| Jersey Shore’s Snooki Has Games, Apps Coming to Facebook and iOS Posted: 18 Oct 2011 07:34 AM PDT The deal is with Apps Genius Corp, a company whose lone game on iOS is Slap a Friend, an app where you can plaster someone’s face onto a character and proceed to beat them around with a bat, drop bowling balls on them, and so on. It’s an appropriate partnership as I can imagine Snooki’s face has been used in this game a number of times. The other iOS release from Apps Genius is Bed Bug Alert, an app that allows you to keep track and report bed bug infestations. (No, it’s not a game.) Its website lists some of its Facebook projects, which include Bruisers (a “turn based strategy war game” with pirates and ninjas), Drama Llama (“Now you can track who causes the most drama among your friends and family”), and My Mad Millions (a game where you must spend $300 million and have nothing left over at the end). The deal allows Apps Genius to develop and distribute as many as eight social games and mobile apps featuring Snooki. These are planned for release on iOS, Android, Facebook, and Google+. Four apps or games will be released within the next year, with the first coming up at the end of November. “These games and applications are my new favorite accessories, and I love them to death,” Snooki said in today’s press release. “Having worked on these from the beginning, I know Jersey Shore viewers and my other fans will love them. I can’t wait to release the first one that we have been working on with Apps Genius.” Snooki made it big on Jersey Shore, an MTV reality show that debuted in 2009 and is just wrapping up its fourth season this week. She released a book, A Shore Thing, earlier this year, which today’s press release reminds us of by referring to her as a New York Times bestselling author. The book initially sold quite poorly but did make the the Times’ extended bestseller list in January. While the idea of a Snooki game of some sort sounds disastrous, it’s not as if the iOS App Store doesn’t already have its fair share of junk on it. | Posted: 18 Oct 2011 03:05 AM PDT Cloud Nine (also known as Holic 2) is a 3D fantasy MMORPG developed by the Korean studio Mgame. As a direct sequel to the original Holic, Cloud Nine supports the same anime-inspired graphic style and revolving class system. Additionally, players will be able to collect cards that transform them into various monsters.
Publisher: Netgame Website: http://cloudnine.netgame.com/ Pros: +Tame pets and collect monster cards. +Sleek interface. +Great musical score. +Unique cel-shaded graphics style. +Many playable classes (6). +Each race has their own set of unique skills. Cons: -Terribly poor English translations. -Generic fantasy theme. -Repetitive core gameplay.
Fans of the original Holic can finally rejoice! Cloud Nine, which is known as Holic 2 in Asia, is the successor to the quirky anime-styled MMORPG. The graphics and gameplay features of Cloud Nine are similar to those found in the original Holic Online but have been upgraded considerably. Players will have the option to pick a second class, which will effect their character's growth options. A monster card system allows players to tame any monster in the game, and even transform into a monster to participate in an innovative PvP system. Traditional PvP modes such as guild battles and faction wars are also included between the two warring nations of Primus Union and Ganav Libero. Races: Seneka - A highly intelligent race who have the same appearance as the gods. Their relentless pursuit of technology comes at the expense of nature, which has angered the Matsuka. Koshare - The children of the Earth. The Koshare are fairy-like beings who are known as tricksters. They make excellent crafters due to their dexterous hands and insatiable curiosity. Matsuka - Half-animal and half-humanoid, the Matsuka are brave and honorable warriors who are often found serving as mercenaries for the other races. They value harmony with nature above all else. This belief has caused conflict with the Seneka in the past and tensions remain high. Classes: Warrior - With high health and defense, the warrior makes the ideal tank. Warriors take the battle to their opponents in closed ranged combat. Monk - Highly disciplined melee fighters who are adept at controlling the flow of ki. They can take the roll of a tank or damage dealer. Rogue - Cunning fighters who sneak up and attack their enemies from behind. Hunter - Masters of the Bow. Hunters attack their enemies with speed and force, leaving their opponents dazed and confused. Mage - Powerful casters with immense damage potential. They are vulnerable to physical attacks and must keep a safe distance from their foes. Cleric - Supportive spellcasters who who posses healing and buffing spells. Clerics rely on other classes to defend them during battle.

