This 25th Anniversary Mega Man lanyard is a thing

What better way to celebrate your love of Mega Man than wearing this odd, neon green lanyard around your neck? Or something like that.

You can pre-order the lanyard here for the fairly pricey $9.95, and you'll also net this little limited edition tag with it. It's set to release in February officially from Capcom, to continue the 25th Anniversary celebrations into 2013.

I hope this wasn't what they had in mind when they said that they "weren't done yet" with celebrating the 25th. Given the huge success of Street Fighter X Mega Man though, I'm guessing there's still a little bit left for blue bomber fans to be excited for outside of the eShop re-releases.

MAGFest: Day two, Video Game Orchestra and bLiNd win

It's another sleepless night here at MAGFest. Our panel went well today, and we were treated to some amazing acts on Friday night here in National Harbor, MD. Stage two featured the Descendants of Erdrick, one of my favorite bands, who played some underappreciated material from Ninja Gaiden and Final Fantasy: Mystic Quest.

The main stage got brentafloss's crazy antics, Bit Brigade's masterful musical accompaniment to speed runs of both Castlevania and Contra, a mighty ARMCANNON who rocked the night away, and a surprising performance by the Video Game Orchestra which appeared as a rock band. Their renditions of "Eyes on Me," "Melodies of Life," and "I am the Wind" (from Symphony of the Night) were the best I've heard thanks to an amazing vocalist.

DJ bLiNd closed out the night after 2 AM with a some stellar remixes, including one of my favorite tracks, the Ducktales moon stage, and A_Rival made a surprise appearance to work the crowd during his set.

It was an amazing night with awesome music, and there will be even more tomorrow. Check out some photos below courtesy of Chris Serani and Ashley Robison (Bit Brigade).

News about news: Pokemon announcement coming January 8th

Do you like knowing things? How about knowing that you will know things? Do you like that too? If so, you're in luck! You will soon know something that you don't know now, and this time, it's about Pokemon!

This Tuesday, January 8th, Nintendo will tell us about a new development in their popular series of products about trouser demons pocket monsters. It could be related to the card game, the anime TV series, the anime movie series, the collectible figurine game, the main series on handheld consoles, the spin off series on home systems, or something totally new! My bet is it'll be something for the Wii U, as the console's honeymoon period is starting to wind down, and Nintendo may feel it needs something to get people talking again. We'll see on Tuesday if I'm right.

One thing I can tell you for sure is that Nintendo will NOT announce that Teenage Pokemon is now an official product of Nintendo, and it will NOT be getting a huge, multi-million dollar budget. Bummer.

I don't get what the big deal is. It's not like it's a Charizard.

The new year seems to be in full swing as we took a look back at our most anticipated games for last year and how they turned out, then continued to make some predictions for this year. Past that, Fraser reviewed A New Beginning, tidbits of awesomeness trickled out of MAGfest, and more happened on this fine Friday.
