Hey gang, The Destructoid Show wasn't live today, because our producer Zac has his fingers cut off for failing at his Yakuza duties. Er. He cut his hand by accident. Something, I forget.

Today, we discuss the possibility of a Fallout TV series, the Skyrim DLC that's finally coming to PS3, Suda51's bloody new game, Killer Is Dead, the SimCity beta, and the wacky lineup of bosses in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.

The newest addition to the Might & Magic Heroes franchise is only a few weeks away, and Ubisoft has decided to sweeten the pot for pre-order customers with a nice little set of bonus items and characters.

All players who pre-order Might & Magic Heroes VI: Shades of Darkness through Ubisoft's download service Uplay will receive the Master of All Darkness pack which contains a number of exclusive weapons to boost your army, as well as the hero Belketh the Necromancer.

Shades of Darkness will release on February 28, 2013 as a standalone title that will follow the path of Raelag while he faces off against new enemies and forges an alliance that will changes his clan forever. I can't wait to see more from this title; the art style is so vibrant and the motion-comic cinematics do a fantastic job of conveying the story.

Become a cowboy detective in browser game Westerado

Become a cowboy detective in browser game Westerado screenshot

Developed by Ostrich Banditos and published on Adult Swim's website, the cleverly titled Westerado has you running around the Wild West to perform odd jobs and, eventually, find out enough information to track down the scumbag who killed your family.

I was wholly unsuccessful in this endeavor, but that's okay. Because oh my goodness, the game looks and sounds wonderful. It's a bit like playing an old RPG in that dialogue and world navigation are central aspects, though there are specific action sequences and you can always whip out your trusty gun should you think you have the perp (or simply feel like being a psychopath).

Even though Westerado may not be something you stick with to its conclusion, it's very much worth trying if only for a quick ten minutes.

Zombies with hats: Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop is live

You have to love Valve. Not only does it empower customers with the tools to create unique content for its games, but the company also gives them an easily accessible means in which to share that content with others!

True to form, Valve has taken the Left 4 Dead 2 Workshop out of beta and is ready to share some lovely user-created content with its zombie-loving community; just like any good and decent plague carrier should. So far, the current item count is steadily approaching the 300 mark, but Valve has confirmed that players should see this number hit the thousands in just a matter of weeks.

Adding this new content to your game is as simple launching your Steam client, going to the Workshop section, and hitting the "Subscribe" button on the item's description page. If you were looking to add in your own content to the service, Valve has posted a brief explanation on the process as well as some helpful tips. I can't wait to take on the unending horror of the zombie masses in the fabled lands of Middle-Earth.

There will be a Survarium beta before the end of 2013

There will be a Survarium beta before the end of 2013 screenshot

Despite my sadness that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 may never happen, Vostok Games' MMOFPS Survarium might just fill that void. In a blog post today, the developers outlined the timeline they are aiming for and when players can get early access to the game.

Vostok plans to have an invite-only alpha sometime in Q2 2013, with a beta version in Q4 that will likely be open to all. Players invited to the alpha build will initially be testing hardware issues like server stability along with PVP areas and in-game tasks.

Considering Vostok is staffed by many ex-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. devs and that early screenshots show a ruined central European location, it seems that Survarium will be treading a similar path. Adding online co-op and multiplayer would be something I'd love to see added to that style of game.

Here's some BlayzBloo: Clone Phantasma footage

Here's some BlayzBloo: Clone Phantasma footage screenshot

Some time ago, Jonathan Holmes reviewed BlayzBloo: Super Melee Brawlers Battle Royale. It was a pretty quaint release that was forgotten almost immediately.

But now, it looks like a full sequel is upon us, ready to grace the 3DS eShop: BlayzBloo: Clone Phantasma. As you can see in the footage above, it looks very similar to its predecessor, almost to a fault.

Despite my love for BlazBlue in general, I can't really get into the game based on what I've seen so far, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

Gas Powered Games sees layoffs, might close Kickstarter

Gas Powered Games sees layoffs, might close Kickstarter screenshot

When thinking of what-if scenarios that you wouldn't want to happen while running a Kickstarter campaign, I feel like "layoffs" would be up there pretty high. Days after seeking crowdfunding support for its action-RPG/RTS Wildman, Gas Powered Games has been hit with exactly that.

Kotaku was first to break the news after hearing reports that almost everyone at the Redmond, Washington-based studio had been laid off. CEO Chris Taylor confirmed to the outlet that "We do have a layoff, and we'll be updating our Kickstarter as well with details as well very soon," however the actual number of employees let go is not known at this time.

In an update, Taylor posted a video response saying that a "substantial number of the team" had been laid off. The reasoning, he says, is to avoid a potentially failed Kickstarter resulting in a shut-down Gas Powered and no severance pay for anyone. Taylor then asks if the campaign should continue and, if the numbers improve, hire those back who have not found new jobs by its conclusion, or if he had just as well shut it down now.

Weekend PC download deals: Magicka, THQ, Guilty Gear screenshot

If you missed THQ's Humble Bundle, then you've got another chance to buy some really cheap games from the troubled publisher. Amazon.com has a THQ bundle including Space Marine, Homefront, and Metro 2033 for $11.99, a reduction of 91%. Elsewhere, you can get Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition for 75% off at GreenManGaming.

