshberg revealed that the company intends to hold this beta event sometime in the summer. To move copies ahead of time, the beta will be made available to those that pre-order the game. A large-scale public beta sounds like a pretty standard move considering what Activision's looking to accomplish. Apart from the whole "best selling game ever" thing, it expects Destiny to be its third billion dollar franchise. Getting people talking about it as much as possible isn't exactly a bad marketing strategy. Destiny beta due in 'summer' 2014, says Activision [CVG] |
| Telltale offers Wolf Among Us 360 Season Pass fix Posted: 07 Feb 2014 04:30 AM PST Telltale just released the second episode of The Wolf Among Us, and it's pretty great overall. But some Xbox 360 fans have been reporting issues in regards to the Season Pass -- specifically, the game prompts them to buy the episode again, even if they're accessing it from the in-game UI. This issue apparently stems from Xbox Live in general, and an error that has caused some DLC content to act up. To combat the problem, Telltale has partnered with Microsoft and messaged free codes for the second episode to all Xbox 360 Season Pass owners. So if you're one of the folks involved, go to Xbox.com or just check your console dashboard for the code until a real fix is implemented. | Free-to-play SoulCalibur game launching this spring Posted: 07 Feb 2014 04:00 AM PST Namco Bandai, wait that's not right; Bandai Namco has announced tha... -- actually, the name change doesn't take affect until April so I suppose Namco Bandai is still correct. Actually, maybe it's not becau... -- I CAN'T DEAL WITH THIS! Alright, we're doing this my way. Bamco Nandai has announced that SoulCalibur: Lost Swords, the company's upcoming free-to-play title, will be launching exclusively on the PlayStation 3 sometime this spring. I mean, it's not very specific but it's a bit more than the "2014" launch date they had given before, so they're getting there. Camno Danbai's Lost Swords has already drawn criticism from fans of the franchise for being a single-player only title that's expected to implement a sort of "play-time token" system where players pay real money in order to play a certain amount of matches in the game (similar to that of Tekken: Revolution). What's everyone thinking of this game so far? |
Marvelous AQL is teasing a new project Posted: 07 Feb 2014 03:30 AM PST Marvelous AQL has updated their site with a countdown clock teaser, and it might be hinting at Rune Factory developer Neverland Co.'s new project. The teaser simply states, "What have the developers of Rune Factory [Neverland Co.] been up to lately? Making a new Rune Factory game? Or...something else, perhaps? The answer is coming soon..." If you take a look at the URL it says "3DS." This could be anything, but the "something" could possibly entail ports, or, dare I say it -- a new Lufia & the Fortress of Doom? I don't want to get too excited, but given Neverland's portfolio, I'm eagerly awaiting the reveal. maql.co.jp [Marvelous AQL]
New CS: GO update lets you toss grenades in a new way Posted: 07 Feb 2014 03:00 AM PST Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has received a rather sizeable update, which includes the introduction of Sticker Capsules, a secondary firing option for grenades as well as a behemoth of map and gameplay changes. Sticker Capsules can be obtained via drops at the end of matches, and each contain one sticker that players can stick (no need to lick them first) onto their weapons. In order to get a sticker outside of a capsule you'll need to have a Sticker Capsule Key. The other big addition to this update is the alternate firing mode for grenades; players can now throw all types of grenades in an underhand manner which will land a short distance in front of the player. On top of this, the secondary and primary fire mode can be combined in order to adjust the power of the throw. As for the map and gameplay changes, and there are a lot, and include weapon balances, changes to the user interface & several maps to make things a bit more fair. Check out the full patch notes below. It's been a while since I last played Global Offensive, but with the launch of this update I'm going to try and get back into it. Anyone else in a similar position?
The Last of Us wins 10 D.I.C.E. Awards Posted: 07 Feb 2014 02:45 AM PST Naughty Dog's The Last of Us swept the 17th Annual D.I.C.E. Award, taking everything from Outstanding Achievement in Story to the Game of the Year awards last night, sweeping the majority of the 13 categories they were nominated in. The drinking game we devised in the award show audience (drink every time Naughty Dog gets an award) had me cross eyed and sloshy by night's end. Thanks for that, Naughty Dog. The Last of Us was also Destructoid's 2013 Game of the Year. Bioshock Infinite took both the Action Game of the Year and Outstanding Achievement in Original Music awards. Plants vs. Zombies 2 also took double awards: Casual Game of the Year, and Mobile Game of the Year. Felicia Day and Freddie Wong were tapped by the A.I.A.S. to host the show last night at the Hard Rock in Last Vegas last night. If you watched along on the Twitch livestream, you saw they did a pretty great job. Nice work, you two. See the full list of awards below.
Metroid's Mother Brain is in Smash Bros. as an assist Posted: 07 Feb 2014 02:30 AM PST The newest Smash Bros. Assist Trophy has been revealed, and it's none other than Samus' nemesis Mother Brain. It'll sport a "Laser Brain Attack" move, which you can see in the screenshot above. In his introduction, game director Sakurai states, "Pic of the day. Housed within the Control Capsule! Protected by Rinkas! Eyeball armed with a Laser Brain Attack!! The massive Assist Trophy Mother Brain joins the collection!!" Along with WarioWare's Ashley and Majora's Mask's Skull Kid, Smash Bros. is shaping up to have some pretty great references to go along with the core cast. Sakurai [Miiverse]
AeternoBlade is hitting the 3DS eShop on February 18th Posted: 07 Feb 2014 01:30 AM PST Late last year we got wind of a 2D action game for the 3DS called AeternoBlade, that was supposed to be released at some point in 2013 in the west. But after a series of delays the date was kind of just tabled, until now. We've just been informed that AeternoBlade will be launching on February 18th in North America for $14.99. There will also be two DLCs on offer -- one is a watermelon bikini costume (this will go over well, right?), and an Arena Mode featuring 20 waves of enemies. No prices have been announced for the DLC.
Sonic Boom, Metal Gear shortness and the Uncharted movie Posted: 06 Feb 2014 03:00 PM PST Nice hat, right? Fun news today, Sonic The Hedgehog gets not one but TWO games, as well as a TV show and a toy line in the newly announced Sonic Boom sub-franchise. The length of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has been announced, and addressed by Kojima, and then counter-addressed by our very own Steven Hansen. Ubisoft’s gorgeous Child of Light gets an April 30th release date for just about everything you can plug a controller into, Amazon has purchased Killer Instinct developer Double Helix, and the Uncharted movie has a new director.
