Age of Wushu: The Meridian System Posted: 08 Mar 2013 02:46 PM PST On April 10th, Age of Wushu will be officially launching. Along with all the unlimited time, players will also be able to access the Meridian System. The Meridian System is a completely new method of cultivation and growing in game. It is based on Ancient Chinese beliefs of the flowing of Chi through the body, a belief that is directly related to modern day acupuncture. In-game, accessing and breaking through these channels allow the player boost abilities even more than normal cultivation. Breaking through more channels and mastering more meridians can not only boost abilities, but also change the way player's set up skills altogether.
There are nine meridians that can be accessed in total. One is a Jianghu method Meridian that is not defined to the sets of one particular school, while the other eight are learned as the Internal Skills of that school are learned. The Qi Gathering in Tanden meridian unlocks the first accupoint when the Self Recollection Internal Skill hits Level 20.School based meridians open different accupoints as you learn more tiers of Internal Skills from that school. Since a player can learn the Internal skills of different schools a player can unlock all the meridians overtime.
Cultivating a Meridian requires Chi. Chi can only be collected through continuous battles. Players select the Meridian that they wish to "level-up" then begin to pool chi together through constant fighting and combat. Because of the added bonuses that a player can gain from the cultivation of Meridians, they can prove to be a mighty vantage in a battle with someone of slightly stronger basic skills.
As a Meridian becomes more cultivated and more accupoints open through Internal Skill cultivations, a player will collect Skill Points. These points are used in a Martial Skill Bar within the Meridian System to diminish certain skills' cooldown times. This will allow players more customizing options between actions. Meridians hold some great power, but take a lot of "practice" to harness that power. Fighting and focus on your skills can lead you on the path to an even more powerful, and faster, Martial Arts Master. |

APB Reloaded Team Celebrates Two Year Development Anniversary Posted: 08 Mar 2013 02:01 PM PST
Reloaded Productions®, a leading developer of free2play® massively multiplayer online games, is celebrating its second anniversary as a game development studio San Paro style, delivering contests, prizes and exclusive in-game titles for players who have supported APB Reloaded since its re-launch in 2011. Formed on March 7th 2011, Reloaded Productions Edinburgh became the second development studio under the GamersFirst banner, tasked solely with the re-envisioning of Dave Jones' All Points Bulletin open-world action MMO. In celebration of two years of hard-fought success, Reloaded Productions is naming the day "Reloaded Day" and is awarding players who log in between now and March 11 three days of Premium status in APB Reloaded. Gamers will earn more experience, more in-game rewards for completed missions and can take advantage of a 20 percent discount on everything in APB Reloaded's item store. Reloaded Day also kicks off four days of high-stakes contests, giving players a chance to win more than $6000.00 worth of G1 Credits. More information about the contests can be found at APB Reloaded's development blog: http://apbreloaded.gamersfirst.com. As a special thank you to players who have supported APB Reloaded's early development, Reloaded Productions is awarding special titles of 'CBT Veteran' for anyone who participated in the closed beta and 'OBT Veteran' to recognize all who joined the game during its open beta testing. "It's a very proud day for everyone here, and everyone involved in the success of APB Reloaded," said Michael Boniface, managing director of Reloaded Productions Edinburgh. "In the beginning, the scope of work involved in making APB Reloaded would have been intimidating even for a large team, saying nothing of a development team of just 13. Through hard work, dedication and passion for the game, we're awed at what we accomplished, and look to a bright and exciting future of continued game development." In a short amount of development time, Reloaded Productions took the commercial failure All Points Bulletin and turned it into a fun and addictive guilty pleasure for gamers worldwide. Through refocusing the title's core gameplay mechanics, improving the latency issues, converting the game to a free2play business model, and creating new in-game items, weapons, vehicles and characters, the modern-day cops and robbers MMO has become an undeniable example of success as APB Reloaded. The fruits of their labor resulted in a Steam most popular top-five free2play game for more than a year, with a registered player-base of more than three million users. |

Age of Wushu: Jianghu System and Relationship Building Posted: 07 Mar 2013 02:26 PM PST In the past, we have talked about the the combat and quests in Age of Wushu, but there is deep and enriching system for building personal relationships between players and their circles. This interactive relationship adds a deeper element to an already immersive game. The Jianghu System attaches great importance to relationships by placing values on actions performed in game. These actions create a unique dynamic in the world.
Basics of the Relationship Interface
There are Seven Relationship Types in Age of Wushu:
These relationships have their own functions, some even have their own metrics. Friends and Close Friends are measured by Intimacy, while Enemy and Blood Enemy use Hatred. Sending gifts and teaming up for instances increases intimacy, just as Kidnapping and Killing players increases hatred and reduces intimacy. Making an Enemy is a one-sided affair. After a player is killed, they can add someone to their Enemy list. Players on an Enemy List cannot join in teams or receive gifts from the person that added them to the list. However, drinking Friendship Wine together can help resolved differences, and allow players to bond once more. Any further killing only deepens the animosity between players until they become Blood Enemies.
Character Personality Tags
Age of Wushu incorporates the branding of player's personalities as well. Based on players' actions in game, this tag is reviews and sorts them into one of four different tags: Heroic, Maniacal, Evil, & Sinister.
Heroic Characters with a higher Chivalry than Guilt rating merit the "Heroic" Tag. Acts have different weight: chivalrous actions such as completing the Faction Challenge, killing a boss, helping the needy, killing kidnappers, or rescuing a dying person are ways in which to gain Chivalry.
Evil Players with a higher Guilt than Chivalry rating have the "Evil" Tag. Players increase their Guilt rating by kidnapping, raiding escort caravans, human trafficking or killing a chivalrous player. When a player's name becomes red, the Constable will attempt to send them to prison.
Judging both good and bad is often complex, as there are characters who are Chivalrous yet also steal. In Age of Wushu this sort of character falls under the title of "Evilness," measured by an Evilness value, or "Arrogance," measured by a Madness value. Different titles are awarded based upon the difference between Evilness and Madness values.
Character labels affect how teams are labeled. The tag associated with the strongest player on a team determines if the team is labeled as having Heroic, Sinister, Evil, or Maniacal. The tag or reputation of a character changes others perceptions. They can unlock new titles and costumes, raise school reputation, and unlock unique Random Encounters.