Steam has an interesting pair of offers this weekend; first up you can save 60% on the price of the sci-fi strategy of Anno 2070. Also on offer is the charming and crazy Magicka which is 75% off along with most of its DLC. The game is also free to play this weekend if you fancy embarking on some co-op shenanigans before buying.

Gamersgate is continuing their EA promotion this week, knocking Shank 2, Gatling Gears, and Warp down to half price. GOG.com has a real mix of titles in its Mid-winter Variety Promo including Guilty Gear Isuka and Realms of the Haunting for 60% off.

Feast your eyes on this amazingly detailed Skyrim armor

deviantART user Chris "Zerios88" Wolvie states on his page that he's a "little noob cosplayer." Sir, I beg to differ.

Chris custom made his own Dovahkiin Daedric armor from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and it's just stunning. It's incredibly detailed, and I wouldn't blame you if you thought some of the pictures were straight out of the game. The armor is so good that he won an award at a convention last year too.

Check out his deviantART page for more pictures of his armor and the building process, and see some of his other cosplay work over on Facebook.

Dota 2 adds a 'Least Played Mode' game type

Dota 2 adds a 'Least Played Mode' game type screenshot

Dota 2 didn't get a new hero yesterday, but it did get a new game mode to hold us over while we wait for everyone's most anticipated hero, Tuskarr. Least Played Mode eliminates your 20 most-played heroes from the pool and forces you to pick from the rest.

As someone who exclusively plays either Single or Random Draft, Least Played Mode feels like a breath of fresh air, considering how many heroes remain after eliminating only 20. That being said, my team might be in for some serious trouble since most of my least-played heroes are carries. Who are your least-played heroes? Do they line up with the overall least played?

If you're interested in Dota 2 and yet somehow not in the beta, it's pretty easy to get in these days. Heck, I've got six invites just sitting pretty in my Steam inventory...

This Elder Scrolls Online video explains the story

This Elder Scrolls Online video explains the story screenshot

As some of you may know, I'm an Elder Scrolls nut -- possibly the biggest one on Destructoid if you include games outside of Skyrim. So while I have my reservations regarding the upcoming Elder Scrolls Online, I'm eager to see what it can bring to the table.

Say what you will about an Elder Scrolls game moving into the MMO space (my main issue right now is the subscription fee), but it looks like Zenimax is really taking its time to make this fairly authentic to the series' established lore.

Seriously, if you have any doubts, take a few minutes to watch the video.

I'm pretty excited to see how this pans out, and you can expect coverage throughout the year from us, guaranteed!

Indie Nation: A Fistful of Gun

Indie Nation: A Fistful of Gun screenshot

A Fistful of Gun is a combination of a classic beat-'em-up like Turtles in Time and a shoot-'em-up like Jamestown. So naturally, I'm deeming it a sheat-'em-up.

No, wait, that sounds terrible.

A boot-'em-up? Better, but still not that great...

How about a boosh-'em-up? Yeah, I'll go with that one. A Fistful of Gun is the best goddamn boosh-'em-up of all time.

Most people might know Paul Greasley for his work on Edmund in the past, or for his upcoming game Under the Ocean. Regardless, you're about to know him for one of the sweetest free titles you'll ever play.

There are three characters to choose from, each of which play differently. Perhaps the most unique thing about Fistful of Gun is that each character requires a different control method. Noah, the shotgunner, uses the keyboard; Abel and his pistol need an Xbox 360 controller; and the long-ranged Zeke is controlled solely with the mouse. This was done so that three people didn't have to crowd around the keyboard and fight for who gets the best control scheme.

It's a great idea, and something that would fit just as perfectly on the Wii U as the PC. You hear me Paul? Get this on the Wii U!

Each character has his own pros and cons, my favorite of which is probably Noah. He comes with a dodge ability by double tapping a direction, which can lead to some crazy moves. Since you can only shoot the way in which you are facing, you'll have to move towards the enemy in order to shoot them, even if it is a slight movement. The benefit of course is his huge spread shot from his shotgun.

Abel can shoot in any direction with his pistol since shooting is done with the right stick of the controller while moving is mapped to the left stick. He can fire the quickest, but his accuracy is entirely dependent on how good you are at tapping that right stick in the exact position you need. Trust me, it ain't easy.

Zeke beings each round cloaked and has the longest range of the bunch. He will re-cloak if you don't do anything for a bit, allowing him to sneak around a bit before lining up a perfect shot. He can't move and shoot at the same time, making it tough to avoid incoming shots at times.

Each character offers a unique way to approach the levels and it is great learning to play each of them or just playing some good ole co-op.

The game is about getting high scores, accomplished by killing some dudes. Over time you'll accrue a higher multiplier which, as you can guess, multiplies your score and helps you claim your spot on the leaderboard.

Personally, I have no idea how these people at the top of the leaderboard get the scores they do. I'm nowhere close! I think they're juicin'.

What turns this game from a great distraction into something more is the music, courtesy of Surasshu. The music is what really cements the feel of the entire game. It's got the western vibe, and at the same time sounds like it is ripped straight from a '90s-era beat-'em-up. Oh, and the sound effects when you choose a character are freaking perfect

It makes me feel ... at home. Growing up and playing games like Turtles in Time or The Simpsons Arcade Game, the soundtrack hits all the right notes to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.

Download A Fistful of Gun here.
