Dino Storm Hits New Milestones

Posted: 11 Feb 2013 04:44 PM PST

While dinosaurs in the Wild West might seem quirky, Dino Storm, a free-to-play MMO from Splitscreen Games, is quickly rocketing in its success.

Since the game’s open beta started five weeks ago, Dino Storm has seen 350,000 registrations without extra marketing efforts – bringing them past the one million registered player mark.

Dino Storm has also been nominated for “MMO of the Year” for “Best Action Browser MMO.” MMO of the Year grants a jury prize for one nominee and a public award based on popular voting. Award winners will be announced on February 15.

Star Wars: The Old Republic Update 1.7 Teaser

Posted: 11 Feb 2013 12:02 PM PST

With update 1.7 for Star Wars The Old Republic on the horizon, EA/Bioware has given new information on some of the new additions.

Players can discover the secrets of the Grey Secant, an ancient Gree starship that has suddenly appeared over the Western Ice Shelf of Ilum.  From February 12 to February 26, visit the news terminals on Carrick Station or Vaiken Spacedock to begin the adventure.  Advanced technology, including powerful weapons and armor, will be rewarded to the brave few who aid them.

Players can now earn Galactic Reputation by completing missions for various factions like the Gree, or the military divisions within the Republic or Empire.  Players can progress through six ranks of prestige:  Outside, Newcomer, Friend, Hero, Champion, and Legend.  Reputation is also tied in with Legacy, so points and ranks are shared across all characters within that legacy.