| Champions Online MMORPG Review Posted: 18 Oct 2011 02:43 AM PDT Champions Online is a 3D, superhero-themed MMORPG. Create a unique hero using the game's amazing character creation system and play through the game's well-crafted story arcs. Champions Online boasts a powerful graphics engine that makes use of cel-shading and other interesting features to present a unique visual style.
Publisher: Cryptic Studios Website: http://www.champions-online.com Pros: +In-depth character creation. +Unique colorful artstyle. +Fast-paced, action-oriented gameplay. +Tons of variety between characters. Cons: -Odd use of instancing & save points. -Balance issues. -Few missions to complete, lots of grind.
Champions Online is a 3D superhero themed fantasy MMORPG set in Millennium City. The game used to be pay to play with a free trial, but officially went fully free to play with a cash shop and subscriber option on January 25, 2011. For gamers with a love for deep character customization and fast, smooth gameplay, the Champions Online is definitely a solid choice. There are no classes in Champions Online; players are free to choose any power from any powerset to realize whatever vision they have in mind for their characters. These powers are organized into theme frameworks, which are listed below: Might: Your standard super-strength powerset. For characters looking to imitate the biggest and the burliest heavy hitters, though your character need not appear large! Munitions: A framework containing just about every conventional firearm imaginable, from rocket launchers, to gatling guns, to shotguns, to grenades, and to a number of very cool looking "gun kata" style dual pistol attacks. Martial Arts: Choose from unarmed, claws, single blade, or dual blade within the martial arts frameworks, each with unique advantages. Sorcery: From black magic to white magic, from primal sorcery to arcane sorcery, this set contains a great deal of unique attacks and area-centric buffs. Plus, the arcane bolts just look cool! Supernatural: Whether you choose to be a chain-swinging demon with toxic breath, or a creepy creature with supernatural, shredding claws, this set is a grab-bag for every imaginable kind of weirdness. Telepathy: Powerful crowd-control, the best heals in the game, and arguably the best AoE attack in the game. Telepathy has a number of solid powers to choose from! Telekinesis: A thematic favorite, TK is a set for people who want to have psychic blades, a la Psylocke from X-men, or even a Protoss zealot from Starcraft. Some of the best melee damage in the game is in these powers! Gadgeteering: Orbital cannons, laser guns, robot minions, photon mines, shrink rays, resurrection serums… gauntlet chainsaws? Yep. It's all here. Power Armor: You are Iron Man. Just don't name yourself that. Make a suit of awesome powered armor and go nuts. Or make a lizard person that shoots missles out of their chest for some reason. The choice is yours! Archery: A number of surprisingly high-tech looking bow attacks, from arrows with explosives tied to them, to arrows that explode in a pretty sphere of energy. All archery attacks can be used and charged while moving! Energy Projection: From flinging flames, to ice bolts, to lightining bolts, or force bolts. It's all in these four powersets. Set stuff on fire, encase enemies in icy prisons, place forcefields on your allies, or just annihilate whole armies with columns of electricity. Darkness: Summon clouds of fear, attack enemies with blasts of pure shadow, lick at your foes with dark tendrils, drain life, and create nether voids. This set pretty much speaks for itself. Celestial: The consummate "healer" set, many of the attacks in Celestial are pretty balls and beams of light, which can either damage enemies or heal friends.

| Posted: 18 Oct 2011 01:58 AM PDT Bright Shadow is a nicely animated, 3D, anime-inspired fantasy MMORPG published by Beanfun (The game used to be available through GamePot USA, but they shut it down and BeanFun picked up the service). The game is set in the fantasy world of Luciena and has a strong emphasis on item collection, community and exploration. Those looking for a simple, lighthearted MMORPG should find some substance in Bright Shadow.

Cons: -Looks very similar to other anime inspired games. -Interface could be better. -Clunky combat mechanics.
Bright Shadow is an anime-inspired MMORPG that both looks and feels a lot like Outspark's popular Fiesta Online title. Perhaps the game's most unique feature is its detailed card collection system. Players can find and collect over 500 special monster cards that can be obtained by defeating enemies. These cards have numerous uses, from being used as currency for items to unlocking special abilities. Bright Shadow does have numerous unique features and a lot of content which makes the game worth checking out. The game boasts over twenty playable classes, but there are only four starting ones. The game's four starting classes are: Warrior – Warriors in Bright Shadow are masters of 'close quarters' combat. They can inflict a great deal of damage to their enemies in melee combat and also absorb quite a bit of hits due to their remarkably high defensive capabilities. Machinist – The machinist is a fairly unique class, as it's only found in Bright Shadow and a handful of other titles. They are a mix between an archer and a merchant. They have a powerful long range attack with both bows and guns. They can also craft weapons and armor. Shaman – With numerous healing and buffing spells, Shamans are the primary supportive class in Bright Shadow; think of them as a mix between a druid and a cleric. Even though shamans are primarily a support class, they still have some offensive magic. Mage - Like nearly every other MMORPG, a Mage in Bright Shadow is the primary offensive spell casting class in the game. They have devastating area-of-effect and direct damage spells, but have extremely low physical attack and defense. They command the powers of both fire and ice.

| BioShock Vita Still Very Early, Development Could be Handled Externally Posted: 17 Oct 2011 07:33 PM PDT Irrational Games’ Ken Levine had two surprises to share when he took to the stage during Sony’s E3 press conference in June. BioShock Infinite will support PlayStation Move and a new BioShock game is being developed for Vita. Although several months have passed since then, development on the Vita game hasn’t progressed far, and it’s not a guarantee that Irrational will even develop the entire game internally. Speaking with Joystiq, Levine described the game as being “in the paper design stage.” Confirming what he said in June, the idea is still to create a brand-new game for Vita as opposed to porting the original BioShock or Infinite to the handheld, although “things can change.” “I think for us, the idea we have is a really good expression on a platform like that [Vita],” he explained. “It’s a different goal. And it has to sort of have its own voice in the franchise. If it just feels like a quieter voice in the franchise, I don’t think that works. For us.” Because of the relatively small size of Irrational, it’s difficult to devote a large enough team to work on the new game with Infinite still in the works. It’s a possibility that Irrational could opt to allow a separate developer to handle development of the Vita game — discussions have taken place — but Levine wants to ensure the quality of the game is up to par with previous Irrational titles. In other words, don’t expect any decisions to be made that are, well, irrational. Posted by: admin in Gaming News Thank you for Visiting Gameforumer.com, Hope you enjoyed the stay with us. |
